MNS alleges some Thane schools continue to teach Hindi to primary students, despite stay order by CM
Thane: The Thane unit of the MNS has alleged that a few city schools are continuing to teach Hindi to primary section students despite a stay ordered by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the issue. A delegation of MNS activists, led by Thane Party president Avinash Jadhav, armed with a weekly subject-wise timetable of a standard III class issued by a suburban school, met Thane education department officials on July 30. The activists informed that a few schools, especially from Diva, were teaching the subject, claiming they had already received Hindi subject study material. "Some schools have started teaching Hindi to primary section students, claiming they haven't received any orders from the education department. The CM issued a stay on the issue, and it is surprising how his instructions are not followed at the ground level. We have requested the administration to probe the issue and immediately restrict these schools from teaching Hindi, else we will stage a protest," said Jadhav. Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Friday said his govt has doubled the honorarium for cooks, night watchmen, and physical education & health instructors working in the state govt schools. "The honorarium for cooks working under the education department's midday meal programme has been doubled from Rs 1,650 to Rs 3,300 per month. Similarly, the honorarium for night guards in the secondary/higher secondary schools has also been doubled from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 per month," the CM said in a post on X. "The remuneration for physical education & health instructors has also been doubled from Rs 8,000 to Rs 16,000 per month. Additionally, their annual salary increment has also been doubled from Rs 200 to Rs 400. This will boost the morale of the working personnel, encouraging them to perform their duties with greater enthusiasm and dedication," Nitish said in the post in Hindi. In the beginning of his post, Nitish said, "Since the formation of the govt in Nov 2005, we have been consistently working to improve the education system. In 2005, the total budget of education (dept) was Rs 4,366 crore, which has now increased to Rs 77,690 crore. Significant improvements in the education system have been made through the appointment of a large number of teachers, construction of new school buildings, and development of infrastructure. " "Cooks, night guards, and physical education & health instructors have played an important role in strengthening the education system. Keeping this in mind, we have decided to double the honorarium of these personnel by making a "respectable increase" in their remuneration," the CM said. Welcoming the govt's decision, JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha on Friday said by doubling the honorarium of these personnel, the CM has once again proven that his governance style is a testament to human sensitivity, social justice, and inclusive development. "This decision will instil pride, stability, and hope in the thousands of families," Kushwaha said.

Flow like water, don't explode like a bomb: BJP's dig at Rahul Gandhi on his ‘atom bomb' remarks
'If they explode a bomb, we will save the Constitution,' it said. The ruling party also slammed Gandhi for using 'undemocratic and undignified' language to target the poll panel. New Delhi, Aug 1 (PTI) Responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's claim that his party has an 'atom bomb' of evidence against the Election Commission on poll irregularities, the BJP on Friday asked him to 'flow like water' instead of 'exploding like a bomb'. The response comes after the Congress leader claimed that his party has 'open and shut' evidence of alleged poll irregularities by the Election Commission. Likening the proof to an atom bomb, Gandhi said that the poll panel will have no place to hide when it explodes. Replying to a query from reporters on the Congress leader's remarks, BJP leader Sambit Patra said, 'Will Rahul Gandhi explode like a bomb? What do you think? Their job is to explode. They have no other work to do.' He said the Opposition party speaks of such things because they have no faith in democracy. 'Think what kind of language this is: I (Gandhi) will explode on the Election Commission!' Patra told reporters at the BJP headquarters. 'You say 'I will go to Supreme Court against the Election Commission' or 'I will protest against it in a democratic manner', but 'exploding like a bomb'? The language (of Gandhi) itself is undemocratic and undignified,' Patra said. The BJP leader said the language Gandhi used shows that 'these people want to explode like bombs'. 'We have faith in democracy. If they detonate an atom bomb, we will save the Constitution,' Patra added. The BJP leader alleged that Gandhi, who is also the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, has been speaking in a 'threatening tone since the beginning' and has not 'spared anybody'. 'With one hand in pocket, he always speaks in a threatening tone. Just like in Hindi movies, where the villain always keeps one hand in pocket and says things like 'I will explode, I will hit you', he also keeps doing the same,' the BJP leader charged. 'This is not right. This doesn't suit a leader in a democracy, especially when you are the Leader of Opposition,' he said, adding, 'It does not suit Rahul Gandhi to explode like a bomb. You should flow like cool water. Don't explode like a bomb.' PTI PK PK RUK RUK This report is auto-generated from PTI news service. ThePrint holds no responsibility for its content.
