Police and emergency services were called to the D'Aguilar Highway at Nukku in the South Burnett region, located around 174km from Brisbane, about 5.50am following reports of a crash between two heavy trucks. The driver of the fuel tanker, a man aged in his 50s, was critically injured and died at the scene.
