HOCKEY Hockey Jharkhand was crowned as the champions of the 15th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2025 in Kakinada, after they won the final of Division 'A', defeating Hockey Haryana 2-1. The final day of the event saw dominating performances by Hockey Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh Hockey, as both teams won their respective matches to clinch the title and the bronze medal, respectively. Hockey Jharkhand's Sweety Dungdung (10') and Shanti Kumari (12') scored in the first quarter to give their team an early lead. Although Hockey Haryana's Kirty (52') tried to turn the game in her team's favour with a late goal, she couldn't prevent her team from losing 2-1 in the final. Army recruitment, U-19 hockey tournament in Kakinada

Kakinada District Collector S. Shan Mohan on Friday stated that the Indian Army recruitment would be held between August 3 and 20 at the District Sports Authority grounds. Aspirants from Coastal Andhra Pradesh region are eligible to participate in the recruitment. At the same venue, Under-19 Hockey Tournament will also be held from August 1. All the basic amenities and facilities are being provided to host both the events, said Mr. Shan Mohan.
