Explorers Podcast: ACM
Stockhead's 'Garimpeiro' columnist Barry FitzGerald is back in the studio for another instalment of The Explorers Podcast.
In this edition, Barry catches up with Australian Critical Minerals (ASX:ACM) managing director Dean de Largie, a company which he thinks has a lot of leverage and multiple re-rating events coming on the horizon.
Recent news has been the company's acquisition of advanced Peruvian assets which it considered just too good to pass up, and there are other irons in the ACM fire to keep an eye on as the company gets ready over drill-ready targets it believes have exceptional scope for discovery.
This podcast was developed in collaboration with Australian Critical Minerals, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing.
The interviews and discussions in this podcast are opinions only and not financial or investment advice. Listeners should obtain independent advice based on their own circumstances before making any financial decisions.

Lunch Wrap: ASX dragged down by sinking China steel and flying missiles
ASX falls as China steel sinks miners Iran hits Israeli labs with cluster bombs Oil jumps then eases on Trump's comments The ASX was down 0.55% at around lunch time in the east on Friday, and you can't blame Wall Street for this one. The Yanks were out celebrating Juneteenth with the markets shut. But Europe was wide awake, and the headlines coming out of the Middle East were enough to wipe the smile off any trader's face. Iran is apparently lobbing missiles with cluster bombs into Israeli suburbs. These things burst mid-air and scatter mini-bombs over a wide area, with one landing in someone's backyard in Azor. Tehran also targeted Israel's scientific crown jewel, the Weizmann Institute of Science. Years of research in life sciences and physics gone up in smoke. With that as the backdrop, Brent crude spiked as punters braced for a possible US strike on Iran. But then Trump walked it back a bit. His team now reckons there's a 'substantial chance' of negotiation, with a decision 'within two weeks'. Those comments took the edge off, with oil prices coming back down a tad. Elsewhere, the Bank of England kept rates on hold at 4.25% last night. Three policy members wanted a cut, and there's now a decent chance of a trim come August. Over in Russia, the Kremlin's economy minister just admitted the country's 'on the brink' of recession, pointing to weakening indicators. Not something you usually hear from Putin's camp. Back home, the ASX was already on the ropes before the opening bell thanks to China's steel numbers. Steel production slumped nearly 7% in May, way below expectations, and that sent our iron ore stocks tumbling once again. Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) fell 0.5% and Bluescope Steel (ASX:BSL) dropped 1% this morning. And, Web Travel Group (ASX:WEB) slipped 1.5%, though it wasn't all bad. Former Virgin Australia boss Paul Scurrah is joining the board alongside retail veteran Melanie Wilson from JB Hi-Fi and Oroton. Australian shares dip as Trump floats Iran deadline
The Australian share market is trading lower as Middle East strive continues and amid Donald Trump's two-week window to decide whether the US will join Israel's conflict with Iran. The S&P/ASX200 fell 56.2 points, or 0.67 per cent, to 8,466.9, as the broader All Ordinaries slipped 53.9 points, or 0.62 per cent, to 8,687.5. The slump came as the Middle East conflict weighed on investor sentiment and as thin trading conditions due to a US bank holiday sent European equities and US futures lower, market analyst Kyle Rodda said. All signs pointed to a weak finish for the ASX this week. "Like last week where hostilities were boiling over, market participants may be reluctant to hold onto risk exposure over the weekend when a historic US strike on Iran nuclear facilities is an uncomfortably high possibility," Mr Rodda said. Only two of 11 local sectors were trading higher by lunchtime, with both energy and IT stocks up 0.2 per cent. Financials weighed heavily on the bourse, down 1.3 per cent and wiping out Thursday's gains as the big four each lost between 1.2 per cent and 2.2 per cent. The slip came as expectations for a Reserve Bank interest rate cut in July fell from 86 per cent to 78 per cent. Likewise, rate-sensitive consumer-facing stocks were the next worst performing sectors, with discretionaries down 0.9 per cent and staples sinking 0.7 per cent. As attacks in Israel and Iran escalated overnight, oil prices spiked almost three per cent to $US77.50 a barrel, their highest level since January, before settling $US75.83 a barrel after Trump's deadline eased fears of an imminent US attack. Woodside was up a modest 0.5 per cent to $25.77 a share by midday. Materials stocks edged 0.1 per cent lower, as iron ore prices edged higher to take some pressure off large cap miners BHP, Rio Tinto and Fortescue. Gold continues to consolidate tightly to trade at around $US3,380 ($A5,125) an ounce. Australian gold miners were mixed, but larger players Northern Star and Newmont edged higher, while Evolution slipped 0.2 per cent days after multiple UBS downgrades indicated the sector's easy gains could be behind it. The Australian dollar is buying 64.76 US cents, up slightly from 64.71 US cents on Thursday at 5pm.

Top 10 at 11: ASX plunges 0.31pc in first hour of trade
Morning, and welcome to Stockhead's Top 10 (at 11… ish), highlighting the movers and shakers on the ASX in early-doors trading. With the market opening at 10am sharp eastern time, the data is taken at 10.15am, once trading kicks off in earnest. In brief, this is what the market has been up to this morning. ASX flashes red across the board It's been building over the last couple of days, but Aussie traders have officially had enough of the chaos, and they're pulling back sharply in the first hour of trade this morning. After small dips over the last week or so, the ASX has finally pulled back into a correction, losing 0.31%. The sectors are all in the red except energy, but that's barely worth a mention at +0.01% as of about 10:30 am AEST. The All Ords Gold index is also slightly up, adding just 0.04%, but otherwise it's a sea of negatives on the market this morning. We're not alone – European markets fell to month lows last night, and while the US was closed for the Juneteenth holiday, futures are predicting near full percentage point plunges for the S&P500 and Nasdaq tomorrow. As Eddy Sunarto reported this morning, the global economy is teetering on the edge as we wait to see if US President Donald Trump will involve the US directly in the Israel-Iran conflict. In the meantime, let's see who's making moves on the ASX. Bowen Coking Coal (ASX:BCB) has signalled it's considering placing the Burton Mine Complex operation into a temporary pause if an effort to transition the project to an owner-operator model is unsuccessful. The company is exploring a range of options to fund the transition plan and provide immediate liquidity, but the most recent Resources and Energy Quarterly forecasts falling demand for met coal as low emissions steel production gains pace. Dreadnought Resources (ASX:DRE) hit gold in 20 of 46 drill holes over various prospects at the Mangaroon gold project in WA, but results of up to 6m at 22.9 gold from 12m of depth weren't enough to wow investors. Some of that disappointment can be explained by a lack of results at the Lead Mine and Two Peaks prospects, where DRE hit nothing of consequence and will need to review its drill orientation.
