Ajay Devgn, who has backed the film, was seen at the premiere alongside director Siddharth P Malhotra. Several big names from the film industry came out in support, making it a truly star-studded affair. Among them were Dhanush, filmmaker Rohit Shetty, Suniel Shetty with wife Mana Shetty, Rakul Preet Singh, Mrunal Thakur, Indraneil Sengupta, Ronit Roy, Sonu Nigam, Bhushan Kumar, Jackky Bhagnani, Aanand L Rai, and Vindu Dara Singh.
Maa has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a UA 16+ rating. This means the film is suitable for viewers aged 16 and above, and parental discretion is advised for younger audiences. The runtime of the film is 2 hours and 15 minutes — a compact and efficient length for a horror film.
The film's story centres on a mother, played by Kajol, who embarks on a road trip with her daughter, only to find herself confronting terrifying supernatural forces linked to a cursed tree and a sinister legend. As the trailer reveals, Maa is inspired by the mythological story of Goddess Kali and the demon Raktabija.
Maa marks the second instalment in Ajay Devgn's horror universe following the success of Shaitaan. With Kajol in a fierce maternal role and an intense supernatural plot, the film promises to be a gripping addition to the genre.

Bollywood star Kajol, loved for her wit and enduring screen presence, as well as her off-screen chemistry with her husband, Ajay Devgn. In an interview with Mashable India, she opened up about how she and husband Ajay Devgn maintain harmony despite their starkly different personalities.
