Harlem Globetrotters celebrating nearly 100 years of basketball
Designed by the award-winning Matt Lehman Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, the new logo was crafted to reflect the Globetrotters' historic roots while projecting a bold, unified vision for the future. The design will serve as the creative cornerstone of the Globetrotters' Centennial celebration, set for 2026.
"We wanted to find the balance of past, present, and future in a fresh new look that was both unique and exciting, whilst paying homage to the many men and women players that have honored us as Globetrotters," said Keith Dawkins, President of the Harlem Globetrotters and Herschend Entertainment Studios. "This mark will connect all of the consumer touchpoints centered around our 100-year anniversary plans."
The new Centennial logo features key elements that pay tribute to the Globetrotters' legacy:
Red, white, and blue color scheme, echoing the team's signature basketball and uniforms.Five stars representing the original five Globetrotters: Walter "Toots" Wright, Byron "Fat" Long, Willis "Kid" Oliver, Andy Washington, and Al "Runt" Pullins.Years "1926" and "2026" prominently displayed to signify the founding and the upcoming anniversary.A 3D-style block font, inspired by lettering used in vintage game programs, a beloved collectible among Globetrotter fans.The iconic red, white, and blue ball featured at the center, symbolizing the enduring connection between past, present, and future.
As the team celebrates its 100th year, the Harlem Globetrotters continue to honor and elevate talent from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)-a tradition woven into the franchise's long-standing mission.
Several current Globetrotters hail from HBCU programs:
Prince Moss, a standout from Grambling State UniversityAngelo Sharpless, who starred at Elizabeth City State UniversityCrash McClure, formerly of Albany State University
In addition to today's players, HBCUs have played a role in shaping some of the franchise's most beloved legends. Among them was the iconic Fred "Curly" Neal, a former All-CIAA player at Johnson C. Smith University, who enjoyed a long and celebrated career with the Globetrotters, dazzling fans with his unmatched ball-handling skills and warm charisma.

Nick Wright suggests Bo Nix is the next Mac Jones
Nick Wright wants to be starting something. Speaking on his "What's Wright?" show, Nick Wright and Cowherd spent time talking about the latest happenings in the NFL. Wright spoke on his expectations for Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, and he made a, say, rather interesting comparison. Wright believes that former quarterback Mac Jones, who suffered a sharp decline after a solid rookie season, is a great comparison for Nix. A stretch? Maybe. Ceyair Wright earns final single-digit jersey for Nebraska football
The Huskers announced their final player to earn a single-digit jersey on Friday afternoon. Defensive back Ceyair Wright earns the final single-digit left for Nebraska, No. 1. Under head coach Matt Rhule's system, a player is awarded a single-digit jersey number for being one of the toughest on the team, a tradition he utilized at Temple and Baylor. Wright now rounds out a strong group of players to earn a single-digit jersey, after Nebraska announced the first honorees on Tuesday. He joins fellow defensive backs Marques Buford Jr., Malcolm Hartzog Jr., and DeShon Singleton within the group. Wright played all 13 games for Nebraska in 2024, earning eight starts. He set career highs in tackles (39), pass breakups (6), interceptions (2), tackles for loss (1), sacks (1,) and forced fumbles (1). Wright even scored a pick-six against his former team, USC, in 2024. Prior to Nebraska, the Los Angeles, California native, played in 23 games with 15 starts at USC from 2021 to 2023. DeSean Jackson gives four star WR from Oregon fresh start
Ryan Pellum is heading to Delaware State, giving new head coach DeSean Jackson a major offensive addition as the HBCU prepares for its first season under the former NFL All-Pro. Pellum's move from Oregon to Delaware State was first reported by On3 Sports and immediately adds intrigue to Jackson's debut campaign. This will mark Ryan Pellum's second college stop after spending his freshman season at Oregon. The Long Beach, California, native entered the transfer portal in January. Days later, he was arrested and later pleaded no contest to aggravated assault using a semi-automatic firearm in connection with a December 25 incident in Long Beach. Two additional special allegations were dismissed as part of the plea deal. Before his time at Oregon, Ryan Pellum was one of the most sought-after receivers in the 2024 recruiting class. He was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 171 overall recruit nationally, while also checking in as the No. 28 wide receiver and the No. 12 overall player in California. His high school career at Millikan included more than 3,700 receiving yards, multiple 1,000-yard seasons, and honors such as the Moore League Player of the Year in both 2021 and 2023. At Oregon in 2024, Ryan Pellum appeared in four games, utilizing a redshirt season. He saw limited action, playing three offensive snaps and eight on special teams, and fielded a punt in a win over Michigan. For DeSean Jackson, landing Ryan Pellum represents a high-upside gamble. The new Delaware State coach, who built his NFL career on explosive plays, now has a young receiver with elite speed, strong route-running skills, and a proven high school production record. If Pellum can make a smooth transition and stay on the field, he could be a central figure in the Hornets' offensive attack. Delaware State, long searching for a breakthrough in the MEAC, will open a new era with DeSean Jackson at the helm and Ryan Pellum as one of its most intriguing newcomers. Both will be looking to prove themselves-Jackson as a first-time head coach, and Pellum as a top recruit seeking to fulfill his promise on the HBCU stage.
