CM's push has collectors get cracking to improve governance
During a recent review meeting, the chief minister instructed the chief secretary to submit a daily status report, particularly in light of key issues requiring enhanced supervision, including regulation of fertiliser supply, disease prevention, weather alerts, and ration card distribution.
District collectors have since been submitting detailed reports in a standardised format, covering aspects such as inspections of healthcare centres and government hospitals, the number of ration card distribution camps held, and the status of cards issued or pending. Reports also include findings from inspections, deficiencies noted, and actions taken.
Revanth Reddy has repeatedly stressed the importance of on-ground inspections to ensure transparency, efficiency, and accountability in governance. Collectors have been asked to conduct surprise visits to schools, colleges, hospitals, and government offices to monitor staff performance and service delivery.
To support key welfare initiatives like ration card distribution, midday meals in schools, and construction of Indiramma houses, the CM has directed officials to dedicate the first half of three working days each week to field visits.
This directive has begun yielding visible results. Progress is being observed in midday meal implementation, timely distribution of ration cards, and the ongoing construction of Indiramma houses.
Collectors have also been instructed to disseminate daily IMD weather forecasts and regularly review rainfall and flood preparedness. As a result of heightened alertness, no major incidents have been reported in the past six months, with emergency response teams and helplines remaining active during heavy rains and other emergencies.

'In the next Assembly elections too, the Congress would secure 80 per cent of the seats and retain power. This government would last for more than 15 years.' BRS neglected irrigation sector during their 10-year regime: Bhatti
Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said that Telangana's irrigation water needs are still being met by projects built by previous Congress govts on the Krishna and Godavari rivers. He added that the BRS did nothing for the development of the irrigation sector during their 10-year regime. "Not a single drop of irrigation water that rightfully belongs to Telangana will be given up. The state's interests are more important than politics. The previous BRS govt was responsible for allowing the Andhra Pradesh to take the Banakacherla project," he said after laying the foundation stone for the construction of 10,000-metric-tonne-capacity warehouses at Kamalapuram village in the Mudigonda mandal of the Khammam district. The warehouses are being built by the Telangana State Warehousing Corporation at a cost of ₹10 crore. KTR questions HYDRAA's ‘selective' demolitions
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday questioned why HYDRAA officials, who claim to promote water conservation in Hyderabad, have failed to issue notices to Congress leaders who have built houses on lake beds. He accused HYDRAA of turning a blind eye to properties belonging to chief minister A Revanth Reddy and minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, alleging that all of them were constructed on lake beds. Speaking at a preparatory meeting for the Jubilee Hills bypoll, the senior BRS leader expressed frustration that HYDRAA appears to target only the homes of the poor.
