The stellar play from the Brewers has captured the attention of Chicago's All-Star Matthew Boyd and he knows how good of a team both Milwaukee and Chicago are.
"They're a good ball club," Boyd said on the "Foul Territory" podcast. "We know how good we are too. They're doing what they're doing and you trust that when Sept. 30 rolls around, the standings will settle themselves where they need to be."
Boyd's acknowledgment of Milwaukee's success is a testament to just how good Pat Murphy's squad has been since the beginning of July.
After their win on Monday, the Brewers reached a 10-game winning streak for the second time this season.
They entered Tuesday with the best record in MLB by a full five games.

While it's hard for a division to be decided in late August, there is a chance that happens next week.
Beginning next Monday, the Brewers and Cubs will meet at Wrigley field for a rare five-game series spanned across four days.
If the standings were to stay exactly how they currently are, Milwaukee would enter the series with a 6 1/2-game lead over Chicago.
Milwaukee winning four or even all five games in the series could increase its division lead to double digits with just one month of the season remaining.

Romero worked around three hits and a walk on Sunday against the Cubs, holding on for a four-out save. He then surrendered two runs against the Rockies on Wednesday to blow the save and take the loss. With Romero the only healthy left-hander in the Cardinals bullpen, Riley O'Brien could figure into the saves mix on a matchup basis. The late-inning mess continues in Texas. Morillo picked up a save in his first appearance since he was recalled from Triple-A. Andrew Saalfrank then got the save chance on Wednesday, while Kyle Backhus also remains in the mix. Akin seems to be the guy in Baltimore, though he was charged with two blown saves this week.

The Cubs are making a splash. Chicago is calling up outfield prospect Owen Caissie from Triple-A Iowa, ESPN reported Wednesday night. The expectation is that Caissie, an Ontario, Canada native, will join the team for its series final against the Blue Jays. He's always had plenty of swing-and-miss in his game, though, this year included, with a 28 percent punchout rate. The move comes amid a complete upheaval in the standings over the last month, which has seen the Cubs go from one game up in the National League Central on July 19 to 7 1/2 games back of the Brewers as Milwaukee rides a 12-game winning streak. Chicago does sit 4 games up in the NL wild-card race despite the recent stretch, however. Over the last two weeks, Chicago's offense has completely sputtered, coming into Wednesday night's 4-1 win over the Blue Jays with a .230 average and a .644 OPS over the last 14 days.
