Revealed: Staggering beer prices at Miami Grand Prix leaves F1 fans stunned... with Conor Benn and Sir Jim Ratcliffe among those in attendance at Hard Rock Stadium

Formula One fans have been left stunned at the prices of beers at the Miami Grand Prix.
Miami is hosting Formula One fans for the fourth consecutive year, having first joined the Grand Prix calendar back in 2021.
The circuit winding around the Hard Rock Stadium - home of the NFL's Dolphins - may not win over every driver, but for fans, it's a spectacle likened to F1's answer to Coachella.
But much like those big-name events, grabbing a drink or bite to eat comes with a serious price tag.
A receipt obtained by Mail Sport's Jonathan McEvoy has revealed the steep cost of refreshments.
Supporters hoping to cool off with a cold beer will be met with staggering costs, with two 16oz Heinekens setting punters back $26 — that's $13 each, and that's before tax and tip.

Even those opting for a single 16oz Heineken Silver weren't spared, facing the same $13 price tag, with a further $3.12 in tax and a $4.21 tip added to the bill - bringing the total to a wallet-emptying $46.33 for just three beers.
Several high-profile British names are expected to attend the Miami Grand Prix, including Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, comedian Jack Whitehall and chef Gordon Ramsay.
Also spotted in the paddock was boxer Conor Benn, making an appearance just a week after suffering defeat against Chris Eubank.
Red Bull's Max Verstappen will start from pole position in Miami having secured . he fastest qualifying time.
The Dutchman pipped McLaren's Lando Norris by six-hundredths of a second just days after becoming a father.
'Becoming a dad has not slowed me down,' smiled Verstappen. 'I never listened to these silly things. I just do my thing.
'There have been enough drivers who have been champions after becoming dads. I don't know where the idea comes from.'

Steelers All-Pro DT Cameron Heyward practices with team

August 19 - Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro defensive tackle Cameron Heyward suited up and participated in team activities for the first time on Tuesday since missing training camp and preseason games in a hold-in over his contract. Head coach Mike Tomlin said Heyward was involved in team sessions after he was observed earlier in uniform and active in individual practice periods. Heyward, who was not made available to media, had attended some earlier practices in street clothes since training camp opened this month. Reports on Tuesday did not say the change indicated progress in Heyward's contract situation. The seven-time Pro Bowl selection talked to reporters on Aug. 11 and said that he wanted to be paid more this season after a career year in 2024, when he made first-team All-Pro honors for the fourth time. Heyward signed a two-year, $29 million extension with the Steelers last September. It keeps him with the team through the 2026 season. Defensive player salaries have spiked upwards and Pittsburgh linebacker T.J. Watt received a three-year, $123 million deal in the offseason with $108 million guaranteed. The $41 million annual average set a record for defensive players. The 36-year-old Heyward wants his piece of the financial pie. He has spent his entire career in Pittsburgh since the Steelers selected him in the first round (31st overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. Heyward had 71 tackles, eight sacks and a career-high 11 pass breakups last season -- the latter of which led all defensive linemen in the league. "I'm looking to be valued," Heyward said on Aug. 11. .".. I know what I bring to this team and what I'm capable of on and off the field, so it's hard for me, after the year I've had (in 2024), to really justify playing at the number I'm playing at. "I understand. I signed a contract last year, but to be completely honest with you, when I signed that, I told him when I have an All-Pro year expecting me to come back and you can look at the contract and see what it was. But I think everybody kind of giggled a little bit, but in my head, I used it as motivation to go out there and prove it." Heyward has 88.5 career sacks in 211 games (176 starts). He will likely warrant heavy Pro Football Hall of Fame consideration after his career ends. --Field Level Media

NFL fans rip into player cleared of sexual assault for his 'rehearsed' speech at first Browns press conference

Isaiah Bond is under fire from fans following what many called a 'rehearsed' speech during his first press conference on Tuesday. Bond, who joined the Cleveland Browns after sexual assault allegations against him were dropped, delivered a carefully worded statement at the press conference. But what was intended as a professional, composed introduction was quickly slammed online as overly rehearsed and lacking authenticity. Bond said: 'I am very excited to be at Cleveland Brown. I've been playing football since six and I know it's a great privilege to play in the NFL and I'm very grateful for that. 'I know there's going to be questions about the allegations, but my agent and my attorney have advised me not to go into details on that. 'Since day one I've proclaimed my innocence and I stand here today in that same way. I'm very excited to get to know my teammates and show the Cleveland Brown community why they made the right decision'. While Bond flashed a smile at the end of the speech, seemingly happy with the job he'd done, fans online sparked debate over the script. 'Someone holding up a script behind him?', one wrote. 'you know he been up all night practicing ts', another said. Another wrote: 'He got happy towards the end because he hit all his lines perfect like he practiced' One said: 'He shouldve just pulled the piece of paper out of his pocket and read directly from the script instead of this rehearsed'. Bond officially inked an NFL deal on Monday, after sexual assault allegations against the wide receiver were dropped. Bond was a highly-ranked prospect heading into this year's NFL Draft but, following his arrest in April, he was passed over by all 32 teams. But with charges against him dropped, the Cleveland Browns have now signed the rookie free-agent to a three-year, $3.018 million contract, according to Mary Kay Cabot. Fans were quick to rip into Bond on social media for the speech at the press conference Bond said: 'I know there's going to be questions about the allegations, but my agent and my attorney have advised me not to go into details on that'. In addition to Bond's fully guaranteed salary, the wideout reportedly received a $53,000 signing bonus. The Browns confirmed the signing of Bond, but did not disclose the details of his deal, in a statement. 'We've spent much of the last calendar year getting to know Isaiah as a player and professional and much of the last four months gaining a full understanding of his legal situation,' General Manager Andrew Berry said. 'On the legal side, we have done extensive research that includes but is not limited to hearing from both sides of the case and receiving the results of an independently administered polygraph test. 'Before the allegations, we also spent a great deal of time with Isaiah during the draft process on campus, at the Combine and at our facilities. 'His time at Alabama with Tommy Rees also weighed heavily on our assessment of his ability to operate successfully in a professional environment if brought into our organization. 'It is these touchpoints and more that gave us the necessary insights to make this decision. 'With his legal matter resolved through a no bill by a grand jury, Isaiah is focused on learning from this experience while moving forward with his life and career.' Bond made a name for himself at Texas with his blinding speed and later ran the 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine in just 4.39 second. He was expected to be taken on Day 2 of April's NFL Draft.

San Francisco 49ers sign Super Bowl-winning quarterback as Brock Purdy gets some extra backup

The San Francisco 49ers have signed veteran quarterback Nate Sudfeld to a one-year deal, adding depth behind starter Brock Purdy. Sudfeld, 30, returns to the Niners after previously spending time with the team in 2021 and gives the 49ers additional insurance behind Purdy, who has battled with injuries. Furthermore, according to NBC Sports Bay Area, backup quarterback Mac Jones was absent from practice after seemingly injuring his knee during Saturday's game. Sudfeld's most notable career moment may have come as a member of the Eagles, where he earned a Super Bowl ring as part of the team's 2017 title run. He served as a backup to both Carson Wentz and Nick Foles during that season and has since played for the Detroit Lions and 49ers in various capacities. His return to San Francisco suggests the front office is keen to reinforce its quarterback depth with a player already familiar with the team's playbook. A sixth-round pick by the Commanders in 2016, he has spent seven seasons in the NFL with Washington Philadelphia, San Francisco and Detroit. Over that span, he has appeared in six games, completing 25 of 37 passes for 188 yards and one touchdown. In another move, the team has placed running back Patrick Taylor Jr. on season-ending injured reserve.
