EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover confirmed with a new FUT Icon unveiled
EA Sports has released its first concrete piece of information about EA FC 26, with the EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover revealed with a new Ultimate Team Icon.
After updating all of its profile photos on social media with the EA FC 26 logo over the weekend, EA Sports has marked the start of the EA FC 26 era today, with the EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover being revealed. The newest instalment of the EA Sports FC series, EA FC 26 has been the hot topic for the EA Sports FC community over the last few weeks, and it appears that EA is finally switching its attention to its new game.
The EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover reveal is not exactly new information, mind. Over the last few weeks, leaks have revealed pretty much all there is to know about the new game. Leakers revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would star on the cover, and this leak has been proven true. Leaks also claimed that the Swede will be returning to the game as an Ultimate Team Icon.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns in EA FC 26
The EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition has been unveiled by EA, and it features Ibrahimovic, lying on a bed in a bedroom. It's an interesting cover for sure, with the background featuring badges and kits from his career, including Paris Saint-Germain, Sweden, and Malmo.
Alex Morgan also appears on the screen of the computer on the cover, which is all but confirming her return to EA FC 26 as an Icon, like Ibrahimovic. It was leaked last month that Morgan would be coming to EA FC 26 as an Icon.
Despite being one of the best strikers in world football during the 2010s, Ibrahimovic never featured on a FIFA cover, so this marks the first time that the Swedish star has featured on the front of an EA Sports game.

Eddie Howe casts new light on Alexander Isak's Liverpool transfer with fresh admission
Liverpool are prepared to smash their transfer record once again to sign Newcastle's Alexander Isak, but have seen a bid rejected - with the Magpies seeking a eye-watering £150m for their star striker Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has admitted he isn't sure if wantaway striker Alexander Isak will return to training amid the Swedish international's uncertain future at St James' Park. Isak is being pursued by Liverpool, who have already seen a £110million bid rejected by the Magpies. The player is unsettled at Newcastle after telling the club he wants to consider his options this summer - but the Magpies want around £150m for his signature. The 25-year-old enjoyed a fantastic campaign at Newcastle as he fired in 27 goals to help them secure Champions League football and also inspired them to winning the Carabao Cup. But Newcastle face a huge battle to keep Isak at the club beyond the end of the transfer window after he refused to join the club on their pre-season tour of Asia. Isak has been training on his own at the training facilities of his old club Real Sociedad in the last week to keep himself ticking over for the new season, despite a lack of progress in talk between the two clubs. And Howe - who had previously been upbeat about the prospect of Isak staying with Newcastle - conceded he couldn't be certain he would link up with the group in the near future after their friendly against Tottenham. "Of course I'd like him to be, but whether he will I don't know at this moment in time," Howe said when asked if he could expect Isak to return to training. "Other people have been dealing with that situation back at home." Howe distanced himself from the ongoing transfer speculation as he said he was only informed that Liverpool's approach had been rebuffed - as he insisted he would continue to support Isak despite his desire to leave. "I was made aware of a bid yesterday and that bid was turned down, all before I'd even heard about it," Howe said. "People back in England are dealing with the situation. 'I don't know what happens next. From our perspective, we still support Alex in every way and my wish is that we see him in a Newcastle shirt again." Newcastle have been ramping up plans for Isak's successor in the event that he does leave after launching a £70m bid for Red Bull Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko. The Magpies already missed out on signing Hugo Ekitike after having a £72m bid rejected by Eintracht Frankfurt, with the player instead joining Liverpool. Tottenham player ratings vs Newcastle: Kevin Danso stands out as Brennan Johnson sends reminder
There are a lot of questions to be answered in the middle of the park for Tottenham, but Bergvall can certainly be part of the solution. The young Swede tried to wrestle back control of the midfield, but struggled as the game hit a lull in the second-half.

Jimmy Thelin ready for Aberdeen Europa League challenge as he lifts lid on Arne Slot showdown
The Dons will discover their Europa League opponents in Monday's draw Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin is looking for another Slot at Europe's biggest managerial names. The Dons go into Monday's Europa League play-off draw. The options will be narrowed down before then but potentially Aberdeen could face the likes of Panathinaikos, PAOK, Young Boys, Ferencvaros, Copenhagen, Legia Warsaw or Midtjylland. The Swede said: 'I haven't looked at it yet, let's see. It's impossible to know who it's going to be, but it's going to be exciting to see after the Hearts' game who we're going to play against.' Thelin is no stranger to this sort of arena as he also led Elfsborg into the group stages. It also gave him the opportunity to lock horns with the likes of Liverpool boss Arne Slot, who was at Feyenoord at the time. It was back in 2020 when Elfsborg won 3-1 at home but then lost the second leg of their Europa Conference League 5-0 in the Netherlands to the eventual finalists, who were pipped to the trophy by Roma. Thelin recalled: 'They (Feyenoord) were at their peak. They went to two finals in a row. They were really good against us. We made some mistakes away there, but at home they came with the same team. 'We won 3-1 and it was so close to us actually going 3-0 up from a corner. We hit the post and then the transition after they scored to make it 2-1, so the game died a little bit after that. 'But again, the exposure for the players to play the big games is important. That's how you develop.' It was a major aim of Thelin to get Aberdeen back into Europe. He stated: 'That's the thing, you always want to be better and you want to be that team who plays in Europe. 'Of course, that was one of our big goals last season and it's going to be the same goal this season. 'But now we also have to compete in this European game, so we're just happy to be there and proud of the team from last season. 'Now we have to focus on this season and try to do it again.' Thelin will have some decisions to make as he will have to leave out some of his senior players to fit the criteria. 'Let's see how the squad looks during this time,' Thelin claimed. 'We keep working and let's see. If it happens, it happens, then it's going to be like that. We're always going to try to think about the whole picture. 'We have four competitions. We have the two cups and then the league, of course, and then Europe. Everybody will play an important part, but maybe someone has to be out of the squad.' Aberdeen last made the group stage two years ago and it impacted on their domestic form and cost Barry Robson his job. Thelin knows his squad needs to be competitive on all fronts. He said: 'It's also to be competitive against other teams in Europe, but then come home and keep the passion for the fantastic league you play in and understand these demands all the time. 'The highlight is the difficulty, it's just more the experience of playing games all the time. You don't need to train, it's perfect for everyone. It's just playing games, that's what you want to do.' Aberdeen start their Premiership push away to Hearts tomorrow evening. Thelin is confident his team is primed and ready to go. Thelin added: 'When you have a pre-season you have to be ready. ' You are as good as you are when you start the season then hopefully you can develop and grow during the season. 'We are ready for an exciting game away against Hearts, to play in front of our away supporters. The atmosphere will be good and it is a competitive game so there are lots of positives. We are ready for this game.'
