Robert closes in on deadly John truth in Emmerdale as he makes two discoveries
Last week, after getting word that Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) had confessed to Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) murder, Robert learnt that his brother visited Owen right before he ended his life.
Smelling a rat, Robert then contacted Owen's brother Steve, who confirmed the siblings were in Hull the day Nate died, which meant Owen did not kill him.
Unfortunately, his attempt at telling the police didn't work due to Steve lying to them about where he was. It looked as though Robert wasn't being honest, so DC Cole sent him on his way after wasting police time.
In the pub, as he enjoyed a drink with Victoria (Isabel Hodgins), he discovered the time Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) suffered an allergic reaction to nut milk, and how John saved him.
It was a very brief moment so in this evening's episode, Robert began more digging.
In the shop, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) said that Jacob is typically very careful with his nut allergy, and always has EpiPens dotted around in case something happens. As Robert listened, he learnt that there was one specific time that Jacob drank the wrong coffee and also didn't have a pen near him.
Conveniently, John was on hand in that exact moment to help Jacob. He used an EpiPen on him, saving his life.
Robert was incredibly suspicious, and even more so when Eric then told him about the time John saved Chas Dingle's (Lucy Pargeter) life after being spiked.

To Eric and the rest of the villagers, it's simply just a case of John being there at the right time – constantly. More Trending

Netflix fans 'genuinely confused' as period drama reboot makes baffling change
It is a truth universally acknowledged that Mr Wickham is classic literature's most dastardly character – but fans are worried Netflix's Pride and Prejudice reboot has already made a big mistake. The highly-anticipated six episode adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved novel is helmed by Everything I Know About Love's Dolly Alderton. The period drama remake stars Emma Corrin as our literary heroine Elizabeth Bennett opposite Jack Lowden's broody Mr Darcy as well as Oliva Colman as the ever-worried Mrs Bennett. The stacked cast doesn't end there with stars like Jamie Demetriou, Fiona Shaw and Rufus Sewell also making up the ensemble cast. As Netflix dropped their first look of the series – which features the Bennett sisters with their vibrant mother in period-typical clothing – they also announced Enola Holmes star Louis Partridge as the villainous Mr Wickham. For those unversed in the plot of Pride and Prejudice (brace yourself for 200-year-old spoilers) Wickham was Darcy's agemate and was adopted into his home growing up. After Darcy's father died, however, he unveiled himself as a scammer who preys on young girls, not least Darcy's own teenage sister Georgiana and, as we uncover in the book, Lizzie's young and flighty sister Lydia Bennett. Both Darcy and Wickham are understood to be in their late 20s, with the actors portraying them in various adaptations aged from their mid 20s to mid 30s over the years. For example, in the 1995 BBC adaptation, Wickham is played by a 37-year-old Adrian Lukis, although this was different in the 2005 version in which he was played by a 24-year-old Rupert Friend. All this to say, at only 22, Partridge is youngest (and certainly the youngest-looking) star to play the novel's villain yet especially in contrast to Lowden who is 35-years-old. What's more, Heartstopper's Rhea Norwood who will play 15-year-old Lydia is older then Partridge at 24 which has never happened in a major adaptation before. Given Wickham's nefarious nature as a groomer who takes advantage of vulnerable young girls is a central part of his character and the plot, many fans are concerned that this will be lost in the surprise casting. 'Genuinely confused because the obvious evilness of Wickham is that he clearly grooms Georgiana and Lydia using his older age as a way to 'charm' them… and now he's closer in age to them than Mr. Darcy?' Taylisaprint echoed. 'The point in the end was Mr Wickham was a predator. He's supposed to be played by a grown man to emphasis him running off with her underage sister,' dojasbin agreed. 'Wickham is meant to be predatory before being a scammer in the story. That is a key part of his character and how he takes advantage of lydia's youth and naivete, removing that flips the dynamic entirely,' doedamseI added. Many made it clear while they love Partridge as an actor, he is just not the right fit for this – especially contrasted to the age of the rest of the cast. 'I'm not happy with the Wickham casting. this is no shade to louis at all but it should be someone older than 25,' knjoonlight shared. Theatre school founder and ‘true visionary' Sylvia Young dies aged 86
Sylvia Young – the founder of a theatre school which taught the likes of singer Amy Winehouse, EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt and James Bond star Lashana Lynch – has been hailed as a 'true visionary' after she died aged 86. Her daughters Alison and Frances Ruffelle said it was with 'great sadness' that they confirmed the death of their mother – who 'passed away peacefully' on Wednesday, in a statement posted on the Sylvia Young Agency Instagram account. Their statement read: 'Our mum was a true visionary, she gave young people from all walks of life the chance to pursue their performing arts skills to the highest standard. 'Her rare ability to recognise raw talent and encourage all her students contributed to the richness of today's theatre and music world, even winning herself an Olivier Award along the way. 'She believed hard work with a bit of luck brought success, and she was an example of that herself. She leaves as her legacy a wealth of brilliant performers, a thriving school bearing her name, and a priceless place in the nation's heart.' The Sylvia Young Theatre School, which was established in 1972 offering full-time and part-time courses, produced a wide range of stars from singers such as Dua Lipa and Rita Ora, to actors such as Doctor Who's Billie Piper and Nosferatu's Nicholas Hoult. Young's daughters added: 'Above all she leaves the memory of an East End girl who worked hard to achieve her goals, took hold of life, and lived it to the full. 'Her family were everything to her, her wonderful husband, our dad, Norman and her grandchildren Eliza, Nat, Felix and Coral plus her great grandson Rex. 'We share her love with her wide and inclusive family, her friends, her students. You all meant the world to her. 'We will miss her so very much.' McFly star Tom Fletcher met his wife, podcaster and presenter Giovanna Fletcher, at the school, which they attended from the age of 13, with Young attending their wedding. In a tribute, Giovanna posted on Instagram: 'My life would not be what it is without Sylvia Young. 'I remember watching Sylvia on Live And Kicking when I was 12 years old, she was talking about her school and all the fun they had there. 'I phoned up for a brochure and applied for a scholarship without telling my mum and dad, I didn't get the scholarship, but I got a place with a 'deal' attached because Sylvia wanted me there – something I quickly learned the majority of the 140 students had.' She continued: 'I loved sitting in Sylvia's office and watching her work. 'She was meticulous, she knew what every child was up to and how to get the best out of everyone, she was devoted to helping her kids and I know how much she cared for each of us. Sometimes she cared when others didn't – helping some incredible talent flourish in the process. 'No-one ever wanted to upset Sylvia and that's not because she would get angry and shout, quite the opposite, Sylvia's disapproval was enough – because we all knew how lucky we were to be at that school, doing what we loved. We all wanted to impress her, and that never stopped.' In a comment on Young's daughters' social media post, actress Bonnie Langford added: 'Such sad news, Sylvia was such an inspiring, kind and generous person. 'She made a difference to so many and will be missed by so many, love to all the family and all those who she made feel were her family. Heartfelt condolences to you Frances and Alison and to Stephen and all the team.' Radio presenter Tony Blackburn, who was a friend of Young, also paid tribute in a post on X. He said: 'So sorry to hear Sylvia Young has passed away, she founded the Sylvia Young Theatre School which has been responsible for starting so many careers in TV and Theatre. 'She was a very lovely lady who I have had the privilege of knowing for many years. She will be sadly missed.' Young was the subject of an episode of This Is Your Life in 1998, and was appointed an Officer Of The Order Of The British Empire (OBE) in 2005 for her services to the arts. She married Norman Ruffelle in London in 1961, and is the grandmother of singer Eliza Doolittle.
