Eight Corvettes stolen from plant in Bowling Green
HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A call about a missing Corvette led to the discovery of eight Corvettes being allegedly stolen from the Corvette plant in Bowling Green.
According to an investigation synopsis, dispatch received a call from the Warren County Sheriff's Office stating deputies had located what was believed to be a stolen Corvette from the Corvette plant. A deputy claimed they received a call from a woman who told dispatch that a young black male in all black clothing drove up in a red brand-new Corvette with the sticker still on it.
The woman said the male got out of the vehicle and took off back to an apartment complex on Plano Road.
The manager was able to confirm the vehicle was one from their lot. Officials received word that another Corvette was allegedly found near the 500 building.
A reported inventory search confirmed eight stolen Corvettes. An officer reportedly located a dark orange Corvette on Anise Lane.

Officials state authorities were able to make contact with an apartment owner that had a camera. The footage allegedly showed all three vehicles coming into the complex. The footage also allegedly showed a white male get out, wearing a green pullover sweatshirt with a red shirt under it, grey sweatpants and a hood.
The apartment owner then called, claiming he had gone out to try and help find the other five Corvettes and had located two more in the 200 block of Cumberland Trace. Two Corvettes that were reported as black and blue were found.
Officials say dispatch then received a call from a transport driver that he had two males who scheduled for him to transport one 2017 Corvette to Michigan. He claimed when he arrived, the subject (later identified as Deantae Walker) had three brand new 2025 Corvettes waiting for transport. He also claimed he was being rushed while he was loading the vehicles, he saw that they had damage on the bottom of them, categorizing the interaction starting to seem 'weird'.
Walker was detained by officers after a chase in the parking lot. The other suspect allegedly fled the scene in a Jeep with Ohio tags. The last three Corvettes were reported accounted for.
Officials state the estimated total for all eight vehicles was $1.2 million.
Walker was transported and booked into the Warren County Regional Jail.

Illinois bill would allow traffic cameras to investigate human trafficking
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Traffic cameras could be used to investigate human trafficking in Illinois, according to a bill passed this year. House Bill 3339 would allow state police to use 'automatic license plate readers' in cases involving human trafficking. State Police can run license plate numbers through several law enforcement databases and alert officers if there is a match. The bill expands a law that allows police to use cameras to investigate other crimes across the state. Over $85,000 in unpaid construction wages recovered in Saline County Illinois State Police Director Brendan Kelly said in a committee hearing on the bill, 'It's very focused on specific types of crime. It's not for speeding, it's not for traffic enforcement, this is for serious offenses, and we use it in a limited and focused way and in a highly effective way.' The bill would also require ISP to delete images obtained from the cameras from the ISP databases within 120 days, with exceptions to images used for ongoing investigations or criminal trials. It also bars images obtained through automatic license plate readers from being accessible through the Freedom of Information Act. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Fact Check: Don't fall for old footage showing burning police cars in Los Angeles
Claim: A video authentically showed burning, graffitied police cars during protests in Los Angeles in June 2025. Rating: Context: The footage showed protests in LA following the death of George Floyd in May 2020 — not June 2025 protests over immigration enforcement actions. In June 2025, as immigration enforcement actions sparked protests in Los Angeles, a claim (archived) circulated that a video authentically showed burning, graffitied police cars during protests in the city in June 2025. (X user @DramaAlert) One X user posted the footage on June 8, 2025, captioned "Absolute CHAOS in Los Angeles right now…" The footage circulated widely on X (archived) but also appeared on Facebook (archived). However, the footage claiming to show protests in June 2025 was miscaptioned. Though the footage was authentic and showed protests in LA, it originally featured in news reports on protests following the death of George Floyd in May 2020. The police vehicles seen in the footage can be identified by their roof numbers that corresponded to 2020, not 2025 footage. A snippet of the footage appeared in an NBC News report from May 31, 2020, at time code 0:35. The footage showed cars 504 and 658, which also appeared in the footage circulating in June 2025. Car 504 had its hood open and Car 658 was on fire — identical features to the June 2025 footage. An NBC picture gallery from the same May 2020 date also featured a screenshot from the footage (Image 42) that again featured cars 504 and 658. The image gallery credited the footage to NBC4 and Telemundo 52. Though this exact video didn't show protests in 2025, pictures from the reputable photo agency Getty Images showed a similar lineup of police cars near a motorway overpass during protests over immigration enforcement actions in LA in June 2025. According to a report from The Associated Press, protesters threw "chunks of concrete, rocks, electric scooters and fireworks" at officers and vehicles parked on the closed U.S. Highway 101 as officers ran for cover. This isn't the only miscaptioned footage purportedly showing burning cars during the June 2025 LA protests we've fact-checked. Fact Check: Video doesn't show people setting Jeep on fire during LA protests
Claim: A video authentically showed people setting a Jeep on fire during June 2025 protests in Los Angeles over immigration enforcement. Rating: Context: While the video of people setting fire to a Jeep in Los Angeles is real, it was not filmed during the June 2025 immigration protests. The video was taken in March 2024 during a street takeover in Los Angeles' Hyde Park neighborhood. In June 2025, a video circulated on X claiming to show people in Los Angeles dousing a Jeep with gasoline and lighting it on fire. The video was shared as thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in Los Angeles to protest immigration raids led by U.S. President Donald Trump's administration. The footage appeared in a popular X post (archived) that read, "OVERNIGHT IN LA: Low IQ Illegal Aliens light themselves on FIRE after dousing Jeep with gasoline and lighting it. Do you feel bad for these guys?" (X user @OcrazioCornPop) The claim also appeared elsewhere on (archived) X (archived). However, the video was miscaptioned. While the footage is authentic and was captured in Los Angeles, it does not show people dousing a Jeep in gasoline and setting it on fire amid the June 2025 protests. It was taken in March 2024 during an unrelated street takeover in Los Angeles. Using InVid to isolate keyframes of the viral video and RevEye to conduct a reverse image search, Snopes traced the footage back to the March 2024 incident. The reverse image search led us to a Daily Mail article published on March 15, 2024. The article included screenshots from a video that showed a Jeep doused in gasoline and set on fire during a street takeover in Los Angeles' Hyde Park neighborhood. The Daily Mail credited the footage to a TikTok user. Snopes found an Instagram account with the same username that shared the footage of a Jeep set on fire in a post on March 9, 2024. We also conducted a Google search using details from the Daily Mail article to find further reporting on the incident. That led us to an article published by Los Angeles news station KABC on March 12, 2024, that includes footage of the incident. The video in the KABC article and on TikTok appear to be captured from a different angle than the footage shared in June 2025, but the videos clearly show the same incident. The person pouring the gasoline on the Jeep is wearing the same beanie and red coat in the KABC and TikTok videos and the footage shared in June 2025. A street sign for 63rd Street also is visible in all of the videos. Though Snopes could not verify the source of the video circulating on X in June 2025, there was enough evidence to show it was filmed before the 2025 protests in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Police Department said the street takeover where the video was captured occurred at the intersection of 63rd Street and Crenshaw Boulevard in the early hours of March 9, 2024, according to KABC. Police said about 50 cars were involved in the street takeover and the crowd was already dispersing when officers arrived. Snopes reached out to the LAPD for additional information about the video and incident, and is awaiting a response. While the video of the Jeep is miscaptioned, protesters did set self-driving cars on fire during June 2025 clashes with federal immigration authorities in Los Angeles, The Associated Press reported.
