Trainer Scott Singleton was a little surprised when he saw the field for the South Grafton Cup but an inside draw for Fiorsum Fred give him hope the gelding can run a cheeky race.
Headlining the South Grafton Cup (1600m) is last start Listed Civic Stakes winner Headley Grange along with Listed Tatt's Mile runner-up Sibaaq and Big Dance runner-up Vivy Air.
'It has ended up a bit stronger race than I thought but the Big Eligibility gets them there but you have to be in it to win it,' Singleton said.
'He is down in the weights and has drawn well so we will see how we go.'
Fiorsum Fred has 54kg while Headley Grange has top weight of 62kg, Sibaaq has 61kg and Vivy Air has 59kg
The four-year-old drew barrier 5 but moved in one gate with the early scratching of Uzziah while those three rivals have drawn out on barriers 10, 8 and 13 respectively.

'It's a good draw for him because he's got enough speed to be handy so hopefully he will be just behind them with cover,' said Singleton.
'He will need the favourites to have a bit of luck go against them but he can bob up on his day and I wouldn't completely rule him out of it.'
Fiorsum Fred is no stranger to Grafton after finishing runner-up to Rapt in the Guineas last year.
The son of Fiorente heads back this weekend in better shape than his form may appear according to Singleton.
'That should have been a '1' next to his name last start at Tamworth,' he said.
'He just never got a clear crack at them at all in the straight and went to the line full of running.
'I would take him if he wasn't in really good order.'
Joining Fiorsum Fred on the trip from Scone is Beyond My Ken in the Class 1 Handicap (1006m) and Another Peach in the Maiden Plate (1410m).
Beyond My Ken showed good ability with a debut win from Manuscript and Fingers Hunter at Scone in March last year before a last to Linebacker in the Group 3 Baillieu at Rosehill.
Hen then placed third at Muswellbrook in his only run last spring before returning with two seventh placings at Scone.

'His form doesn't read as good as this horse is,' Singleton said.
'Since his first start when he won, everything has gone wrong.
'He pulled up lame at his next start at Rosehill and has had issue after issue since then.
'I've finally got him in the shape he was when he won on debut.
'He's finally drawn a good barrier too.
'I'm going there pretty confident that he is ready to do something. He's the one I'm most confident about.'
Another Peach showed handy ability in her first campaign with placings in three of her four starts.
She returned this preparation with a neck second to Kobold at Mudgee on July 6.
'It was a really sticky track and she just couldn't get away from them at the top of the straight,' said Singleton.
'Had it been a little bit drier, she probably wins but she stuck to her task well though.
'She pulled up unbelievably well and I'm confident she has come on a little bit which will have her right in the mix.
'While she has drawn out a little, the fact that her main dangers have drawn wider gives her a chance to roll across while they are covering a bit of ground which may be the difference in the end.'

ANOTHER PEACH (4) ended last campaign with three consecutive placings. Started odds-on fav when resuming at Mudgee struggled to kick away on the wet ground when a neck second. Will be better for the run and good ground. HERALD ANGEL (6) debuted with a handy second to Divas Revenge over 1200m here on June 9. TO BE FRANK (3) scored narrow but handy victories at Tamworth either side of a sixth to Boys Night Out in a TAB Highway at Rosehill. Two-time winner over this trip. Vision emerges of sacked NRL reporter's alleged crash

Footage has emerged of former Fox Sports reporter James Hooper's alleged drunken accident in Sydney. The prominent NRL reporter has been sacked by Fox Sports and subsequently stood himself down from his role with Triple M after being charged with high-range drinking offences. FOX LEAGUE, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every game of every round in the 2025 NRL Telstra Premiership, LIVE with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? Join now and get your first month for just $1. Now Channel 9 has obtained footage of the crash, which took place in Leichhardt on Thursday night and allegedly involved a number of other vehicles and Hooper's ute. Paul Green, who lives right by the accident site, is heard on the footage and told the network what he had witnessed. 'He just tried to get out of there straight away,' Green alleged. 'Put the car in reverse to try to reverse off the car he was collected on and he couldn't get off. 'So he was not really coherent. He headed up the street, unfortunately for him he headed up the wrong way. 'We lost sight of him in the dark but then he turned around and that's when the police caught up to him at the roundabout down the bottom of the hill.' Hooper is alleged to have collided with three parked cars and returned a positive breath test of 0.253, more than five times the legal limit. Hooper was the chief rugby league reporter for Fox Sports, along with roles as a columnist for Fox Sports and a sideline reporter with Triple M. Southern Cross Austereo (SCA), which owns and operates Triple M, confirmed to Hooper has opted to cut ties with the network. 'Triple M acknowledges the decision of James Hooper to stand down from his commitments with the network,' SCA Head of Sports Content Ewan Giles said. 'We thank him for his contribution.' A statement from NSW Police read: 'At 7.30pm on Thursday, police were called to Allen Street, Leichhardt following reports of a crash. 'Officers attached to Leichhardt Highway Patrol attended to find a utility had collided with three parked cars before coming to a stop.' He has been charged with high-range drink-driving and three counts of damaged property and will appear in court on September 15. The decision from Fox Sports was effective immediately, with Hooper's final appearance on NRL 360 occurring on Wednesday night this week. Fox Sports' managing director Steve Crawley confirmed the news in a statement. 'James has been a great contributor since he joined us in 2016, but he's also battled some significant personal issues from time to time,' Crawley said. 'In speaking to him today, James also acknowledges that things need to change for him.' Hooper was approached by The Daily Telegraph for comment, stating: 'I've let the game of rugby league, my employers, my wife and kids down terribly. 'Clearly I'm not handling the tough side of the job. 'Hopefully this is the punch between the eyes that will set me straight.'

NRL storm erupts as Panthers trainer caught in ‘disgraceful' act

Panthers trainer Corey Bocking has been slammed for a 'disgraceful' act in Penrith's golden point win over the Titans on Saturday afternoon. Bocking went to extreme measures to put off Titans goalkicker Jayden Campbell as he lined up for a crucial kick with just 5 minutes to go, with the Gold Coast leading 26-24. His effort to extend the lead to four was halted by Bocking, who ran directly in front of his conversion attempt, which left commentators and fans stunned. 'Oh, the trainer has just run straight in front of Jayden Campbell,' Michael Ennis said. While Andrew Voss added, 'That is disgraceful, that is absolutely disgraceful'. 'You can't make that mistake, unbelievable. Come on. Have you ever seen that? Have you ever seen that?' Voss said. 'I think he gets a second shot … that is high controversy, I don't know what action you take. That's just beyond the pale … boy, oh boy. What a moment.' Crucially, in the context of the final scoreline, Campbell missed the conversion attempt, throwing the tee in disgust. The trainer apologised, but was seen with a cheeky smirk as he ran away. After Campbell missed the conversion, Ennis delivered a line that will stick with Titans fans. 'It brings a Nathan Cleary two-point field goal right into play,' he said. And he was right, as just moments later Penrith star Nathan Cleary was able to land a huge two-point field goal to level the scoreline 26-26 and send the match to golden point. From there, a Blaize Talagi try broke the hearts of the Titans in overtime. 'They are going to win it, they have done it … Titans players strewn everywhere. Their hearts crushed,' Voss said. 'Not a field goal, not a penalty goal, but an amazing 60 metre try to win the game.' In the end, Bocking's actions proved crucial, and it left fans calling for Penrith to be sanctioned. 'If the NRL cares about the integrity of the game, they'll dock the Panthers two points for the actions of their trainer. It's just blatant cheating, poor sportsmanship and downright disgraceful,' one fan wrote on X. 'Blatant cheating. That's not on, and the NRL must draw a line in the sand now,' another added. 'The Titans have been absolutely duded … The Panthers' trainers are continuously bringing the game into disrepute,' a third wrote. It's not the first time a Panthers trainer has come under fire this year, with the NRL issuing a breach notice to one staff member earlier this season for squirting water on a ball before a kick-off.
