Tamzin Outhwaite reveals the emotional toll of co-parenting after Tom Ellis' alleged infidelities, saying he's now "in and out" of their children's lives
Tamzin Outhwaite has laid bare the fallout from her failed marriage to Lucifer star Tom Ellis, revealing that he's now 'in and out' of their children's lives - and that she's still discovering the extent of his betrayal, even a decade later.

Speaking candidly on the Parenting Hell podcast, the EastEnders actress, 54, opened up about the painful split. She went on to detail her life now, including the difficulty of co-parenting with him, and the pride she feels in how far she and her family have come.

Tamzin and Tom tied the knot in 2006, introduced by actor James McAvoy. But their nine-year marriage ended in 2014 after Ellis reportedly confessed to an affair with Lost actress Emilie de Ravin. In 2023, she stunned fans with a now-deleted tweet marking the 10-year anniversary of the day Ellis walked out.

"I still meet new people on jobs who reveal more infidelities and lies that he committed," she wrote. "But thankfully my heart and soul are clear and clean and I could not be happier right now." She later added: "I was marking the 10-year anniversary with pride... a feeling of triumph and genuine gratitude." For anyone struggling, the most important relationship you will ever have is with yourself."
Tamzin shares two children with Ellis - Flo, 17, and Marnie, 12. When podcast host Josh Widdicombe mentioned the split happened "about 10 years ago," she replied: "Yeah, it was literally when the kids were tiny. Marnie was not even one."

And on Ellis' role in their lives now, she commented, 'He lives in LA. So he's pretty in and out of their lives, but they have a lot of support and people that have been around."
Opening up further about her family life, Tamzin revealed how her eldest child, Flo, came out as transgender around age 10 or 11."I did have two daughters and now I have a son and a daughter," she said. "That's quite easy for me to say now, but it wasn't maybe six or seven years ago." She admitted the early days were difficult: "There were some dark times... It was a very distressing time."

"Initially, I would say, don't be ridiculous. I didn't say it out loud, but my mind went, 'That's ludicrous.''
The family has sought therapy and support, with Tamzin admitting, "We worked together as a family and with outside help," she said. "If you push back on a kid, they'll want to do the opposite. I didn't say, 'You can't be that,' but it was tough."
Now, she is incredibly happy with her inspiring children. The ex-soap star shared, "He's an incredibly funny, intelligent boy… an incredible actor, desperate to be a comedy writer." Outhwaite said."To see him thriving is just nothing but relief and joy for me."

Since the split, Ellis has remarried—tying the knot with screenwriter Meaghan Oppenheimer in 2019. Tamzin was in a long-term relationship with filmmaker Tom Child, which ended recently, though she still calls him her "best mate" and says he's often around.
When discussing public conversations around trans rights, Tamzin said, "It really is less than one per cent of the population… but I'm just so happy for him."
"The whole LGBT community get a bit of a hard rap at the moment – it's quite tough," adding, "Every situation is different, every child is different… You're not alone."

John Torode's wife Lisa Faulkner breaks silence on MasterChef axe

Lisa Faulkner has broken her silence after her husband John Torode was sacked as judge on MasterChef following an allegation of racism. John Torode's wife Lisa Faulkner has broken her online silence following her husband's sacking from MasterChef. She's spoken after it was confirmed Torode's contract with the BBC series would not be renewed due to a historic allegation of racism. ‌ In a video posted on her Instagram on Monday night, July 28, the actress told fans: "Hi there, I just wanted to check in and say hello. I'm here and just thank you for all your lovely comments because they really, really mean a lot. So thank you." ‌ Lisa, 53, married Torode in 2019. This is the second marriage for the pair, with the former Holby City actress previously being with Chris Coghill, known for his role as Tony King in EastEnders. They share an adopted daughter named Billie. ‌ Torode's ex-wife is Jessica, and they have two children together. The former MasterChef star, 59, also has two older children from a previous relationship, reports the Mirror. Lisa and Torode first met when Lisa competed on Celebrity MasterChef back in 2010, forming a strong friendship that eventually blossomed. The pair hit it off immediately, maintaining their friendship after filming, but Lisa insists there was no initial romantic spark. ‌ "He was a judge on a show I loved and I was petrified of him. He was brilliant and gave us all tips so you didn't want to let him down," she recalled. "All I could think was, 'That sauce hasn't worked'. I didn't see anything but food for three months. After I won, we did The Good Food Show and stuff. John and I always got on, but I never thought about me and him." John Torode's contract with MasterChef will not be renewed, as confirmed by the BBC and production company Banijay UK. The Australian-born presenter, 59, began co-hosting MasterChef with Gregg Wallace in 2005. ‌ Torode acknowledged that he was the subject of a complaint regarding the use of racist language, which was upheld during a review conducted by law firm Lewis Silkin into the alleged behaviour of his co-presenter Gregg Wallace. Banijay UK issued a statement saying: "In response to John Torode's statement, it is important to stress that Banijay UK takes this matter incredibly seriously. The legal team at Lewis Silkin that investigated the allegations relating to Gregg Wallace also substantiated an accusation of highly offensive racist language against John Torode which occurred in 2018. "This matter has been formally discussed with John Torode by Banijay UK, and whilst we note that John says he does not recall the incident, Lewis Silkin have upheld the very serious complaint. Banijay UK and the BBC are agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef." ‌ The report from Lewis Silkin, commissioned by Banijay UK, found that 45 out of 83 allegations against Wallace were substantiated, along with two standalone allegations made against other individuals, including one for using racist language. Torode acknowledged he was the individual accused of racist language but stated he had "no recollection of the incident" and was "shocked and saddened" by the allegation. ‌ A BBC spokesperson commented: "John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using racist language against him. This allegation – which involves an extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace- was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm, Lewis Silkin. John Torode denies the allegation. "He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment. "The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode's contract on MasterChef will not be renewed." Despite Torode's MasterChef dismissal, he has continued to grace television screens alongside Lisa for their own programme. An insider close to ITV confirmed to the Mirror that their scheduling for John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen 'remains unchanged' despite John's dismissal from MasterChef.

Robert closes in on deadly John truth in Emmerdale as he makes two discoveries

Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has made two discoveries about John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in Emmerdale. Last week, after getting word that Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) had confessed to Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) murder, Robert learnt that his brother visited Owen right before he ended his life. Smelling a rat, Robert then contacted Owen's brother Steve, who confirmed the siblings were in Hull the day Nate died, which meant Owen did not kill him. Unfortunately, his attempt at telling the police didn't work due to Steve lying to them about where he was. It looked as though Robert wasn't being honest, so DC Cole sent him on his way after wasting police time. In the pub, as he enjoyed a drink with Victoria (Isabel Hodgins), he discovered the time Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) suffered an allergic reaction to nut milk, and how John saved him. It was a very brief moment so in this evening's episode, Robert began more digging. In the shop, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) said that Jacob is typically very careful with his nut allergy, and always has EpiPens dotted around in case something happens. As Robert listened, he learnt that there was one specific time that Jacob drank the wrong coffee and also didn't have a pen near him. Conveniently, John was on hand in that exact moment to help Jacob. He used an EpiPen on him, saving his life. Robert was incredibly suspicious, and even more so when Eric then told him about the time John saved Chas Dingle's (Lucy Pargeter) life after being spiked. EastEnders reveals who stole Kat's phone as Zoe's imminent return 'sealed'

EastEnders latest episode saw Kat Moon's phone stolen by a masked thief before she could listen to Alfie's voicemail message, and now Zoe Slater's return could be very soon There was a twist involving one of the Mitchells on EastEnders on Monday night. ‌ Kat Moon was just about to listen to her husband Alfie Moon's voicemail message, which she didn't know revealed all about the recent return of her daughter Zoe Slater, when she was mugged. A masked man on a bike sped past and grabbed the phone out of her hand. ‌ Later in the episode we learned the thief was none other than Harry Mitchell. He was shown playing around with a phone before chucking it in a bag in frustration. ‌ As he did this, the camera panned to the inside of the bag, with multiple phones shown. One of them had Kat and her young twin sons as a wallpaper, showing that it was Kat's mobile and Harry was the thief on the bike. But will he return the phone, and will Kat ever hear the voicemail? In the message, Alfie had wrongly believed Kat knew he was off finding Zoe after her abrupt return weeks ago. ‌ Zoe refused to see Kat and fled abroad, with Alfie soon heading off to try and bring her home. He was forced to tell Stacey Slater he'd lost her last week, after a trail ran cold following Stacey giving her money to Kat for the pub, instead of giving it to Alfie to pay off some men in the hope of locating Zoe. Both Stacey and Alfie have kept it all from Kat and instead, Stacey allowed Kat to think Alfie was helping her cousin Hayley and Alfie's daughter Cherry. So Alfie faced a race against time to get the phone and delete the voicemail to stop Kat learning the truth. But instead, Harry stole the phone which means the message will remain on there unless it deletes after a certain amount of time. So whether Harry returns the phone or she gets it back somehow all remains to be seen. ‌ Surely the message is a ticking time-bomb, as is the truth about Zoe. Will this phone theft and the message somehow trigger Zoe's comeback? After all, we know Zoe is returning to Walford very soon. Michelle Ryan, the actress who plays Zoe, has already begun filming summer scenes. With it very nearly August and her filming for weeks, it's safe to assume Zoe will be back in Albert Square, for the first time in two decades, very, very soon. ‌ Within a few weeks it's thought she will be back on the show, given the gap between filming and transmission. So something has to happen relatively soon that will trigger Zoe's Walford comeback - but will it be linked to Harry and the phone theft? Might he answer a call or listen to the message and realise the importance of Kat getting her phone back? Might Zoe make contact? Viewers will just have to tune in and see what happens next.
