'You need a proper study plan and consistent practice over two years. At the end of the day, self-study is the most effective tool,' she shared. What makes her achievement even more meaningful is the personal sacrifice that came with it. Devdutta, who used to love playing the violin, set it aside completely during her preparation. 'I didn't touch my violin for two years. It was something I loved deeply, but I knew I had to give it up. The only break I allowed myself was talking to my mother about my studies,' she said with a smile. After securing AIR 16 in JEE Advanced 2025 and emerging as the female topper, Devdutta now wants to get admission in the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. She wants to explore the world of artificial intelligence and robotics, especially in the field of research. A student of Katwa Durgadasi Chaudhurani Girls' High School, 's achievement adds yet another feather to her already stellar academic journey. Speaking to The Times of India , she described her success as the outcome of two years of unwavering self-discipline and focussed self-study. Unlike many aspirants who rely on coaching hubs, Devdutta carved her own path. She studied independently, took online classes to clear doubts, and regularly appeared for mock tests — all from the confines of her home. Her routine after Madhyamik 2023 became one of intense dedication—clocking in at least 10 hours of study every day. 'I had set my goal to crack JEE Advanced to pursue my dreams. I distanced myself from all programmes, family gatherings, and other distractions to focus solely on my studies,' Devdutta shared. 'Coaching centres can't do everything. Cracking exams like JEE Mains and Advanced requires a systematic study plan and daily practice for at least two years. Nothing works better than self-study,' she added. What made this journey more personal was what she gave up along the way. 'I stopped playing the violin, which used to be my favourite pastime. I only picked it up again after the exam. For two years, the only recreation I allowed myself was chatting with my mother about my preparation,' she recalled with a smile. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Her mother, Shelly Dan, a physics teacher at the same school, stood by her through every step of this intense journey. We've been waiting for this day for two years. We both sacrificed everything for this moment, and I'm so proud she achieved what she dreamed of,' she said emotionally. Devdutta's father, a physics professor, stays in Asansol and has also been a strong pillar of support. Now, Devdutta plans to join IISc Bangalore to pursue a career in artificial intelligence and robotics, with a keen interest in research. Mangoes are often called the 'king of fruits,' and with the arrival of May, the mango season is officially here. Bihar is known for growing several popular varieties of mangoes. The famous Malda mango is recognized globally, and local varieties like Amrapali, Bijju, CPIya, and Jardalu are also well-loved for their unique taste and aroma. Now, Bihar has begun producing one of the world's most expensive and rare mangoes, the Miyazaki mango. This mango is not commonly grown and only a few farmers are cultivating it at the moment. Grown in this village near Patna According to reports, the Miyazaki mango is being cultivated in Koriawan village, located in the Masaurhi block of Patna district. This exotic fruit is known not just for its hefty price tag but also for its rich nutritional value. Nicknamed the 'Egg of the Sun,' this mango stands out because of its deep ruby-red color, which gives it a unique appearance and makes it easily recognizable. As awareness and demand for this premium mango increase, farmers in Bihar have started experimenting with its production. What Makes the Miyazaki Mango So Special? The Miyazaki mango isn't just known for its price it stands out for many unique qualities. This rare mango has a deep, striking red color and an appearance that immediately catches the eye. But it's not just about looks the taste is equally impressive. It's extremely sweet, with a naturally high sugar content, and a flavor that many say is unmatched. Another standout feature? The Miyazaki mango has no fiber at all, giving it a smooth, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Plus, it gives off a distinct, pleasant aroma that adds to its overall appeal. Grown in highly controlled environments, it requires a lot of care and precision something that makes it even more exclusive. Each mango usually weighs between 350 to 550 grams. Costs up to Rs. 3 lakh per kilo According to reports, the price of Miyazaki mangoes can go as high as Rs. 3 lakh per kilogram making it one of the most expensive mangoes in the world. In Bihar, the plants for growing this rare variety are brought in all the way from Bengaluru, and each sapling costs around Rs. 500. Given the high value of the fruit, farmers have to take extra precautions while cultivating it. Special arrangements are made to ensure the mangoes are safe from theft or damage. In some cases, CCTV cameras are even installed in orchards to monitor the crop. This level of care shows just how prized the Miyazaki mango has become, both for its taste and its rarity.
