Sarah Jessica Parker Ghosted Nicolas Cage In The '90s

Buzz Feed15-07-2025
On Sunday, Sarah Jessica Parker finally confirmed a decades-old rumor that she once dated fellow actor Nicolas Cage.
The two sparked romance rumors when they appeared together in the 1992 romcom Honeymoon in Vegas, however, neither of them has ever publicly commented on what went down between them… Until now.
During her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Andy directly asked his long-time friend if she had dated Nicolas, and she coyly divulged: 'Um, yes, I did.'
For what it's worth, this romance would have been pretty soon after Sarah Jessica ended her complicated seven-year relationship with Robert Downey Jr., and just before she started dating her now-husband, Matthew Broderick.
Now, Nicolas has come forward to share some more insight into his dalliance with Sarah Jessica, revealing that they were serious enough for her to introduce him to her mother — only for her to ultimately ended up ghosting him.
In a statement given to E! News on Monday, Nicolas said: "I cared about Sarah, but I don't think I passed the Mom Test.'
"I recall sitting down with her and her mother for dinner at the Russian Tea Room, and I don't know if it was my blue Vanson Leather motorcycle jacket (which I still have) or my sinusitis, but I didn't hear from her again,' the statement concluded.
Sarah Jessica has not publicly commented on Nicolas's revelation, however, it's fair to assume that whatever happened between them would be water under the bridge by now.
Nicolas has been married five times since the brief romance. His first wife was actor Patricia Arquette, whom he married in 1995 before divorcing in 2001. He then wed Elvis Presley's daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, in 2002, but filed for a divorce just 107 days later. He married Alice Kim in 2004, with whom he welcomed a son, Kal-El, before divorcing in 2016, and tied the knot to Erika Koike in Las Vegas in 2019, but filed for an annulment just four days later.Nicolas has been married to Riko Shibata since 2021, and the two welcomed a daughter together in August 2022.Meanwhile, Sarah Jessica started dating Matthew in March 1992, and they got married in 1997. Together, they share three children: 22-year-old James, and 16-year-old twins Tabitha and Marion.

Pete Davidson says it's been his ‘dream' to be a dad

Pete Davidson is overjoyed to be entering his dad era. The actor and comedian is expecting a child, his first, with his partner Elsie Hewitt. 'I'm very lucky and very, very happy,' he told 'E! News' while attending the New York premiere of his new horror movie 'The Home' this week. Hewitt, a model and actress, made the announcement via Instagram last week sharing photos and a clip of her and the 'SNL' alum from her sonogram. Davidson said he's gotten advice from his 'SNL' buddies Adam Sandler and Colin Jost. 'Everybody's just been super excited for me, because they know it's been my dream,' Davidson said. 'They all just have been like, 'You're going to be great at this. It's the best thing you'll ever do in your life.' Sandler gave me some great advice.' It sounds like the couple have been getting quite a bit of support. 'It's been really nice that everyone's super excited,' he said. 'When you do something, when we do anything, you want everyone to be excited, especially having a child.' Hewitt and Davidson were first publicly linked in March. Davison has previously dated several famous women including Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande. In February he talked to Page Six about why people seem so fascinated with his dating life, which has sparked memes about him being everyone's boyfriend. 'Everyone is dating everyone and it's Hollywood. But because I'm ugly, they wrote about me,' he said at the time. 'I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.' CNN's Dan Heching and Alli Rosenbloom contributed to this report.

'E! News' to end this year after 3 decades

The broadcast show 'E! News' will end this year, concluding a run that began in 1991 but which was interrupted during the Covid-19 pandemic, a source close to the situation said. The person confirmed the plans to cancel the broadcast show to NBC News, after the news was previously reported Thursday by Variety and other publications. Its final tape date will be September 25. Employees were notified Thursday morning. The entertainment network will remain online. "Access Hollywood" and "Access Daily" will continue its broadcasts. The broadcast show launched in 1991 but it was canceled in 2020 during the pandemic, which caused serious disruptions not only to the economy but also to studio shows. The broadcast show was brought back in 2022. E! is owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News, but it will move along with other brands, including MSNBC and CNBC, to Comcast spin-off Versant, Comcast has said. NBCUniversal did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday. Comcast on Thursday announced its first board of directors for the planned spin-off. The spin-off will have under it USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel and others, Comcast said.
