North Texas country singer Pat Green to host concert at Globe Life Field to help flood victims
Green's younger brother John, John's wife Julia, and their two sons lost their lives in the devastating floods.
Green "will channel his personal grief toward a positive end," the news release states.
"After spending his entire career bringing people together, Green knows the impact the community will have in helping the healing process begin," the release states.
No audience will be in attendance.
The concert, Pat Green & Friends: Texas Flood Relief Livestream, is a partnership between Green, the Texas Rangers and REV Entertainment. Green and the Rangers have been closely tied for many years. His iconic song, "I Like Texas," has been played after every Rangers home win for years, the team said.
The concert, which includes a star-studded line-up, will be streamed on Green's YouTube at 6:30 p.m. CT. Miranda Lambert, the Eli Young Band and several other artists will perform.
All proceeds from the concert and livestream will be distributed to Kerr County Relief, TEXSAR and the Do It For Durrett Foundation via The Pat Green Foundation, directly benefiting the families affected by the devastating floods. Viewers can donate online.

Nelly is final Minnesota State Fair 2025 Grandstand act to be announced
It will be getting "Hot in Herre" at the Minnesota State Fair when Nelly takes the Grandstand stage to perform. The fair announced its final Grandstand act for 2025 on Tuesday. Nelly will perform at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, with Ja Rule, Mýa and Ying Yang Twins. Tickets go on sale Friday. Seeing the southern hip-hop artist behind hits like "Country Grammar" and "Ride Wit Me" will cost you a minimum of $54. This will be Nelly's first time playing the Grandstand. Previously announced Grandstand shows include Meghan Trainor, Old Dominion, Melissa Etheridge, The Avett Brothers and Def Leppard. The fair runs from Aug. 21 to Sept. 1. Tickets will be $2 more expensive this year. Last week, the fair announced its new foods for 2025, including chicken-fried bacon fries, dill pickle iced tea and more.

Aggie War Hymn trolls Texas head coach in viral SEC media days moment
Steve Sarkisian might be the head coach of the Texas Longhorns, but the DJ at the SEC media days thought he bled Maroon and White, as the Aggie War Hymn echoed across the room in Nashville, Tenn., on Tuesday. Symbolic of professional wrestler "Stone Cold" Steve Austin making his iconic entrance, Sarkisian walked up the stairs and to the podium as if he were born an Aggie. His confidence and swagger had everyone doing double-takes, as another hilarious moment entered the 131-year rivalry between Texas and Texas A&M. In a move that likely made Longhorn boosters and alumni spill their morning coffee, the soundtrack heard around the world joins the growing archive of memes that define the Lone Star Showdown. Longhorn fans shouldn't panic, though. Sarkisian isn't the first Texas head coach in 2025 to show some love for the Maroon and White. Texas baseball head coach Jim Schlossnagle ripped a "Gig 'em" on national television during the NCAA Tournament this year, giving fans of both programs yet another reason to crank up the hatred meter. Schlossnagle's blunder provided the perfect ammunition for Aggie fans still feeling the sting of his sudden departure from the Texas A&M baseball program to the school's archrival in Austin, Texas. SEC media days are known for their historically memorable moments with a melting pot of coaching personalities previewing the upcoming season and answering questions from the media. Sarkisian, however, never had a chance to reach the podium before the Aggie War Hymn blared from the speakers. All jokes aside, the Longhorns still hold the most recent "last laugh" over the Aggies from last season's 17-7 win at Kyle Field. Texas A&M will have an opportunity to rectify last year's loss this season and gain the program's first victory over the in-state rivals since 2010. If head coach Mike Elko can lead his team to a massive victory in Austin, these memes will likely make another appearance on everyone's timelines by the time it is all said and done. If a poll were made specifically for the Aggie fan base, many would likely want to give that DJ a raise. While no reporters asked about it during Sarkisian's press conference, the thoughts swirling around his mind while walking up the steps as the Texas A&M fight song played would have likely warranted an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Network backlash puts home renovation star in hot seat
The backlash towards Chip and Joanna Gaines' new Magnolia Network reality series "Back to the Frontier" has put a spotlight on the couple's sprawling lifestyle empire. The couple was criticized last weekend after Chip promoted the new series, which features three families living like pioneers. People flooded his post promoting the show with frustrations over a same-sex couple being cast as one of three couples on the reality series. Reverend Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, called the casting decision "very disappointing." "While we are to love people, we should love them enough to tell them the truth of God's Word," he wrote on social media. "His Word is absolute truth. God loves us, and His design for marriage is between one man and one woman. Promoting something that God defines as sin is in itself sin." Chip was quick to respond to the criticism, writing on X: "Talk, ask qustns [sic], listen.. maybe even learn. Too much to ask of modern American Christian culture. Judge 1st, understand later/never It's a sad sunday when 'non believers' have never been confronted with hate or vitriol until they are introduced to a modern American Christian." The Gaines first gained fame more than 10 years ago when they were cast on the HGTV series "Fixer Upper" in 2013, which showed the couple revitalizing dilapidated homes through their Magnolia Homes business in Waco, Texas. After five seasons, they decided to leave the show, and then signed with Discovery + and started the Magnolia Network in 2022. Along with the network, the couple also have the five-acre Magnolia Market at the Silos, which includes the shops at the Silos, the Silos Baking Co. bakery, the Magnolia Press coffee shop, and they also own the Magnolia Table restaurant several miles away. They also own the Magnolia Journal magazine, have written a series of lifestyle books, including Joanna's "Home Body" and Chip's "No Pain, No Gaines," they have their own Magnolia Home, furniture and accessories line, and a home line created by Joanna called Hearth and Hand for Target. The couple also opened a boutique hotel, Hotel 1928, in 2023, after renovating a historic hotel in Waco with 33 rooms. The pair also offer vacation rentals in Waco, including Hillcrest Estate and Hillcrest Cottage, the original carriage house for the estate. "TV shows impact the culture, but Chip and Jo impact people's lives," Discovery CEO David Zaslav told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021. "They provide something very rare in America today: a sunshiny hopefulness that you can make things with your own two hands and your life will be better for it."
