Chhattisgarh: CM leads 'Tiranga Shaurya Samman Yatra' in honour of armed forces
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 as a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists affiliated with terror outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian soldiers, saying, 'Many thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the brave soldiers of our country for the great success of Operation Sindoor.'
He emphasized the importance of the Operation Sindoor in countering terrorism, particularly in Pahalgam, where Pakistani terrorists brutally targeted civilians based on their religion.
He continued, 'In Pahalgam, Pakistani terrorists asked people about their religion and then brutally killed them. No condemnation is enough. Our soldiers destroyed the centre of terrorism by conducting Operation Sindoor. We salute the courage and bravery of the country's soldiers.'
After the Operation Sindoor, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir as well as drone attacks along the border regions, following which India launched a coordinated counter-attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centres and airfields across 11 airbases in Pakistan.
BJP launched a nationwide Tiranga Yatra on Tuesday. The yatra aims to honour the valour of Indian soldiers and inform citizens about Operation Sindoor's recent success. It will continue until May 23.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also participated in the Tiranga Shaurya Samman Yatra in Haldwani on Saturday. The yatra is dedicated to the success of Operation Sindoor conducted by the Indian Armed Forces and their effectively repelling subsequent aggression by Pakistan.
The Tiranga Shaurya Samman Yatra was organised from the Mini Stadium, Haldwani, to the Shaheed Park. Thousands of people including youth, women, ex-servicemen, participated in the padyatra with the Tricolour. (ANI)

Following the flag-hoisting, Governor Varma took the guard of honour, exchanged greetings with Raj Bhavan officers, staff, police, and security personnel, and personally distributed sweets to staff members. Incidentally, August 15 is also Governor Varma's birthday. Officials, staff, and guests present extended their warm wishes to him on the occasion, adding a personal note to the day's celebrations. In his address, Governor Varma extended warm greetings to the people of Telangana and all citizens of India, describing Independence Day as 'not merely a date on the calendar, but a sacred occasion to honour the hard-earned freedom of the nation.' He paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices laid the foundation of independent India and recalled the enduring principles of Ahimsa and Satyagraha championed by Mahatma Gandhi — ideals that, he said, 'shook an empire and inspired generations.' He lauded Telangana's achievements in irrigation, technology, artificial intelligence, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology, and praised the valour of the armed forces, citing the recent 'Operation Sindoor' as a shining example of the nation's resolve and capability. Ministers, government advisors and chairpersons of corporations led the Independence Day celebrations at headquarters of 32 districts. The Independence Day celebrations were also held at the State Assembly, State Secretariat Hyderabad High Court and offices of all political parties. Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and Legislative Council Chairman G. Sukhender Reddy hoisted the national flag at Assembly premises. At a ceremony held at Telangana High Court, Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh unfurled the national flag. Putin leads global greetings on I-Day, says India enjoys 'well-deserved' respect on global stage

Delhi BJP chief seeks public support for reshaping national capital
New Delhi: Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva hoisted the national flag at the city party office and urged people to take the pledge of working with the government to reshape the national capital. Sachdeva paid tributes to the martyrs of Pahalgam and congratulated the Indian Armed Forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, which restored India's pride. A key promise in BJP's manifesto, the Atal Canteen Scheme promises nutritious food at a nominal price of Rs 5 to residents of slum areas in Delhi. On its implementation, the Atal Canteen Scheme will be the first of its kind, offering nutritious food at such an affordable price. Earlier targeting the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for slowing down development in the city, the CM said, 'It was a matter of shame that even after 78 years of Independence, the Capital had to struggle to fulfil its needs and aspirations. It is really painful that the Yamuna was neglected for years, without any serious effort to clean it.' She said: 'As the head of the Delhi government, I promise you that the Yamuna will become pristine again and its banks will turn welcoming for prayers and festivities.'
