Oman, Bahrain explore strengthening trade and investment cooperation

Muscat: Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), on Tuesday received Abdulla Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation between Oman and Bahrain, expanding opportunities for private sector partnerships in both countries through joint ventures and knowledge exchange, contributing to bilateral relations and economic integration.
The meeting also reviewed opportunities in key economic sectors of mutual interest and explored mechanisms to activate the private sector's role in establishing joint projects that support economic development in both nations.
Al Rowas emphasised the significant progress in economic relations between Oman and Bahrain, expressing hope that this meeting would lead to further initiatives boosting trade and investment cooperation while opening new avenues for business owners in promising economic sectors.
He highlighted the private sector's pivotal role in driving future cooperation through strategic partnerships and high-quality projects that align with both countries' development visions—"Oman Vision 2040" and "Bahrain 2030"—while praising the efforts of the Oman-Bahrain Investment Company and the Oman-Bahrain Friendship Society in strengthening bilateral ties.
The meeting was attended by several OCCI board members, executive officials, and representatives from both sides.

It also featured a discussion session on the experiences of institutions, and interactive workshops that dealt with the use of emotional intelligence in motivation, providing feedback, and enhancing group productivity. On its second day, the conference will continue with specialized sessions on the relationship between emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence, effective leadership, measuring productivity and ways to develop it, in addition to interactive meetings and dialogues with leaders in the field of human resources development. The conference is organized by Al Asayel Conferences in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, the Office of the Governor of Dhofar, and the Dhofar branch of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, It aims to raise awareness on the importance of emotional intelligence in work environments and providing practical strategies to enhance productivity, as well as coming up with a platform for exchanging regional and global experiences and expertise.

By OUR CORRESPONDENT Seoul – H E Mohsin bin Hamad al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, met in Seoul with His Excellency Lee Ho–hyun, Second Assistant Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Kang Kyung-sung, CEO of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector and advance the third round of green hydrogen projects. The meetings reflect Oman's commitment to positioning itself as a leading regional hub for green hydrogen production, supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy and enhancing the Sultanate's competitiveness in global energy markets. These efforts are aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and the country's goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. The discussions were also attended by H E Zakaria bin Hamad al Saadi, Ambassador of Oman to South Korea, and Eng. Abdulaziz bin Saeed al Shaikhani, General Manager of Hydrogen Oman Company (Hydrom).
