Brunch review: Golden Ticket Brunch in Dubai
If your kid's idea of a good day out is an afternoon packed with sweets, chocolates and marshmallows (duh), then this is one for your gang. You'll feel as if you've won the golden ticket, quite literally.
Inspired by Willy Wonka and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Golden Ticket Brunch at Fairmont The Palm is one family event where we advise you to embrace the oh-so-sweet theme from the start. Quell those sugar crash fears and dive right in.
Whether you've seen the film, read the book or not, you probably have an idea of what you've in for.

There's a chocolate fountain (not quite a river like the story, but that's probably for the best, we don't want an Augustus Gloop-style incident after all), candyfloss, toffee apples, cakes, cookies and more – even a pick and mix bar. Who doesn't love one of those, whatever your age?
Each table is also appropriately dressed for the occasion, with a sweet centrepiece comprising of a jar of marshmallows to graze on throughout the day. Good luck with getting them to eat their greens after that, however. You've been warned.
Aside from the plethora of treats, the food on the whole is of decent quality. Salmon encroute, roast beef, pasta, curry etc – all the usual suspects are there.
The sushi station and raw bar is a highlight, as is the cheese table (it's tucked away, so don't miss it).
It's been a while since Fairmont's all-day dining spot Flow Kitchen has hosted a brunch and it's back in full swing. For a light, bright and airy atmosphere, opt for a seat on the terrace soaked in sunshine (the indoor area can be rather dark). Service and price points are around what you'd expect for the brunch, too.

A roaming magician will flummox the little ones, while there's a ribbon twirler, live singer and bubbles, too. There are no shows here as at other family brunches, but there's plenty to while away a few hours on a Saturday afternoon.
A sweet factory-themed brunch is always going to mean it's treat day, so settle in and have some fun. Once everyone's eaten and smiling (as they will be) it's time to depart happy and full (and hope to avoid the danger nap on the way home). A golden ticket, indeed.

Tulisa to recount drugs trial in new memoir detailing her career highs and lows
The pop singer, 36, who found fame in hip-hop trio N-Dubz, was arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs in 2013, but the charges were later dismissed after prosecution witness, 'fake sheikh' journalist Mazher Mahmood, was found guilty of tampering with evidence in the trial. The book, titled Judgement, has been written using journals that Contostavlos wrote in amid the media storm following the sting operation that saw Mahmood pose as a wealthy film producer called Samir Khan. In an Instagram video on Tuesday, Contostavlos said: '90% of this no one has ever known. She wrote in the caption: 'As you all know, I've been through the highs and some unimaginable lows in my career. 'For the first time, I'm sharing everything. Publishing director, Ciara Lloyd, who has acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to the book, said: 'When I read Tulisa's proposal, I knew instantly that I wanted to publish her. 'I remember the infamous 'Fake Sheikh' trial well and how unfairly Tulisa was treated, a story that highlighted the bias and misogyny in the press, and in our society. 'So, to give a voice to Tulisa and her story as well as showcase her phenomenal talent as a writer is a real privilege. 'This is the perfect redemption story for the original Female Boss, and I'm so proud to be publishing her at Blink.' Contostavlos is most known for singing in hip-hop group N-Dubz who had hits with songs including I Need You, Girls and Number 1, featuring Tinchy Stryder. In 2011 she became a judge on popular reality singing series The X Factor and a year later she released her debut solo album, The Female Boss. She also released the book, Honest: My Story So Far: The Official Autobiography, in 2012, which detailed her life growing up on a council estate in London, to making music with N-Dubz, and helping girl group Little Mix win The X Factor in 2011. While some claimed he was simply joking, many slammed the Canadian singer over his comments. He soon replaced the caption with a shrugging emoji.
