Shikhar Dhawan To Collaborate With Jacqueline Fernandez, Set To Feature In Music Video 'Besos'

NDTV06-05-2025
Cricket's beloved Gabbar, known for his thunderous cover drives and infectious smile, is set to steal hearts once again--this time, not on the field, but in front of the camera. Shikhar Dhawan is expanding his presence in the world of entertainment with a brand-new avatar: a performer in a high-energy music video titled "Besos". And he is not alone. Joining him is Bollywood's dazzling diva, Jacqueline Fernandez, known for her sizzling screen presence. The two are collaborating for the first time, and the pairing has already sparked excitement among fans, according to a release.
The track, described as funky, vibrant, and full of flair, is expected to bring out a playful, rhythmic side of Dhawan that fans have not seen before, the release said. Whether it is matching steps with a Bollywood superstar or bringing his signature swagger to the screen, Shikhar seems ready to show that his talents go well beyond cricket stadiums.
Set to release on YouTube on May 8, 2025, Besos promises to be more than just a song--it is an experience, a vibe, and perhaps the beginning of a new chapter for the cricketer-turned-entertainer.
This is not Dhawan's first foray into entertainment. Fans may remember his brief cameo in the 2022 Bollywood film Double XL. But Besos marks his most prominent role yet in front of the camera, the release said.
Dhawan played 34 Tests, 167 ODIs, 68 T20Is, and scored 10,867 runs in international cricket. He has played 222 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches and scored 6,769 runs. He retired from international cricket and all forms of Indian cricket last year.

Now, get AI-generated sketches made in Mario Miranda style

Panaji: It was in March this year that the world was captivated by the whimsical AI-generated art trend of Studio Ghibli-styled images. Now, the Mario Gallery in Goa is breathing new life into the legacy of Mario Miranda, the famed Goan cartoonist whose sketches, caricatures, and portraits have delighted generations. Using the power of artificial intelligence, the Mario Gallery has crafted a unique experience with the help of the existing vast archival treasure trove of 13,000 original Mario Miranda drawings. The gallery's curators have meticulously trained an AI model to emulate the master's signature style. Gerard da Cunha, curator of the Mario Gallery, said that it took three months to master the art. The tech will be launched on Aug 23 at 4pm at the gallery in Torda. 'Anyone can come and have a Mario sketch of themselves generated,' he told TOI . The AI model is built using a deep learning technique known as style transfer and generative modelling. By feeding the system thousands of Mario Miranda's original sketches, caricatures, and portraits, the AI learns to recognise the unique features that define his art such as his delicate line work, shading and composition. When a visitor submits a photo or a selfie, the AI analyses the facial features and then reconstructs the image by applying Mario's distinctive sketching style, producing a hand-drawn effect that feels authentic. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo This process involves complex algorithms that mimic artistic strokes and patterns of Miranda's hand, making every portrait an emulation of his art. 'This innovative project speaks volumes about the evolving role of AI in art and culture. While much of the discourse around artificial intelligence focuses on its disruptive potential or fears of takeover, the Mario Gallery's initiative showcases a practical application. It's a fun thing where people can participate in getting a sketch that Mario would've done,' Da Cunha said. Miranda was an Indian cartoonist and painter based in Loutolim, Goa. He had been a regular with The Times of India and other newspapers in the then-Bombay. Miranda was known for his detailed depictions of Goan life and his work was celebrated globally. He was also a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). I've been curious about India: Passenger on tour

Passenger, the British singer-songwriter best known for his global hit Let Her Go, is looking forward to his debut performance in India, and he says this is 'something I've wanted to do for many years. ' 'I've always been curious about India,' he says, adding, 'I've heard so much of your music, though I wouldn't claim to know it deeply. It's a different world from the English and American folk traditions I grew up with. But that's the beauty of being an artiste; you keep your ears and mind open. It keeps you fresh.' In an interview with us, the global artiste opens up about staying true to himself as a musician, navigating trends, the importance of honouring his craft, and more. 'MY MUSIC IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LISTEN TO IT' In today's music industry, where viral trends dictate careers, Passenger remains unconcerned. 'I've never followed trends,' he admits. 'The music industry is fickle. It changes all the time. The only thing I can do is stay true to who I am, write songs I'm proud of, and put them out for people who want to listen. If it's fashionable, great. If not, that's okay too,' he adds. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it better to shower in the morning or at night? But how does one preserve intimacy in front of thousands? Passenger credits his stripped-back approach. 'It's just me and my guitar. I tell stories, I explain the songs. I want people to feel like they're sitting in a friend's living room, even if there are 3,000 others in that 'living room',' he shares. While love and heartbreak remain central themes, Passenger is not afraid of venturing further. 'Love and loss are part of the human condition, which is why people relate. But it's important to keep challenging yourself. I've just written a West End musical; that's been a whole new world for me,' he adds. 'I'VE LEARNED NOT TO FORCE CREATIVITY' With several albums under his belt, Passenger shrugs at the idea of writer's block. 'Sometimes I write three songs in a week. Sometimes none for three months. It's not clockwork. I've learned not to force it. Songs come when they're ready,' the musician tells us. As he prepares to perform for Indian audiences for the first time, Passenger brings with him the same humility and honesty that carried him from street corners to sold-out venues worldwide. 'At the heart of it,' he says, 'it's still just me and my guitar.' 'I WRITE MUSIC FROM A PLACE OF HONESTY' Before fame, Passenger was a busker for five years. Those years, he says, shaped him. 'It was humbling. I had great days and tough ones, playing to twenty people in a pub. That perspective stays with me. Every time I step on stage now, I remember those nights and how lucky I am,' he tells us. His biggest takeaway is authenticity. 'Any time I've tried to write a song because I thought it would be successful, it doesn't work. But when I write from an honest place, that's when people connect. You can't fake that,' he adds. The music industry is fickle. The only thing I can do is stay true to who I am, write songs I'm proud of, and put them out for people who want to listen Passenger BookMyShow Live is the producer and promoter for Passenger's upcoming India tour.
