Jamie Foxx 'flipped' when he read wild rumours about his health scare during his hospital stay.
The 57-year-old Hollywood actor fell ill in Atlanta, Georgia in 2023 while he was in town filming his Netflix movie 'Back in Action' and it was later revealed he'd suffered a stroke which left him in a coma for almost three weeks, but at the time his family kept details of his health battle secret - putting his illness down to a 'medical complication' - and it led to fervent online speculation about what hap - pened to him.
Jamie has now revealed he read some of the rumours while he was in hospital and one story in particular freaked him out. Speaking at The Hollywood Reporter's StandUp Comedy Roundtable event, Jamie explained: 'I was doing so many jokes in the hospital. That's the only way I could get through it.
'I'm a comic, so even when I was heavily sedated, and they gave me OxyContin, Dilantin and morphine at the same time … it was: 'This is for your pain, and this is so you don't remember it' ...
'I snuck in my phone because I didn't know what the outside world was saying and I couldn't get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I'm in perfect shape ... '[I saw rumours like] 'Puffy tried to kill me'. No, Puffy didn't try to kill me.'
Jamie went on to add he saw another rumour suggesting he was 'a clone' and 'that made me flip.'

‘It was mind-blowing': Jamie Lee Curtis cherished getting to sit in the front row at the Oscars

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Jamie Lee Curtis 'never thought' that she would get to sit in the front row at the Oscars. The 66-year-old star took home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2023 for her part in the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once and recalled how the most exciting part of the ceremony was when she and her co-stars found out they would be sitting in prime position for the show. Jamie told AARP The Magazine: 'As soon as Ke (Huy Quan) and Steph Hsu and Michelle Yeoh came and sat in the same row, I literally walked up to each one of them and I went, 'Ke, where are we?' And he said, 'We're at the Oscars.' 'And where are you sitting?' And he said, 'In the front row.' '(They) never, ever, ever thought that they would be sitting in the front row at the Academy Awards as nominees. That moment for me was the whole thing. It was mind-blowing. And still is.' Jamie is the daughter of actors Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis and felt that her Oscars triumph was even more special as she had first-hand experience of the negative side of the industry. The Halloween actress said: 'I was raised in show business, a business that is ageist, misogynist and pigeonholing. 'I've watched the sad reality when show business no longer wants you. I watched it with my parents, who went from the height of their intense fame to nobody wanting them anymore.'

Jennifer Love Hewitt felt ‘anxious' about I Know What You Did Last Summer return

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Jennifer Love Hewitt admits she felt anxious about how fans would react to her return in the new I Know What You Did Last Summer movie. The 46-year-old actress reprises her iconic role as Julie James in the latest installment of the horror franchise — but she says she was hesitant at first. 'All of my friends had to talk me into it,' she told Vulture. 'Literally up until the last night before shooting, they were like, 'You know you're going tomorrow, right?'' Hewitt first played the role in the original 1997 film, but returning decades later brought new concerns — mainly about aging in the public eye. 'What people were going to say about how much older I would seem than when I was 18 — that's literally the only thing I was anxious about,' she admitted. She also revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that she initially questioned the purpose of bringing Julie back. 'I was hesitant at first. I wanted to make sure that she fit into the movie in the right way and that there was a reason for her to come back besides just the '90s nostalgia moment,' she said. 'I wanted her part in the movie to matter and for the audience to feel like they were proud of who she has become.' Jennifer said she was happy with how her character evolved. 'She's exactly who I thought she would be and who I wanted her to be, honestly.' Interestingly, she didn't want Julie to appear fully healed from past traumas. 'As weird as it sounds, it was really important for me to not see a Julie James that had healed her trauma. She needed to stay in trauma... so this version of her feels right.' Despite playing the same character, Jennifer said it felt like stepping into a new role. 'What's beautiful about this movie is that she feels like the same person from the original movie, but she also feels like a new character in some ways because of all the time that's gone by.' To prepare, she rewatched the original — this time with her kids. 'It was my kids' first horror movie. They really wanted to watch it together... so it was really fun and exciting and interesting to go back and watch that girl on the road that night.'

Pete Davidson risked ‘real damage' to his eye on The Home

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Pete Davidson risked 'real damage' to his eye filming The Home xThe 31-year-old star was shocked to discover that one particular scene in his new horror movie, which entailed a needle being held above his peeper while it was held open, wouldn't be done using CGI - and grew even more worried when he arrived on set for filming to see a team of three doctors looking 'a little concerned'. Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he said: 'Obviously, I read the script and was just like, 'That won't be my eye. This is the movies. It'll be a CGI eye.' You can bring people back from the dead and put them in a movie. That's not my eye.' Of seeing the doctors on set, he added: 'I'm like, 'What's going on?' And my buddy James [DeMonaco], who directed it, he's like, 'Yeah, well. They're here for your eye.' 'And I was like, 'What do you mean?' He goes, 'Well, you know, today's that scene.' I go, 'I know, but what do you mean?' He's like, 'Well, it's going to be your eye.' 'He goes, 'You have very recognisable eyes.' I go, 'What the hell are you talking about? No I don't. My eyes are normal, sir.' ' Pete tried unsuccessfully to argue that no one would expect it to be his eye in the scene but ultimately found himself with it being held open in a way he compared to A Clockwork Orange. He continued: 'They open my eye or whatever, and it's all... It's all jacked up. And there's these three doctors on the side, and then this actor was messing up his lines. And I was like, 'Come on, dude.' ' And while they filmed, Pete heard a doctor warn the director: 'Yeah, about 30 more seconds, there's going to be some real damage.' He continued: 'So I take the thing off. I'm like, you know, squirting it with water and stuff, I'm like, 'What the hell just happened?' 'Then we're watching it in video village, and the director goes, 'Yeah, it didn't have to be your eyes.' I was like, 'Dude...' ' Despite his struggles with the scene, the former Saturday Night Live star relished the chance to do 'just a straight horror movie'. He added: 'I had a really good time, and it was just weird. It's a weird one.'
