State's next CM will be BC: PCC chief
During an informal media interaction at Gandhi Bhavan while asserting that the Congress would remain in power for at least next two terms, Mahesh Goud said that BC leader could possibly become next CM of the State. Brushing aside the claims of rift with the Chief Minister, particularly in wake of the undertaking of padayatra, he termed these as malicious campaigns by the opposition. He affirmed that both himself and Revanth Reddy were unitedly battling it out for implementation of the 42 % reservations for BCs and said that both of them continue to have cordial relationship. Defending Revanth Reddy's recent statement that he would remain Chief Minister for 10 years, PCC chief said it was meant to boost public confidence in the Congress government. He opined that there has been a lot of change in the Chief Minister's behaviour, as he was a transformed person after taking office and he is a different person now compared to when he was the PCC president. He announced that the Janahita Padayatra which received 'good response' in Phase-I, will resume after August 23. He claimed a BC leader would be Telangana's next CM and dismissed rumours of a differences between him and CM Revanth Reddy.
PCC president did not clarify as to why the padayatra was being delayed until August 23, but clarified that that the event was originally his idea. He alleged that vested interests had falsely portrayed it as an AICC incharge Meenakshi Natarajan initiative.
He said that initially, the plan was to conduct a bus yatra but later the party changed it into a padayatra.
Claiming that the Janahita Padayatra, similar to Bharat Jodo Yatra, was a big hit Mahesh Goud expressed confidence that not only the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and but also LoP in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi may also join in the upcoming legs of yatra.

‘124-year-old' Minta Devi wants poll body to rectify age goof-up
Siwan's Minta Devi, who became the face of the Opposition's protest against the Election Commission on Tuesday (August 12, 2025), said she was not aware that her age in the electoral roll was recorded as 124 years. She urged the poll panel to correct it. Several Congress MPs, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, wore a T-shirt with Ms. Devi's face printed on it while protesting outside the Parliament against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls in Bihar. The Opposition leaders alleged voter fraud in various constituencies and cited Ms. Devi's case to highlight 'irregularities'. 'I do not know what is going on in the Parliament, but my date of birth mentioned in the Aadhaar card is July 15, 1990. I had given my Aadhaar to my brother-in-law who had applied online for the voter I-card two months ago,' she said. The application was made in Siwan. 'However, when I received my voter card, I did not check it. It was only when the media met me that I saw my date of birth was printed as July 15, 1900. It is the mistake of the person who has issued the voter card,' Ms. Devi said, adding that she has never voted before. She said no Booth Level Officer contacted her during the SIR. 'Those who are responsible for this blunder should rectify it and issue me a fresh voter I-card. I have not made any mistakes,' Ms. Devi said. Ms. Devi is a resident of Arjaanipur village and a voter registered in the Daraunda Assembly constituency of Siwan district. Her husband, Dhananjay Kumar Singh, is an e-rickshaw driver. The Siwan District Magistrate's office issued a press statement saying that the age shown in Ms. Devi's voter card was due to a 'human error' and it was made by her husband while filing the online form. The process of correction has already started, the statement said. 'Deputy Election Officer, Siwan, Sohail Ahmed has received the information that in polling station number 94, Siwan block under 109 Darauda Legislative Assembly constituency, Minta Devi, husband-Dhananjay Kumar Singh had filled the online application form for adding the name through Form-06,' the statement said. Ms. Devi's father-in-law Tej Bahadur Singh alleged that the BLOs were not going door-to-door for verification. 'The BLOs filled most of the enumeration form on their own. If they would have visited our house, we could have told them about the number of family members and their age,' he said.

Nikhil criticises Congress over Rajanna dismissal
Davanagere: Nikhil Kumaraswamy, president of the JD(S) State Youth Wing, criticised the dismissal of KN Rajanna from the cabinet, accusing the Congress of disrespecting the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. On Tuesday, he told reporters that the Congress, which claims to provide social justice to the scheduled castes and tribes, is not treating the leaders of these communities properly. He said, "There was an opportunity to obtain a respectful resignation from the senior leader Rajanna. Instead, he was suddenly removed from the cabinet, causing embarrassment. There is no internal democracy within the Congress party , which speaks of democracy and the Constitution." Nikhil also noted that no action was taken against ministers facing corruption charges. It's a political ploy by Cong: Raju Gouda
Surpur (Yadgir): Former minister G Raju Gouda has accused the Congress high command of conspiring to politically eliminate prominent leaders from the Valmiki community. Speaking on KN Rajanna's removal from the ministerial cabinet, Gouda told reporters in Surpur on Tuesday: "The high command is scheming to politically eliminate Valmiki community's influential leaders. After Ramesh Jarkiholi and B Nagendra, Rajanna is the latest to be politically sidelined. The next target is Satish Jarkiholi." He also defended Rajanna's assertion on the the voters' list. Claiming that disunity within the Valmiki community is the root cause of such developments, Gouda said: "In our community, we are leaders (Nayak) by birth.
