Michelle Dee, Mika Salamanca make debut appearances in 'Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre'

GMA Network17-06-2025
Michelle Dee and Mika Salamanca just debuted in "Sang'gre," making their striking entrances as Hara Cassandra and Anaca, respectively.
Tuesday's episode introduced Hara Cassandra, the queen of Lireo and the current keeper of the air gem. She was born of Lira's hair, Amihan's ashes, and Cassiopeia's blood.
She was approached by the three Sang'gres, Alena (Gabbi Garcia), Danaya (Sanya Lopez), and Pirena (Glaiza De Castro), who were worried after Cassiopeia (Solenn Heussaff) shared a haunting vision of a mysterious enemy determined to kill her.
Pressed about the fate of her gem, Cassandra said the right heir would come in time.
Cassandra eventually ordered Danaya to take Aquil (Rocco Nacino) and their daughter Gaiea (Cassandra Lavarias) to the world of humans without revealing Cassiopeia's dark vision that Gaiea would be killed by humans and therefore wouldn't inherit the earth gem.
Meanwhile, in Mine-a-ve, Mitena continued training her people for war, declaring her intent to take over Encantadia.
Mika made her first appearance as Anaca, Mitena's majestic white owl who transforms into a humanoid version. She was spying on the Sang'gres and reported to the ice queen that Danaya had gone to the world of humans, news that delighted Mitena.
Bianca Umali had also made her first appearance as Terra on the show through another one of Cassiopeia's visions, where she saw the prophecy of a new savior.
Terra's character emerged as the foretold protector destined to continue Danaya's legacy.
"Sang'gre" airs on GMA Network from Mondays to Fridays at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." You can also watch it online via the Kapuso Stream on YouTube. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News

Bianca Umali joins panel to advocate breast cancer awareness and prevention: 'A mission for my mom'

Bianca Umali joined a group of panelists in an event as an advocate of breast cancer prevention awareness. According to Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Tuesday, Bianca talked about the importance of early screening and detection, which can make a crucial difference in saving lives. "Because I lost my mom to breast cancer when I was five. Mahalaga sa akin to spread awareness of what self-care and what women's health really means, especially to the younger generation because I wouldn't want any other little girl to go through what I went through," she said. Bianca said that her advocacy for breast cancer is not something she does just for herself. "This is a mission for my mom, at para na rin sa kabataan at sa mga babae na maaaring matulungan ko through the story that I have," she said. Bianca was orphaned at an early age. On top of losing her mother at age five, Bianca also lost her dad due to a heart attack when she was 10. She was raised by her grandmother, Mama Vicky. Bianca currently stars in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre," which airs on GMA Network from Mondays to Fridays at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." Carmina Villarroel asks Zoren Legaspi: 'Naging marupok ka na ba?'

Has Zoren Legaspi ever fallen into temptation? On Tuesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Zoren and his wife Carmina Villarroel engaged in a conversation about marital temptations, leading to the actor being put on the hot seat when directly asked about his perspective on vulnerability. Zoren was explaining his belief that temptation, especially amplified by social media with its private messages, is ever-present, adding that if a husband feels neglected, he might become "marupok." So Carmina promptly challenged his stance and asked: "Naging marupok ka na ba?" Zoren's initial reaction was to repeat the question, which Carmina quickly interpreted. "Kita mo 'yan? Kapag inuulit-ulit ang tanong, ibig sabihin, parang sinasabi niya, 'I'm guilty,'" she said. When asked again, Zoren admitted, "Muntik na." He credited his strong "spiritual" foundation as the crucial factor that prevented him from succumbing to temptation. "That's why it's very important," he said. Despite his near-vulnerability, Zoren said that he did not have any complains about Carmina's care for him. Carmina and Zoren got married in 2012. They have twins together, Cassy and Mavy. Carmina just turned 50 years old, and Zoren surprised her with a birthday party. The Legaspi Family is set to star in "Hating Kapatid." It is their first series as a family. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News

Vic Sotto testifies in cyber libel case vs. Darryl Yap

Actor-host Vic Sotto on Tuesday testified before a Muntinlupa court for his cyber libel case against director Darryl Yap, his lawyer said. Atty. Enrique Dela Cruz, the actor's legal counsel, told GMA News Online that Sotto testified on the alleged malice on the part of Yap for making him appear that he raped Pepsi Paloma. The case stemmed from the teaser of the Yap's upcoming film, "The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma," released last January 1, where the character of Gina Alajar (who is portraying Charito Solis) asked the lead actress portraying Paloma if she was raped by actor-host Vic Sotto. The lead character replied, "yes." However, in his sworn judicial affidavit, Sotto said that a draft copy of the film showed that the scene shown in the teaser was cut short. Sotto also said that in a previous hearing, Yap testified that the full movie will not name him as one of the rapists. "The script of the movie stated that it was just a 'publicity stunt' but that was not mentioned in the teaser video," Dela Cruz said. Yap's camp declined to comment. Yap was charged for libel under Article 353 and 355 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended in relation to violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. Meanwhile, Dela Cruz said the next hearing will be on September 9. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
