Miley Cyrus claims she was once blamed for dad's Hannah Montana drug use
Miley Cyrus has claimed her dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to 'smoke pot' on the set of Hannah Montana – and she got the blame.
The 32-year-old singer, who shot to fame playing a teenage school girl with a secret life as a pop star on the Disney Channel sitcom between 2006 and 2011, admitted the awkward moment was her most 'hilarious' memory from the series.
During an appearance on her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus' Sorry We're Cyrus podcast, Miley was asked to share her funniest memory from the show.
'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it. It's hilarious,' she recalled. 'He wasn't sharing 'cause Tish wasn't toking yet.'
Her mother laughed as she remembered the incident, and joked she tried to defend her then-husband – who she divorced in 2023 – while putting the blame on Miley's co-star Mitchel Musso.
'They were calling me, saying B-Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying: ''Absolutely not, he would never do that. It's Mitchel Musso,'' she quipped.
Miley replied: 'Well, it was Mitchel. It was Mitchel Musso! It was both.'
However, Mitchel – who played Miley's friend Oliver on the show – had different memories of the incident.
'Well, that's not how I remember it,' the 33-year-old former child star said in a statement to E! News. 'However, I've got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about.
'If we're revisiting Hannah Montana history – just say the word. All love to Miley and the fam … even when the rewrites get this creative.'
Elsewhere during the chat with her mum and sister, Miley also revealed a recent incident in which her mother seemingly unfollowed her on Instagram after the singer went to see Billy Ray, 63. More Trending
This sparked rumours of another family feud – but the singer has revealed it was actually just a 'bug' in the platform.
'If you were in the family or not in the family, it was weird timing. I went to see B-Ray, and you did mysteriously unfollow me – and then you got some backlash and suddenly knew how to press that follow button,' she joked.
'The truth is boring. There's a bug in Meta, it naturally unfollows the person that you follow with the most engagement … I was either, like: 'Mom lost her glasses and can't see,' which is what I thought happened. Then, there was actually a bug in Meta.'

Retro US-style roadside diners become tourist attraction in the UK – it's like going back to the 1970s
Plus, Sun Travel visited another American-style diner here in the UK EAT UP Retro US-style roadside diners become tourist attraction in the UK – it's like going back to the 1970s Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE US is so far away, but luckily, there are diners right here in the UK that are strikingly similar to the diners we have all seen in classic American movies. With comfy seating booths, juicy burgers, pancake stacks and sundaes, visitors have confessed the diner makes them feel like they're in the 1970s. The inspiration behind the chain sparked from the owners' childhood trips to roadside restaurants - in particular, Little Chef which ceased operations in 2017. All of the Brightside diners are open from Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm to accommodate those on long journeys and travelling. In the mornings, Brightside has American dishes like Early Rider which is a mix of smoked streaky bacon, The Jolly Hog 'Proper Porker' sausage, egg, baked beans and sourdough toast. There's also pancake stacks with either fruit or bacon toppings and veggie options. Certain breakfast dishes are served as part of the all day breakfast, but other tasty meals include pizza, burgers, fish and chips, and curry. Also served are sides of chunky chips, cheesy garlic dough balls and macaroni chips. Other classic American items include the big selection of milkshakes with chocolate flavours, strawberry, banana, salted caramel and Biscoff. There's also an option to pick from the 'Speedy Menu' for those needing to get back on the road in a hurry. There's also a children's menu as well as vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Across the UK, there are four restaurants, in Honiton, Exeter, Saltash and Ram Jam in Oakham. One visitor to the diner in Saltash wrote: "Thought I'd give this place a try as it's on my way home. Glad I did, the restaurant has cracking retro decor and feel and food was great! Seen somewhere saying it's like Stranger Things, I definitely agree." Another, who had a meal at the Exeter site, added: "Some nice outdoor seating and really cute 1970s style diner done really well." A third visited Honiton and said: "What a great find a fantastic American style roadside diner open all day for breakfast lunch and dinner." These impressive restaurants are ones you will find inside redesigned planes - and there's one in the UK. And Sun Travel reviewed the Mollie's Motel & Diner in Oxfordshire. ‘It is horrendous' – Ally McCoist confesses to epic fail ahead of final day of Rangers legend's charity bike ride
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THERE was time for a couple of awkward moments this morning as Ally McCoist embarked on the last leg of his charity bike ride in honour of the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. The big hearted Rangers icon and pal Kenny Logan are cycling from Belfast to Dublin to present the match ball for tonight's British and Irish Lions opener against Argentina at the Aviva Stadium in honour of late Scottish and Lions rugby hero Doddie Weir's motor neurone charity. But one mishap presented itself this morning when a sheepish McCoist was told he had to wear his red cycling jersey for the final stage of the journey. That's because he had omitted to take said item out of his kit bag - meaning it was now rather smelly. In a video for Instagram, the Gers icon told pal Mel Deane: "I've just found out its the red top we're wearing today and that wouldn't normally be a problem. "But the problem is I had my red top on on Monday and I've not done anything with it yet [in terms of getting it washed]. "It is horrendous. Seriously, I'm not even joking! I have to put that on!" It's bean an arduous journey all right for Coisty and co and his cycling shoes aren't much better. In another jokey piece with pal Mel, McCoist holds them up to the camera and says: "I've got news for you. "I've just received an email from the head of the European Cycling Federation. "He's not asking me, he's DEMANDING that these end up in the cycling hall of fame in Paris." Rangers hero Ally McCoist lands massive double bed and tells roommate 'it'll be interesting when Gabby Logan gets here' Deane asks: "Oh will you manage to get your feet into them today?" McCoist replied: "I've no idea - it took me 26 minutes yesterday to get them out." Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
