Miley Cyrus hasn't forgotten about the penis cake that cost her a job.
While appearing on Monica Lewinsky's podcast this week, the 32-year-old singer spoke about being fired from the 'Hotel Transylvania' franchise when she was 18 after a photo emerged of her with a penis cake for her then-boyfriend and now-ex-husband Liam Hemsworth's birthday.

'I, as a joke, got my boyfriend a penis cake for his birthday and I got fired,' she recalled. 'I was the lead actress in 'Hotel Transylvania' and they fired me and replaced me because I had made an inappropriate adult joke. But I was 18.'
'So yes I was fine to work in a kids movie, but I'm not a kid,' Cyrus added.

The 'Hannah Montana' star was initially cast as Mavis Dracula in Sony Pictures' first 'Hotel Transylvania' film that came out in 2012.
But after the penis cake photo made headlines, she was replaced by fellow Disney Channel alum Selena Gomez, who starred alongside Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Kevin James and more.

'What felt ridiculous to me about getting fired for a penis cake was that they sell penis cakes for all bachelorettes,' Cyrus pointed out. 'In Nashville, Tennessee, you can get penis cakes. It's not that big of a deal.'
'So I thought this is a very simple, not vulgar joke. This is silly,' she continued. 'You can do this for all bachelorette parties. They make necklaces and cups and straws and all kinds of stuff. It felt ridiculous.'

Cyrus went on, 'But to be fired for regular things that girls my age, they go to bachelorette parties and they do this. They go to Magic Mike shows. But at that time, I wasn't someone that was appropriate for kids, even though that was in my personal life.'
The Grammy winner also noted that the photo leaked because her backpack and her camera were stolen at a party.
'[It was] nothing I posted,' she said. 'I was at a private event at a private party and I got robbed. It's not cool.'

Cyrus first revealed the nature behind her 'Hotel Transylvania' firing on Twitter in 2019. At the time, a Sony source told The Hollywood Reporter that Cyrus indeed lost her job because of the penis cake photo and that studio bosses were allegedly nervous about her leading a family-film franchise when she was breaking away from her Disney Channel persona.

On the podcast, Cyrus opened up about how she reacted to losing the job.
'At the time, I remember I jumped in the pool and said, 'I'm not gonna come up until you guys get me my job back,'' she recalled. 'It was really upsetting me. I was with my lawyer and my manager at the time and they were freaking out because they didn't realize how much it was hurting me until that moment when they realized I had said what I said.'
The 'Flowers' singer added that she started seeing a therapist that same year who helped her 'work through' moments like the penis cake controversy.

'I didn't want to go underwater and not come up,' she said. 'Those moments are real for me. Now they're funny, but they definitely weren't funny then.'
When asked if she thinks a similar situation could happen today, Cyrus responded, 'I don't know if we put our Disney kids on the pedestal the way that we used to, our teen stars But I think that still movies can have consequences for their lead actor or actress doing things that don't align with the audience that the movie is made for.'

Earlier in the podcast, Cyrus revealed she lost a deal with Walmart as a teen because of a video of her with a bong.
'I had to email the Walmart CEO and apologize for being 16 and smoking weed, which most 16-year-olds do,' she said.

Rabid BTS fan tries to break into Jungkook's home hours after K-pop star discharged from mandatory military service

Surprise K-pop-in. A rabid K-Pop fan tried to break into the apartment of BTS member Jeon 'Jungkook' Jung-Kook just hours after he was released from mandatory service in the South Korean military, according to a report. A Chinese woman in her thirties was picked up by Seoul police around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday as she repeatedly tried to enter the security code of Jungkook's apartment door, The Korea Times reported. 3 Jungkook, 27, was discharged from the South Korean Army on Tuesday and had a rabid fan attempting to break into his Seoul apartment on Wednesday, cops said. AP The woman told police that she traveled all the way to the South Korean capital from mainland China to celebrate the 27-year-old pop star's military release after 18 months of service, the outlet reported. Wednesday's attempted break-in is just the latest in an ongoing series of obsessive fans flirting with criminality in efforts to reach members of BTS. Overly enthusiastic fans repeatedly sent food to Jungkook's home in 2023 and during a tour stop in Las Vegas, they incessantly called his hotel room in a stunt he called 'scary,' the Korea Times reported. Jungkook and his bandmate Jimin, 29, were discharged from the South Korean Army on Tuesday as six of the seven-member, internationally popular supergroup finished up their mandatory civil service this month. 3 BTS members Jungkook and Jimin pose in their fatigues as they are discharged from their mandatory 18-month service. Getty Images Photos show the pair proudly saluting in their fatigues — but Jungkook revealed the once familiar flashbulbs now seem foreign. 'Actually, it's been so long since I've been in front of cameras, and I didn't even put on makeup, so I'm a bit embarrassed,' Jungkook told reporters, adding, 'I don't know what to say.' Jungkook and Jimin began their brief military careers in December 2023. BTSers RM, 30, and V, 29, exchanged their camo for sequins on Tuesday, and the band's lead rapper Suga, 32, will complete his mandatory civil service as a social service agent on June 21. 'J-Hope', 31, completed his military service in October 2024. 3 BTS fans were wait to greet Jungkook and Jimin as they ended their civil service and rejoined the ranks of pop stardom. Getty Images The wildly successful K-Pop group put their music career on hold in 2022 with the members complying with the Asian nation's civil service mandate for 18- to 28-year-old men. Millions of fans anticipate a reunion tour, but no such plans currently exist. Instead, J-Hope is currently on an international solo tour that brought him to Brooklyn in March, and Jimin is set to begin his international tour next month.

Damian Lewis on returning to ‘Wolf Hall': ‘Who doesn't want to play Henry VIII?'

'We could have all just said, 'Nah, I don't want to do it,'' Damian Lewis tells Gold Derby about returning to the Tudor court for Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light. 'But the experience in the first series [Wolf Hall] was so enjoyable — and anyway, who doesn't want to play Henry VIII?' Especially the way screenwriter Peter Straughan writes the king, by way of author Hilary Mantel's original trilogy. This Henry VIII is feckless and petulant, terrifying and sometimes touchingly vulnerable. But Lewis ensures that we never forget this is a man who could (and did) easily send close friends, confidantes, and wives to their executions. Or at the very least, years of imprisonment. More from GoldDerby The surprising scene that the 'Andor' cinematographer loved the most Clancy Brown, Joel McHale, and more actors who self-submitted at this year's Emmys 'Cross' star Aldis Hodge on building an aspirational hero - who's not a superhero 'He wants to go out, he wants to have a good time,' Lewis says. 'He wants to be with his guys and he wants to be loved, clearly.' Throughout The Mirror and the Light, Lewis makes Henry's sometimes delusional attempts at romance and courtship both misguided and moving. 'I think he really wants to love the woman that he's with and try to woo each of them with songs, poetry,' Lewis says. 'That moment of him coming in [disguised to meet fourth wife Anne of Cleves], the theatricality of that. There's something sweet about him. If that comes across then I'm pleased.' Lewis chuckles a bit and amends himself, 'Sweet in a murderous kind of way.' Jeff Spicer/BAFTA/Getty Images That ever-present threat Henry poses to everyone around him in The Mirror and the Light makes even a casual exchange with friend and advisor Thomas Cromwell fraught. And in Mark Rylance's Cromwell, Lewis has an ideal foil. ' He's the best kind of actor,' Lewis says. 'It's not pre-choreographed. It's not pre-programmed. He comes in ready in the moment to listen and respond to what you do. And I hope I did the same for him. Our scenes in this series in particular are chess scenes, really from the get go. In fact, we even have a scene over a chess board at one point. ... Working with Mark is fabulous. He's unbelievably skilled. He's Sir Mark Rylance for a reason, probably.' One of the most hypnotic aspects of Lewis' performance as Henry VIII is seeing the ways in which he takes pleasure. There's the Henry who thrives on attention, who loves a feast or a revelry. But there is also the Henry who takes delight in seeing others, and eventually especially Cromwell, unsettled. That Henry increasingly comes to the fore as his health deteriorates and he's unable to enjoy the outdoors life he previously did. The physicality of Lewis' performance is remarkably subtle, ending in the Henry that feels most familiar to how history remembers him. After debating spending the season in a fat suit, the team decided to focus more when to introduce his pronounced limp and begin the season with Henry's weight gain. The first episode picks up where Wolf Hall left off 10 years ago. "It's a slightly odd sort of psychological state to be,' Lewis says. 'Everybody knows that we're starting [with] the same day as the last series finished. But at the same time, in the hinterland of everyone's mind, it's 10 years later. We played on that and said, 'Right now's the time to create the expanded, overweight Henry. 'I actually started wearing no makeup, just so I could look as old as Henry,' Lewis adds with a laugh. 'It turned out I looked as old as Henry. They just didn't have to make me up. Who knew? I've never been so insulted.' Best of GoldDerby Tina Fey on 'The Four Seasons': 'It was a challenge to be restrained about where we put jokes' 'The best job I ever had': 'From 'Supernatural' to 'The Boys,' Eric Kripke talks his biggest hits — and miss (ahem, 'Tarzan') 'Cross' star Aldis Hodge on building an aspirational hero — who's not a superhero Click here to read the full article.

Disneyland says MrBeast's '$500,000' date was an after-hours experience

Disneyland says MrBeast's '$500,000' date was an after-hours experience Show Caption Hide Caption Disney launches new Florida resident ticket deal Walt Disney World has announced the launch of a new ticket deal for Florida residents just in time for the summer. Fox - 35 Orlando Disneyland is offering more detail about MrBeast's viral date after YouTube's most popular creator said he paid $500,000 to have the entire theme park to himself. "Disney won't just hand over their keys to anyone, but for this once-in-a-lifetime date, we were given the entire park for one night," MrBeast, the social media persona of Jimmy Donaldson, says in the video with more than 66 million views. For the video, Donaldson took this fiancée Thea Booysen on six dates ranging from $1 to $500,000, concluding with what he described as a private evening at Disneyland. MrBeast's trip was held after hours, park says MrBeast and his team visited Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California "a couple of weeks ago" for an after-hours experience at the park, a Disney spokesperson told USA TODAY on June 11. While MrBeast and his crew didn't have to face any lines or crowds, the park didn't change their normal operating hours to accommodate the influencer, either. Variations of this experience are available to all customers, including Disney After Hours, in which customers can purchase tickets for three extended hours after the park's traditional closing time. The park also offers Disney's Fair Tale Weddings & Honeymoons, which allows couples and their family to rent various venues, including The Sleeping Beauty Castle Forecourt and Small World Mall. One upcoming after-hours event is Disneyland's "Pride Nite" celebration from June 16-18. You may not get the park to yourself, but the park says guests can expect shorter wait times and special entertainment experiences. MrBeast's team did not immediately respond for comment when contacted by USA TODAY on June 11. Crocs: New Disney Crocs and Dooney & Bourke bags celebrate 70 years of Disneyland 🪄 Tourism economy: New report finds Disneyland, Disney World contribute $67B to US economy Can you actually rent out all of Disneyland? Disney did not specify if it is possible for customers to rent out the entire theme park. However, several Disney-centric blogs like Magic Guides say fans shouldn't get their hopes up about getting the park to themselves for a day. "Closing down the resort for a day would be a public relations nightmare and would severely disrupt how guests could plan and book their trips," Magic Guides' author Joshua Powell wrote. One celebrity actually did rent out the park MrBeast isn't the first and likely won't be the last celebrity to make a solo appearance at Disneyland. On Feb. 27, 1992, actress Elizabeth Taylor rented out all of Disneyland to celebrate her 60th birthday. The entire park shut down for the birthday bash, which required extra security. Hundreds of celebrities attended the party, a possible marketing win for Disney. Greta Cross is a national trending reporter at USA TODAY. Story idea? Email her at gcross@
