'David and Victoria Beckham's spooky similarities to royals before new titles'
Arise Sir David Beckham! At last a knighthood for Golden Balls and the nation's golden boy. Our favourite footballer is looking more regal by the day.
Snapped a couple of weeks ago alongside the King and legendary gardener Alan Titchmarsh at the Royal Chelsea Flower show, Becks has been putting in hard graft as an ambassador for the King's Foundation. Already an OBE, in February he even enjoyed a private dinner at Highgrove, the King's Gloucestershire pad.
Becks learnt long ago that all good things require time and effort. (Lest we forget, unlike some, he queued over night to pay his respects to the late Queen.) But David's devotion to monarchy goes further that glad-handing and good photo-ops. Long dubbed celebrity royalty, the Beckhams have recently acquired an uncanny resemblance to the King and Queen.
A bit like the House of Windsor, once upon a time the Beckham's large brood was function personified. Not many more. Like the King himself, David discovered that when his darling boy Brooklyn married an American actress (use the term loosely) things would never be the same again!
Apparently Posh and Becks don't like Nicola Peltz. And she doesn't have much time for them. Brooklyn didn't make any of his father's 50 birthday events. (At least Harry rocked up for the coronation). Then Romeo waded in – two brothers feuding!
Where have we heard that before? Cue lots of sexist muttering about a dim son being controlled by an ambitious American woman. Echoes of the past.
No wonder Harry and Meghan have taken the young pair under their wing in Montecito. They are so well suited. One couple owns a hot sauce company, the other peddles jams and you can read ALL about it on Instagram. The Californian friendship was only a matter of time, after all the Sussexes' spat with David and Victoria (over leaks to the press apparently) left space for new friends.
Meanwhile back in Britain, the King's heart must have sung when he saw Beloved Becks on his Birthday Honours List. First mooted for a knighthood in 2011 (blocked after implications in a tax avoidance scheme for which he has now been cleared) David is a national hero, a big royal fan, and, like the king, a beleaguered father.
Poor David, his family woes are proof (if any were needed) that money does not always buy happiness, but surely the titles will help restore order.
From today Victoria and David aren't any old Beckhams, they are Sir and Lady Beckham. Brooklyn and Nicola now have their work cut out. Last time I checked, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not at liberty to bestow titles.

Sue Cleaver reflects on '25 years of laughs' after Coronation Street exit
Eileen Grimshaw had a special send-off during Friday's episode of the soap, where she was seen leaving for Thailand alongside her son Jason Grimshaw, played by Ryan Thomas. Simon Gregson's character Steve McDonald, Tony Maudsley's George Shuttleworth, and Eileen's son Todd, played by Gareth Pierce, all said goodbye to the matriarch before drivers from the local taxi firm honked their horns as she was driven off. In an Instagram post, Cleaver said: 'Well… that's a wrap. 25 years of laughs, tears, costumes, chaos — and one unforgettable journey. A post shared by Sue Cleaver (@officialsuecleaver) 'I'll miss this character like crazy, but what a ride it's been. Thank you for every moment.' Cleaver has played the outspoken and uncomplicated Eileen in the ITV show since 2000. Eileen came to Weatherfield to work at the local taxi firm, Streetcars, to provide for her two tearaway teenage children, Jason and Todd. She soon became friends with her boss Steve and came into conflict with Helen Worth's character Gail Rodwell (also known as Gail Platt). Cleaver took part in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2022, where she opened up about reconciling with her birth mother, and was eliminated third. She also said her family is 'bizarrely interconnected' to other Coronation Street stars, including Worth who is godmother to one of her half-sisters, while her other half-sister's husband, John Bowe, appeared on the cobbles as Duggie Ferguson. In 2024, she released a book A Work In Progress in which she discusses how she feels she is not past her prime. In recent years she has appeared as a panellist on ITV chat show Loose Women.

Meghan Markle shares video of her, Prince Harry and their kids at Disneyland
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, continues to share sweet snippets of her family life with husband Prince Harry and their two kids, Archie and Lilibet. In her latest Instagram post, the former Meghan Markle shared a video collage filled with photos of their trip to Disneyland for their daughter's fourth birthday. 'Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!' Meghan captioned her post Friday. The video, set to Peggy Lee's 'It's a Good Day,' shows Lilbet and Archie meeting Elsa and Anna from 'Frozen.' In all the pictures she included of their little ones, their faces are obscured or covered with a heart. The recap of their trip to the Happiest Place on Earth also includes the family on rides like Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the Cars Land ride and many more. There's also a silly photo of Meghan and Harry screaming while on Space Mountain. The two are sitting front row with their mouths wide open — yet appearing like they're having fun. And the festivities continued for the family of four. Meghan also shows Lilibet's 'Little Mermaid' birthday cake, their Mickey and Minnie stuffed dolls, the corn dogs and pickles they munched on during their trip and several other family photos from the park. Among the cutest is one of all four posing together, in which Lilibet is barefoot and in a pink dress with bows. The latest look into Meghan's personal home life comes after she celebrated her daughter's birthday on June 4. The former 'Suits' star shared a number of photos of her little girl from when she was born to their most recent adventures together. There were also snaps of Harry and his 'favorite adventurer' holding hands. 'Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives — and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!' Meghan wrote in her first post. Additionally, she also posted a never-before-seen video of when she was pregnant with Lilibet and dancing with Harry at the hospital in hopes to induce labor. 'Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work — there was only one thing left to do!' she captioned the fun and rare video of them. Meghan returned to Instagram on Jan. 1 after leaving the platform in early 2018 during her highly publicized engagement to Harry. Among her posts include family photos, outings and news about her podcast, Netflix projects and more.
