'If we can prevent one brain injury, we think that's rather special, and we really reach out to second grade students, who at that point in time are riding bikes and skateboards and all that, so they're at such a great age and time in their life to really understand safety,' said Opportunities Unlimited CEO and President Jennifer McCabe.
Opportunities Unlimited has been to 14 schools across Siouxland, sharing the importance of wearing a helmet with students.

Why targeting mobile QBs is a good fantasy strategy
Yahoo Fantasy analysts Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski discuss why targeting mobile QBs in your fantasy draft is a good idea. Hear the full conversation on the 'Yahoo Fantasy Forecast' podcast - and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript The quarterback has to run either resourcefully, and it's an add-on, or he runs aggressively. And he may even lead his team. And we've learned, people say, oh, what if my quarterback runs? He's going to get hurt. It really hasn't proven to be that big of a risk. Most of these guys are smart; they slide. They don't take the kill shots that you worry about. So if these guys run dynamically, we may never know that Justin Fields is a great regular quarterback, but he could run for 1,000 yards. That makes him a great fantasy quarterback. Russell Wilson, back in the day, it was a big part of his game. It really isn't anymore, but identify the guys who can run, the guys who may have five or more touchdown upsides in their bag. They may run for 500, 600, 700 yards in the case of Fields. I think you get to 1,000. These are the players that scrambled more than 40 times last year. Number one was Jayden Daniels, who was 75, not surprising. Number two is actually Bo Nix at 50, but Caleb Williams was right there at 50 as well. He's a guy who scored zero touchdowns on scrambles last year. That's something to consider. If he, if he breaks out, it will be because I think they make use of his mobility as a quarterback there in some of the improvisational nature of his game. 45 scrambles for Lamar Jackson, 45 for Drake May. Despite the fact he did not play a whole season, Drake made 407 scramble yards last year, two more than Lamar Jackson, second only to Jayden Daniels in the NFL last year. Brock Purdy scrambled 44 times last year, and Brock Purdy, this is a designed quarterback, had 0.8 EPA per design rush last year. That was right up there with, uh, like that was right up there with some of the best in the league. Uh, Baker Mayfield, actually, who scrambled 42 times, right behind Josh Allen at 43, had 0.83 EPA, uh, per designed rush. So, like, that just again shows you what a, what a, like, I hate to use the phrase like sneaky runner that Brock Purdy is, but he's become a really, really good. Like designed rush and scramble player as well. So again, one more, Kyler Murray, no surprise, 41 scrambles last year. But just honorable mention here to Bryce Young, who scrambled 37 times and obviously didn't get to that 40 mark that I'm talking about, but he would have had he not played a full game. And he scored 4, he had a 14% rushing touchdown rate on scrambles last year. So he was definitely not just a proactive scrambler, but a smart and decisive one in the like low red zone there. So, man, I, I think those guys, like, yeah, these are some players, like, there are obvious ones, right? Fields, we know. Anthony Richardson, we know they're gonna, we're gonna boost those guys because they're big time rushers. Even Boniks at this point, like, that's why he's going in the top 80 picks right now. We know those guys are runners, but there's a few others in this list that I think people might not necessarily expect. Close

Former Wisconsin quarterback returns to NFL roster
The San Francisco 49ers signed former Wisconsin quarterback Tanner Mordecai on Friday. In a corresponding move, the team placed wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown on injured reserve. Mordecai spent just three days off the 49ers' roster; the team waived him back on Aug. 4 in a busy day of roster moves. The former Wisconsin signal-caller will now enter his second season with the 49ers. He spent the 2024 campaign primarily on the its practice squad after originally signing as an undrafted free agent after the 2024 NFL draft. Current depth chart projections have Mordecai slotted in as the 49ers' fourth-string quarterback, behind starter Brock Purdy, backup Mac Jones and third-string Carter Bradley. Bradley and Mordecai are likely to see significant snaps when the team takes the field for its preseason opener on Saturday against the Denver Broncos. Mordecai is looking for a steady NFL home after an extensive collegiate career. He originally signed with the Oklahoma Sooners as a four-star recruit in the class of 2018. After three years of limited action with the Sooners, he transferred to claim the starting job at SMU. There, he broke out with a 3,628-yard, 39-touchdown 2021 season and a 3,524-yard, 33-touchdown 2022 campaign. The veteran finally transferred to Wisconsin for the 2023 campaign. Ushering in the first year of Phil Longo's air raid offense, Mordecai completed 65% of his passes for 2,066 yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions. His season was partially defined by a broken hand suffered in mid-October. As a result, he and Longo's air raid offense were never able to get off the ground. Mordecai should get valuable opportunities to cement his place on the 49ers' 53-man roster during the three-game preseason schedule. He is one of two former Badger quarterbacks needing to showcase several strong performances to make the team, along with Graham Mertz (Houston Texans). George Kittle makes Brock Purdy promise after $265 million 49ers contract
The post George Kittle makes Brock Purdy promise after $265 million 49ers contract appeared first on ClutchPoints. The San Francisco 49ers had a disappointing 2024 campaign. San Fran only won six games, missed the playoffs, and finished last in the NFC West. The 49ers are hopeful that their young core of players, led by QB Brock Purdy, can get them back to the postseason in 2025. 49ers tight end George Kittle made a bold promise about quarterback Brock Purdy after his massive contract extension. 'We all still have something to prove every single day,' Kittle said Tuesday on Up & Adams with Kay Adams. 'So, for the people that like saying that, you know, 'He's got something to prove,' good for them. I think Brock is just gonna continue to elevate his game and continue to play at a high level. That's all we really care about. I want to be around guys that strive to be better every single day. I don't like being around people who are content because complacency is not a good thing in a locker room. So, if our players are continually practicing their asses off, continually getting better every single day, and they have the desire to get better every day, I'm in a great room, I'm in a great building. So, I'm just happy to be around guys that are like that, and Brock is definitely one of those guys.' Purdy has been sensational for the 49ers ever since being drafted as Mr. Irrelevant in 2022. His breakout season came in 2023, when he passed for 4,280 yards and 31 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. The 49ers rewarded him with a $265 million contract extension earlier this offseason. It will keep him in San Francisco through the 2029 NFL season. George Kittle brushes aside questions about Purdy's 49ers contract being 'worth it' Kittle is clearly a big believer in Purdy. During the same interview, he brushed aside questions about whether Purdy's contract is 'worth it' for the 49ers. 'Our team has done such a good job of building our culture of get into the building, grind, work really, really hard, attack every single day and the outside noise will take care of itself,' Kittle said. 'People like to talk about stuff. I think playing quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers is one of the biggest spotlights in sports because of the guys that played before us. I think that's just what comes with the job. It is what it is. I'm not too worried about Brock.' Purdy is already putting in extra work. 'He was in Nashville with me a bunch this year,' Kittle added. 'We got to run a bunch of routes together, work out together, and that is one determined person. His work ethic has been awesome. Just looking forward to getting back in the building with him next week.' It will be exciting to see if the 49ers can get back to the playoffs during the 2025 NFL season.
