'Happy Gilmore 2' trailer teases cavalcade of cameos: Post Malone, Eminem and more
Adam Sandler is taking another swing at "Happy Gilmore" with help from some major stars.
During Netflix's Tudum event on Saturday, May 31, the streamer debuted a new trailer for the comedian's highly anticipated sequel "Happy Gilmore 2."
The footage teased a movie packed to the brim with cameos, starting with the trailer's opening scene in which Happy Gilmore falls flat on his face while golfing, as witnessed by Eric André, Margaret Qualley and Martin Herlihy.
Later, Travis Kelce appears in a scene with Bad Bunny, Ben Stiller returns as orderly Hal, and several real television personalities like Ken Jennings and Stephen A. Smith pop up during a montage. The trailer also includes short glimpses of appearances by Eminem, Post Malone, Becky Lynch and more.
Outside of the cameos, the main cast of "Happy Gilmore 2" includes Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, the latter of whom returns as Shooter McGavin. Sandler wrote the screenplay for "Happy Gilmore 2" with Tim Herlihy, his co-writer on the original movie.

The comedian has teased several of the film's cameos in interviews. Sandler said on the "Dan Patrick Show" in December that he filmed for a day with Eminem, who "said a million things we can use." Sandler noted at the time that "I've known Eminem for a long time, and he's a great guy."

Qualley, meanwhile, has said that her role in "Happy Gilmore 2" is small, but that her husband Jack Antonoff helped convince Sandler to cast her because she's such a fan of the original. On "The Tonight Show," she joked that Antonoff lied to Sandler by claiming Qualley is good at golf in order to secure her a role.
"He lied for the sake of the family," Qualley joked. "I've never golfed a day in my life. I'm terrible, actually."
"Happy Gilmore 2" will be released on July 25, 2025.

2025 NCAA baseball Super Regionals set: What are the most intriguing matchups?

Top seed Vanderbilt and No. 2 seed Texas were both eliminated on Sunday, but five of the six other top-eight national seeds advanced and will serve as hosts next weekend. Advertisement The story on Monday night was Murray State, which became the 10th No. 4 seed to advance to the Super Regionals since the current format was instituted in 1999. The Racers, the champions of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament, held on for a 12-11 win over Ole Miss in Game 7 of the Oxford Regional on Monday night. Ole Miss trimmed a 12-3 deficit to 12-11 with five runs in the seventh and three in the eighth but went down quietly in the ninth. Little Rock, one of two teams in the field with a losing record, almost became a second No. 4 seed to advance, but the Trojans lost to LSU in the Baton Rouge Regional championship game. The program has reached the Super Regional three previous times under coach Chris Pollard but had to play each time on the road, losing at Texas Tech in 2018, Vanderbilt in 2019 and Virginia in 2023. Duke took the first game in each of those Supers but ultimately fell short. Now, the Blue Devils finally get to play at home, thanks to Murray State's magical run through the Oxford Regional. And how about those Racers! Murray State won the Regional in dramatic fashion, beating Ole Miss twice at Swayze Field to advance to the Supers for the first time in program history. The Racers got it done offensively, scoring a total of 42 runs in their four games in Oxford — three vs. Ole Miss and one vs. Georgia Tech. They might be the top two. Tennessee has prospects such as pitchers Liam Doyle and Marcus Phillips, and infielders Andrew Fischer and Gavin Kilen. Arkansas counters with star shortstop Wehiwa Aloy, outfielder Charles Davalan and pitchers Gage Wood and Zach Root. It's a talent bonanza. Advertisement It's also a continuation of the SEC's disappointment after an underwhelming performance in the Regionals. That one of these teams definitely won't get to Omaha is a downer for the league, especially considering some of the national seeds that didn't make it to the Supers. Florida State has one of the top prospects in the country in junior left-hander Jamie Arnold. The Beavers boast one of the best freshmen in the nation in right-hander Dax Whitney. Though they aren't likely to start the same game — Arnold should be the Game 1 guy while Whitney is likely for Game 2 — we are probably in for a masterclass in pitching. — Schnell This battle of the four-letter state schools is a historical mismatch. The Roadrunners are in the NCAA postseason for the first time since 2013 — which happens to be the year that the Bruins last qualified for the College World Series. UCLA won it all 12 years ago. Coach John Savage, in his 21st season, aims to take a fourth UCLA team to Omaha. But UTSA will not be intimidated by the iconic jersey or the setting after it rolled Texas twice en route to sweeping the Austin Regional. It was one of several black eyes for the SEC in the opening weekend of the tournament. Sheryl Lee Ralph Remembers Sidney Poitier's Early Support: ‘I Expect Great Things from You'
Emmy-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph received the Sidney Poitier Icon Tribute at the Gotham Television Awards June 2. The 'Abbott Elementary' star has a special history with the tribute's namesake. 'It's a very full circle moment, because quite literally Mr. Poitier opened the door to Hollywood for me by casting me in my first film — 'A Piece of the Action,'' Ralph told IndieWire on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony. Ralph played a supporting role in the movie, which also featured James Earl Jones. After this appearance, Ralph began scoring guest spots on popular TV show such as 'Good Times' and 'Wonder Woman,' before landing her Tony-nominated role in the 1981 Broadway musical 'Dreamgirls.' Since then, Ralph has been a film, television and stage staple, but she professes that none of her success would have been possible without Poitier. 'Mr. Poitier looked at me and said, 'Sheryl Lee Ralph I expect great things from you … I am sorry that the industry doesn't have more to offer you, because you deserve it.' He planted a seed in me that represented the great possibility. And because I believed in great possibility, I kept at it and never gave up. I kept honing my craft. I kept on keeping on. And I wish that he were here tonight to be able see the seed that he planted in me and how it's grown,' Ralph said. She added that Poitier taught how important the director is to a project. 'I remember one day I was just lost, reading a book, and I couldn't hear what he was saying, and he just came over to the desk — we were all students in a classroom — and he just got my attention, and he said, 'You're on my set. I am your director, and you pay attention to me' … I'll never forget that. So, I try to respect directors always,' she said. Poitier's groundbreaking Hollywood career included an Oscar-win for 'Lilies of the Field' in 1964, when he became the first Black man to receive the Best Actor Academy Award. He later starred in seminal classics like 'In the Heat of the Night,' 'To Sir, With Love,' and 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?' He bridged into directing during the 1970s with credits including 'Buck and the Preacher,' 'A Warm December,' and 'Stir Crazy.' Poitier died in 2022 at the age of 94.
