Kelley Mack death: Walking Dead and Chicago Med actress dies at 33
Mack died August 2 in Cincinnati after being diagnosed with glioma of the central nervous system, according to a statement shared by her family. A CaringBridge page had been set up months ago to provide updates on her condition.
A remembrance is planned for August 16 in Ohio, with a further celebration of life to be held at a future date in Los Angeles, where Mack lived and worked for the last 11 years.
'Her vibrant spirit, creative passion and dedication to storytelling left an indelible mark on those who knew her and the audiences she captivated through her work,' her family said.
Born Kelley Lynne Klebenow, Mack joined The Walking Dead during season nine for five episodes.
Before rising to fame on the hit AMC show, Mack appeared in several shorts and TV miniseries, including Unusual Suspects (2015), Grayson: Earth One (2015), Not Your Average Joe (2016), and Unscrewed (2016). She amassed dozens of TV and film credits throughout her career.
Mack also appeared on episodes of 9-1-1 in 2019 and Chicago Med in 2022. Her credits spanned multiple commercials for Budweiser, Dr Pepper, Dairy Queen, and Chick-fil-A, among others.
Off-screen, Mack lent her voice to several notable projects, including as Hailee Steinfeld's voice match on the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq commercial.
Mack's final credit, both on-screen and as executive producer, is the forthcoming Universal (2025). Just weeks before her death, she shared a post on Instagram advertising the film's world premiere at the Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
'It's a small, down-to-earth film about huge, out-of-this-world concepts, and we're looking forward to sharing it with you,' the caption read in part.
In a separate post about the premiere, Mack wrote: 'In this comedy/drama/sci-fi, a couple of academics enjoying a romantic break in a remote log cabin find their stay interrupted by someone who has tracked them down, seeking their help with what could be the biggest discovery in history.'
Outside of her acting and producing career, Mack's family remembered her as an accomplished college tennis player who loved hiking, pickleball, biking, playing piano and traveling.
Mack is survived by her parents, brother Parker and sister Kathryn, grandparents, and her 'dearest boyfriend,' Logan.

Even more interesting, the animated Venom movie reportedly has Seth Rogen on board as a writer and producer. Rogen's involvement makes this project especially interesting as he's already got a strong track record with adult comic book adaptations like Preacher , The Boys , Invincible , and The Boys Presents: Diabolical . This Venom spinoff is reportedly aiming for an R-rating, breaking away from the PG-13 tone of the Tom Hardy-led trilogy. Rogen previously opened up about his hesitation to collaborate with major superhero studios, saying, 'Honestly, probably fear… It's mostly a fear of how would we plug into the system they have in place…we're control freaks!' He added, 'We're the producers of this. So we dictated the system.' This animated Venom film would follow Venom: The Last Dance (2024), which wrapped up Tom Hardy's run as Eddie Brock. First appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 back in 1988, the Venom symbiote has had a long history of bonding with different hosts, including Eddie Brock, Mac Gargan, Flash Thompson, and Dylan Brock. As for the Spider-Woman spinoff, it's been rumored for a while now but still hasn't been officially confirmed by the studio. However, these latest developments suggest it might be gaining momentum behind the scenes. Sony hasn't revealed release dates or production timelines for either project yet, but with Spider-Punk already moving forward and Beyond the Spider-Verse on the calendar, the animated side of Sony's Marvel universe is expanding fast. The Korean music industry is mourning after the sudden and unexpected death of Lee Min. The Korean-American singer debuted in 1999 as one half of the duo As One with her band mate Crystal and spent over 25 years active in the scene, recently releasing new music this past summer. Lee was 46. BrandNew Music, the music agency representing Lee and As One, confirmed the news to Korean newspaper Hankook Ilbo on Wednesday, August 6. 'It is true that Lee Min has passed away,' a representative is quoted saying per The Korea Herald. 'The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances. The company is also still trying to understand the situation." Soompi adds that a BrandNew Music representative also shared, 'Last night, Lee Min's husband discovered her when he returned home. The police are conducting an investigation. We ask that people refrain from excessive speculation until the results are released.' The Korea Herald added that music industry sources first reported on Wednesday that Lee was found dead at her home on the previous afternoon on Tuesday, August 5. Limited-edition Nipsey Hussle Metro TAP cards to be released
Metro Los Angeles is going to be releasing two limited-edition TAP cards to honor late rapper Nipsey Hussle. The release is part of the Metro x Culture series that aims to celebrate Angelenos who have shaped LA culture, "especially those whose journeys began on Metro buses and trains," the agency says. Nipsey Hussle, whose real name is Ermias Asghedom, was born in South Los Angeles. The Grammy-winning rapper was known for his community activism and entrepreneurship. He grew up in the Crenshaw District and often spoke about riding the Metro bus and train throughout LA. "His story is inseparable from Los Angeles—and from Metro, which helped carry him through the very city he gave so much to," Metro said. In 2019, he was gunned down outside of his clothing store, Marathon Clothing, located near the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue. Before his death, Hussle had plans to work with the police department to discuss ways of fighting gang violence. Metro says the cards will be released on Aug. 15, Nipsey Hussle Day. They also say there will be 12,000 cards in circulation and they will be available until they run out. The TAP cards will only be available to purchase in person. Places to get the limited-edition Nipsey Hussle cards: Metro will also be temporarily renaming the Hyde Park Station until the end of August to honor Hussle.
