Comedy superstar John Mulaney has launched his live celebrity talk show on Netflix.
Everybody's Live with John Mulaney is set to air every Thursday for 12 consecutive weeks.
The show promises a spontaneous feel as its host, co-showrunner and executive producer is set to interview celebrities to a live studio audience, in addition to the global audience at home.
'It's a fun feeling to know that hopefully a lot of people are watching, and it's live, globally, with no delays, and you could really damage your career!' John jokingly said. 'It feels like there's more at stake, I love that. It's the best,' he added.
The idea for the show began as an experiment. The stand-up comedian had earlier hosted the talk show Everybody's in LA during the Netflix Comedy Festival last year, which had a similar premise and ran for six episodes.
The 42 year-old rose to prominence as a writer for the sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2008 to 2013, and returned to host the show six times following his departure.
He won two Primetime Emmy Awards for outstanding writing for a variety special for his two comedy specials Kid Gorgeous (2018) and Baby J (2023).
John has also done voice acting roles for several animated projects including the character Big Jack Horner in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022).

‘Squid Game' Director Honoured at Gotham Awards for Global Impact

Hwang Dong-hyuk, the visionary behind Netflix's global sensation Squid Game, was awarded the prestigious Creator Tribute at the Gotham Awards in New York on Monday, in recognition of his groundbreaking contribution to television. Accepting the award in English, Hwang described the continuing success of Squid Game as 'a miracle,' reflecting on how a once-rejected Korean script became a worldwide phenomenon over 12 years. 'Four years ago, when Squid Game won the Breakthrough Series Award, I called it a miracle,' Hwang said. 'Standing here again tonight, I believe that miracle still continues.' Hwang's remarks struck a humble tone, especially when reflecting on the meaning behind the Gotham trophy. 'It's not shiny or fancy like an Emmy or an Oscar,' he said. 'But it reminds us not to be blinded by the glamor of success and to carry the responsibility that comes with it.' Actor Lee Jung-jae, who portrays the main character Seong Gi-hun, introduced Hwang during the ceremony. 'What sets Squid Game apart is the depth of Director Hwang's vision,' Lee said, praising the series for its sharp critique of inequality and human resilience beneath its thrilling exterior. The Creator Tribute, a category introduced in 2023, honours creators who challenge the limits of television. The Gotham Awards committee described Hwang's work as 'high-stakes storytelling combined with sharp cultural commentary.'

Jamie Foxx ‘flipped' when he read wild rumours about his health scare

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Jamie Foxx 'flipped' when he read wild rumours about his health scare during his hospital stay. The 57-year-old Hollywood actor fell ill in Atlanta, Georgia in 2023 while he was in town filming his Netflix movie 'Back in Action' and it was later revealed he'd suffered a stroke which left him in a coma for almost three weeks, but at the time his family kept details of his health battle secret - putting his illness down to a 'medical complication' - and it led to fervent online speculation about what hap - pened to him. Jamie has now revealed he read some of the rumours while he was in hospital and one story in particular freaked him out. Speaking at The Hollywood Reporter's StandUp Comedy Roundtable event, Jamie explained: 'I was doing so many jokes in the hospital. That's the only way I could get through it. 'I'm a comic, so even when I was heavily sedated, and they gave me OxyContin, Dilantin and morphine at the same time … it was: 'This is for your pain, and this is so you don't remember it' ... 'I snuck in my phone because I didn't know what the outside world was saying and I couldn't get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I'm in perfect shape ... '[I saw rumours like] 'Puffy tried to kill me'. No, Puffy didn't try to kill me.' Jamie went on to add he saw another rumour suggesting he was 'a clone' and 'that made me flip.'

Kanye West Declares He's 'Done with Anti-Semitism'

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Kanye West says he is 'done with anti-Semitism' and is seeking peace and forgiveness after months of backlash over his controversial remarks and actions. The rapper, who had previously faced heavy criticism for praising Adolf Hitler and promoting hate symbols like the swastika on merchandise, appeared to have had a change of heart. On X (formerly Twitter), Kanye posted a series of messages reflecting on his behavior and expressing remorse. 'I am done with antisemitism. I love all people,' he wrote. 'God forgive me for the pain I've caused. I forgive those who have caused me pain. Thank you, God.' He continued: 'The earth itself is in God's Kingdom. GOD CALLS FOR PEACE. Share peace. Share love.' Kanye said this transformation came after a FaceTime video call with his four children — North (11), Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (6) — whom he shares with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. 'I simply got a FaceTime from my kids and I wanna save the world again,' he added. This isn't the first time Kanye has backtracked on his previous views. In February, he publicly stated he was 'not a Nazi' after what he described as 'further reflection.' His recent remarks also appear to respond to a moment from the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary special. During the event, comedian Adam Sandler — whose family is Jewish — made a veiled reference to Kanye, joking: '50 years of finding out your favorite musician's antisemitic.' In response, Kanye tweeted: 'Adam Sandler thank you for the love.'
