Former Dolphins Pro Bowler blasts Miami for trading Jonnu Smith, Jalen Ramsey to Steelers
While Mostert is excited for what's in store for Ramsey and Smith, he blasted the Dolphins over their treatment of talent. Here's what the former Dolphins Pro Bowl RB had to say on social media:
"Hot take: Be a Pro-bowler on the Dolphins, get treated like sh--. Happy for my guys though! GO BALL OUT!!"
Mostert's comments likely stem from personal experience as well, considering he was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2023 — only to be released by the Dolphins this past February. Mostert would sign a one-year deal with the Raiders shortly after.
Mostert's trade reaction wasn't the only one to go viral, as All-Pro Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill took to social media in disappointment.

Texans' C.J. Stroud named top 10 QB by survey of execs and coaches
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud has proven over his two seasons that he is a rising star and among the gunslingers and the best player at the position in the AFC South. Even with the arrival of No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward heading to Nashville with the Tennessee Titans, Stroud, who is the fastest quarterback to 18 wins in franchise history, remains the top name in the division. But where does Stroud rank nationally among those in the league? As he enters his third season, the Pro Bowl passer has firmly planted himself in The Athletic's top 10 quarterbacks, as voted on by 50 NFL coaches and executives, coming in tied for ninth with Philadelphia Eagles' Jalen Hurts. The biggest differentiator for the voters between making him an elite player and a quarterback "you can win games with" comes down to his development behind a mediocre offensive line. "He got rattled because of his offensive line, and you saw that in his play," an anonymous defensive coordinator said. "When I watched them, I felt like he felt the rush. Because of that, I still think the talent is in there." Last season, Stroud was sacked 52 times, second-most among passers and only behind Chicago's Caleb Williams. Nico Collins, Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell, three receivers who were expected to be a trio of terror, all missed at least five games, including the latter two suffering season-ending injuries. "Everybody wants to downgrade C.J.," another coordinator said. "His No. 1 receiver was out, the line did not play great, the run game wasn't there like it should have been." Even without a strong supporting cast for a majority of the year, Stroud guided Houston to significant wins over the Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys and all three division rivals en route to a second 10-win season. In the playoffs, his second-half comeback against the Los Angeles Chargers also marked the second double-digit playoff win of Stroud's career. "I read an article, they said it's time for him to take the next step," said an offensive coach. "What is the next step? It's time for his team to take the next step. He's pretty damn productive." This is an important season for Stroud's future. With a promising campaign, the former No. 2 overall pick could be the No. 1 quarterback in terms of annual salary with a new extension after the season. While Stroud isn't in jeopardy of retiring or regressing at 24, the Texans are tired of seeing their season end in the divisional round. If voters think Stroud can "win games" for his roster, it's time for him to live up to billing.

Saints announce 6 roster moves after free agent tryouts, lose several players to injuries
Tuesday's update to the daily NFL transactions wire revealed a number of roster moves for the New Orleans Saints. With a variety of injuries and roster vulnerabilities to manage after their first preseason game, just how did the Saints go about shaking things up? Let's go through each move listed on the wire and what they mean moving forward: C Will Clapp designated to injured reserve This was expected based off prior reporting. Clapp left with a foot injury early in Sunday's preseason game and wasn't able to return, and now his year is over. It's a devasting hit for the 29-year old pro. Clapp returned to the team that drafted him to try and give the Saints better depth behind Pro Bowl center Erik McCoy. They'll have to find depth elsewhere. TE Mason Pline waived with injury designation Pline was just picked up off of waivers from the San Francisco 49ers about a week ago, but he went down with an injury in the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. This is a procedural move to put him on injured reserve and either stash him for the season or let him go with an injury settlement. That would give him an opportunity to play for another team in 2025, but probably not the Saints. WR Chris Tyree waived with injury designation This was another move reported ahead of time; Tyree suffered an undisclosed injury at practice and wasn't able to participate in the Chargers preseason game. Now he's being sent down to injured reserve, assuming he clears waivers. The undrafted rookie could get another shot with a different team if the Saints let him go with an injury waiver, but they may want him to stick around for a longer look next offseason. TE Seth Green re-signed to the 90-man roster Green was let go to open a roster spot for Pline, but with the newcomer going down with an injury, the Saints brought him back to fill out the depth chart. This could be Green's last shot at making an impression on the coaching staff. With Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill still recovering from knee injuries and Jack Stoll dropping a pass in the Chargers game, Green still has a real opportunity. DT Jayden Peevy signed to the 90-man roster Peevy was one of a dozen free agents who tried out for the Saints on Tuesday, and one of two who signed with them afterwards. Peevy is a big defensive lineman at 6-foot-5 and 308 pounds, though he's spent most of his NFL career on various practice squads around the league; he's made stops with the Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers (twice), Cleveland Browns, and Houston Texans after playing college football at Texas A&M. WR Roderick Daniels signed to the 90-man roster Daniels was a big-play threat at SMU who averaged 15.3 yards per catch in each of the last two seasons. He was also an asset in the return game for the Mustangs, averaging 10.3 yards per punt return with two touchdowns. But he weighs in at just 5-foot-9 and 186 pounds, so there are size limitations to his game just like with Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Brandin Cooks. He also signed with the Saints after Tuesday's group workout.

Steelers' Aaron Rodgers suffers apparent leg injury, HC Mike Tomlin gives positive update
Injuries have hit the Steelers hard over the past few weeks — and many believed 20-year veteran QB Aaron Rodgers might've been the latest. At the final day of training camp, Rodgers was spotted with his right leg heavily bandaged and iced — with reports and images of the incident causing some panic to set in on social media. This was hardly the news Steelers fans were looking for with less than 30 days until the regular season opener versus the New York Jets — that was until HC Mike Tomlin downplayed the injury entirely. "He just got stepped on,' Tomlin told the media on Tuesday. 'It was nothing of any significance. He finished his work.' Despite Tomlin's optimism, ESPN's Brooke Pryor reported Rodgers was "moving a step slower" to finish out practice. The situation is worth monitoring as the Steelers prepare for their second preseason matchup this Saturday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — but considering Rodgers was unlikely to play in the preseason before being stepped on, it's safe to say his first game snaps will take place versus his former Jets in Week 1.
