Set in the timeline between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4, the film follows Eve on a relentless mission of revenge against those responsible for her family's destruction. While firmly rooted in the franchise's gritty, action-packed world, Ballerina breaks new ground. Eve may inhabit the same violent world as John Wick, but she isn't his successor; she's a challenger to the myth.
One of the film's most anticipated moments sees Eve confront the Baba Yaga himself in a tense and cinematic showdown.
According to de Armas, the scene is pivotal, 'He's the one that, especially if you're a student at the Ruska Roma or that's who you're trying to become, he's the one that you look up to.'
