Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation, saying he made clear the country's resolve to strike back the very moment its enemies dared to make a mistake. In his first address to the nation after Operation Sindoor , the prime minister sternly warned Pakistan that India would not succumb to "nuclear blackmail" and sent a clear message to the world that terror and trade, terror and talks could not go together."Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji today demarcated the boundary for Bharat's enemies through the example of Operation Sindoor, in which our armed forces razed the very edifice of terrorism in Pakistan's backyard," Shah said in a post on X.The country's armed forces made Pakistan shudder with their might and set a new normal of zero tolerance for terrorism, he added."Modi ji has reiterated our resolve that Bharat will strike back the very moment our enemies dare to make a mistake," Shah said.The nation salutes the unparalleled valour of the armed forces, the home minister said in a separate post, describing them as "destroyers of the country's enemies and the shield of Bharat"."We also salute our first line of defence, the courageous personnel of the BSF ( Border Security Force ). The bravery of our forces will forever be etched in our glorious history," he said.The prime minister has proven, time and again, that no enemy of Bharat can go unpunished, Shah said as he congratulated Modi for his exemplary leadership in delivering justice to the "departed souls of our innocent brothers".In his address, the prime minister called Operation Sindoor India's new policy against terrorism."It is the new normal. We have only kept in abeyance our operations against Pakistan and the future will depend on their behaviour," Modi said.

Role of Jaish-e-Mohammed Jaish-e-Mohammed is declared a banned terrorist organization by the United Nations and is also believed to be responsible for several major attacks in India, including the 2019 Pulwama attack, in which 40 Indian soldiers were martyred. Apart from terrorism, Brad Sherman also expressed concern over the condition of minorities in Pakistan. He said that Christians, Hindus and Ahmadiya Muslims in Pakistan should get complete freedom to follow their faith without fear and participate in the democratic system. Demand for release of Dr. Shakeel Afridi The US lawmaker also demanded the release of Dr. Shakeel Afridi, who allegedly ran a fake polio vaccination campaign to find Osama bin Laden with the help of the CIA, was arrested in 2011 and sentenced to 33 years. Sherman said that the release of Dr. Afridi would be a big step towards justice and closure to the victims of 9/11.

Three 800MW power plant units approved for Punjab
Chandigarh: Union power minister Manohar Lal Khattar approved the setting up of three additional 800 MW power generation units in the state, announced Punjab power minister Harbhajan Singh on Friday. The demand was raised by Harbhajan Singh at the North Indian Power Ministers' Conference, which was chaired by Union power minister Khattar, with participation from ministers and officials from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Delhi. The Punjab govt demanded an increase in the existing power generation capacity of Ropar thermal plant , stating that while Punjab has its own coal mines, the Centre's condition of not transporting coal beyond 1,000 km is creating difficulties in expanding the capacity of these thermal plants.
