
GCC conference on Human Resources Productivity opens in Salalah
The 2-day conference focuses on four main themes, namely the relationship between emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence in enhancing productivity, the impact of emotional intelligence on occupational health and safety, the role of technology in improving performance, in addition to emotional intelligence as a tool for successful leadership.
The first day's programme included sessions that discussed the role of emotional intelligence in the present and future, and ways to build a work culture based on emotional intelligence. It also featured a discussion session on the experiences of institutions, and interactive workshops that dealt with the use of emotional intelligence in motivation, providing feedback, and enhancing group productivity.
On its second day, the conference will continue with specialized sessions on the relationship between emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence, effective leadership, measuring productivity and ways to develop it, in addition to interactive meetings and dialogues with leaders in the field of human resources development.
The conference is organized by Al Asayel Conferences in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, the Office of the Governor of Dhofar, and the Dhofar branch of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
It aims to raise awareness on the importance of emotional intelligence in work environments and providing practical strategies to enhance productivity, as well as coming up with a platform for exchanging regional and global experiences and expertise.

CBO announces auction results of 76th GDB issue
Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) on Wednesday announced the Auction results of the 76th Government Development Bonds (GDB) issue worth OMR90 million. According to a media release issued by CBO's Market Operations Department, the 76th GDB Issue, which received overwhelming response from investors, has received applications amounted OMR189,051,000. The average yield was 4.32 percent at an equivalent price of OMR100.135, while the highest yield was 4.34 percent at an equivalent price of OMR100.045 and the lowest was at 4.28 percent at an equivalent price of OMR100.310. The 5-year Bond will be issued on Sunday 24 August 2025 and it will mature on 24 August 2030, carrying a coupon rate of 4.35 % p.a.

Seven MoUs signed at Tamkeen & Sumo exhibition to boost SMEs
The Tamkeen & Sumo exhibition, hosted by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), represented by its Small and Medium Enterprises Committee, concluded today at Atina Land in Dhofar Governorate. More than 75 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) took part in the event, highlighting products and services from diverse sectors including tourism, retail, food and beverage and handicrafts. The exhibition witnessed the signing of seven cooperation memorandums between participating entities to support the purchase and promotion of SME products among various institutions, thereby enhancing the sustainability of their businesses. In addition, OCCI's Social Investment Centre signed a MoU with Business Development Centre, owner of the 'Hessati' social investment platform, aimed at expanding cooperation in developing social investment tools and empowering SME owners through innovative models aligned with the goals of Oman Vision 2040. The exhibition forms part of the OCCI's strategic focus on improving the business environment, expanding economic diversification, and driving regional development. It drew a wide turnout from visitors, innovators and entrepreneurship enthusiasts, as well as SMEs who benefited from networking and showcasing opportunities. The venue featured several specialised zones including the Entrepreneurs Corner, Innovation Corner, Handicrafts Workshop area and the Young Pioneer Corner which highlighted children's talents and products. Also held was the Sohar International Competition, designed to encourage excellence in product presentation, identity and creativity among entrepreneurs. Sheikh Ahmed bin Amer Al Musalhi, Chairman of OCCI's Small and Medium Enterprises Committee, stated that the strong turnout reflects the success of the exhibition in achieving its goals. He noted that the event provided an opportunity to showcase competitive national products that support the national economy and strengthen the presence of Omani goods locally and internationally, while promoting a culture of entrepreneurship. Enhancing the market access of SMEs, he affirmed, contributes to the sustainability of their businesses and strengthens their role in supporting the national economy and advancing diversification. He added that the exhibition enabled participating businesses to present their products and services to a wide segment of the public, in addition to benefitting from various workshops and working sessions.

Tender floated for Sohar Link to Al Batinah Expressway
Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has announced the tender for the design and implementation of dual carriageway road project of Sohar link in the North Al Batinah Governorate. The project will stretch from the Al Wahat Mall roundabout to the bridge connecting to the Al Batinah Expressway, with a length of approximately 9 kilometers and an implementation period of up to 18 months. The project includes the construction of a number of roundabouts and box culverts to ensure smooth traffic flow during rainfall, in addition to installing light poles. This will enhance the road's efficiency, raise the level of traffic safety, and meet the needs of its users.
