James Gunn issues update on The Batman II and Wonder Woman

Perth Nowa day ago

James Gunn is expecting to see The Batman: Part II script "shortly".
The DC Studios co-CEO admitted he "can't wait" to read the screenplay for the forthcoming film, which will see Robert Pattinson reprise his role as Batman/ Bruce Wayne, and he admitted director Matt Reeves is doing some "really important" work.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: "What Matt's doing is still really important, despite all stories to the contrary.
"We're supposed to see that script shortly, and I can't wait."
Gunn also confirmed the script for the DC Universe's (DCU's) Wonder Woman movie is "being written right now".
Pattinson, 39, first portrayed The Dark Knight in Reeves' 2022 movie The Batman, but the actor fears he is going to be "old" by the time he makes The Batman: Part II.
Speaking recently with his Mickey 17 co-star Naomi Ackie about whether he'd play Batman again soon for Hero magazine, Pattinson said: "I f****** hope so.
"I started out as young Batman and I'm going to be f****** old Batman by the sequel."
Despite his advancing years, the Twilight star insisted he was "healthier" and had lowered his "biological age".
Speaking in March, ahead of turning 39 in May, Pattinson said: "I'm 38, I'm old. I'm old, but I'm healthier. I think I've actually brought my biological age down a bit."
The Batman: Part II was initially slated to hit cinemas in October 2026, but the movie was delayed to the following year to allow Reeves enough time to complete the script.
Gunn later defended the push back.
He wrote on Threads: "To be fair, a 5 year gap or more is fairly common in sequels. 7 years between Alien and Aliens. 14 years between Incredibles. 7 years between the first two Terminators. 13 years between Avatars. 36 years between Top Guns. And, of course, 6 years between Guardians Vol 2 and Vol 3."
Pattinson recently confirmed principal photography on The Batman: Part II would begin at the end of 2025.

Jennie Garth shocked when ex-husband Peter Facinelli joined Raya in search of a younger woman

Jennie Garth was shocked to learn her ex-husband wanted to date women around the age of their eldest daughter. The 53-year-old actress split from the Twilight actor - with whom she has Luca, 27, Lola, 22, and 18-year-old Fiona, while he also has two-year-old Jack with fiancee Lily Anne Harrison - in 2013 and she's told how Luca "came across" her 51-year-old dad's profile on exclusive dating app Raya. Speaking on the I Do, Part 2 podcast, she said: 'My ex-husband Peter, I was told, was on Raya, and his age, whatever range, that he was looking for was also the age range of his oldest daughter." Last year, the Beverly Hills 90210 star - who is now married to Dave Abrams - invited Peter onto her podcast, I Choose Me, and the pair reflected on how their relationship has changed in the years since their marriage ended. Peter said: 'We haven't really spoken a lot about life stuff in years, so I honestly don't know you and I don't think you know me. "And yet, it's like when you go home and you're with your mom or your dad or, you know, your sisters and they just treat you like you're 16, 17, 18, like, you know the time they saw you last when you were younger, and so there's this feeling of like, 'Oh, I know her because we were together for so long, but you've grown into this mature, wonderful adult woman and I've grown.'' Meanwhile, this week Fiona joined Jennie on the podcast and they called the Supergirl actor to discuss the teenager's recent high school graduation, with Peter admitting it had left him feeling "numb" to see his "baby" growing up. He said: 'I feel very numb. Honestly, it's been a very numbing experience. Yeah. I don't know if it's all hit me yet. 'You know, you're our baby, so you're all growing up and it's a whole new chapter. And I feel like I don't know how to feel. I really feel like I haven't fully experienced all the emotions.' While Fiona acknowledged she also felt "a little numb", she was also "really happy". She said: 'Honestly, it feels like I'm just so happy that I don't have to go back to high school. "I feel a little numb too, like, definitely hasn't set in that I'm not going back, you know, like when summer ends. But I am actually really happy and I feel like kind of just at peace. 'It's really nice, like, waking up and not feeling stressed to do anything, like just kind of having a moment to just kind of regenerate. 'And it's different from most summers because usually when school ends for that year, you always think about, oh, I'm going back and I have like summer reading to do. "But right now, I just feel like I'm moving on to the next thing, and although change feels scary a little bit, like, I don't really know what to expect. I feel like it's going to be good.'

Tarek El Moussa cited for battery

Tarek El Moussa has been cited for battery. The Flip or Flop star reportedly got into a physical altercation with a man at the Venetian hotel and casino in Las Vegas last week, but was not arrested over the incident. An incident report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department seen by Entertainment Weekly noted Tarek was cited for battery after allegedly "pushing and using his right hand to punch" the man, whose name was redacted for privacy reasons, "in his head multiple times" on 5 June. The 43-year-old HGTV personality claimed the incident occurred when he was defending his elderly father. His attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, said in a statement, "Tarek intends to contest these allegations in a court of law where he will assert his right to self-defence and the defence of his elderly and infirmed father." According to the incident report, when police arrived, the alleged victim claimed he had been sitting at a roulette table when a stranger approached him "aggressively and hit him", but he couldn't give details such as how he was hit or how many times, but stressed he wanted to press charges. Tarek told cops the man had hit his dad on the back with his hand, so he got out of his chair to confront the guy and protect his father, who has back problems, but declined to say more without a lawyer present. Surveillance footage obtained by police appeared to indicate that Tarek's dad, whose name was also redacted, was sitting at a roulette table with the man standing nearby. At one point, he could be seen getting upset and turning to glare at the stranger, and while it was unclear why he was unhappy, the report stated "it appeared that [redacted] could have potentially bumped into his chair." Tarek's dad continued his game until the other man touched his right shoulder, when they exchanged words. When the reality star saw what was happening, he is said to have "charged at [redacted] and shoved him". The report continued: "[Redacted] shoved him back, and they both took a fighting stance. Then [redacted] appeared to go for a takedown at the legs of El Moussa. Due to the angle of the footage it is not certain but appeared that when [redacted went for] the takedown, he was struck with the knee of El Moussa, then fell to the floor, and El Moussa mounted his back and threw three more strikes with his fist to the head of [redacted] before getting up and walking away." The alleged victim had bruising beneath his right eye and a cut on the bridge of his nose.

Kate Beckinsale suing Canary Black producers over knee injury

According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly, the English actress suffered a serious knee injury, while filming in allegedly "dangerous and unsafe conditions" on a set in Croatia back in December 2022. Beckinsale argued the scene, in which she was thrown against a wall by another actor, should have been performed by a stunt artist. She also claimed there was minimal padding during some sequences. 'Ms. Beckinsale complained that the scene did not seem safe, and that the throwing of her into the wall was too hard and too dangerous..."
