Synchronoss Secures EU-US Data Privacy Framework Certification, Bolstering Global Cloud Compliance
KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (Bernama) -- Synchronoss Technologies Inc (Synchronoss), a global leader and innovator in personal cloud platforms for telecoms, announced it has achieved certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF), a move that underscores its commitment to international data protection standards.
The DPF, administered by the United States (US) Department of Commerce, is a transatlantic data transfer mechanism that enables certified US-based companies to legally receive and process personal data from the European Union (EU) in compliance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
According to Synchronoss in a statement, the framework provides robust safeguards, enforcement mechanisms, and redress options to ensure personal data remains protected when transferred outside the EU.
The certification enhances its global compliance capabilities and further affirms its position as a trusted partner of secure, white-label cloud solutions to Tier 1 telecom operators worldwide.
'Privacy and data protection are at the heart of our mission. Achieving this certification reinforces our pledge to deliver secure, scalable, and user-centric cloud services that meet global trust standards,' said Synchronoss President and Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Miller.
Meanwhile, its Chief Privacy Officer, Mark Denihan noted that the certification goes beyond legal compliance, reflecting the company's broader commitment to responsible data governance.
'For our European partners, the DPF assures that data transfers are conducted with integrity, transparency, and accountability,' he added.
The certification covers both human resources (HR) and non-HR data and adds to Synchronoss's broader compliance portfolio, which includes SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and validation through TRUST/e.
Synchronoss said this milestone supports its ongoing investment in privacy and data protection, aligning with rising regulatory expectations and customer demands in an increasingly data-driven global economy.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15 (Bernama) -- Twenty aspiring entrepreneurs graduated today from the CGC100 Youth Entrepreneurship Programme Fast Track Cohort Two, an initiative by Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd (CGC). Conducted in collaboration with PINTAR Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Education, the programme targets aspiring entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 23 from B40 and M40 communities. CGC chairman Datuk Mohammed Hussein said the initiative goes beyond equipping participants with basic business skills, focusing also on instilling values to build ethical, sustainable and resilient ventures. 'This six-month programme serves as a platform to teach fundamental business skills, but more importantly, it aims to instil values in running a business. 'Sustainable and resilient businesses can only be achieved through active participation, not just by owning shares,' he told reporters after the CGC100 Fast Track Cohort Two Graduation Ceremony and Fast Track Cohort Three Launching here today. Also present was CGC president and chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak. The CGC100 Youth Entrepreneurship Programme has so far produced 70 graduates, including from the 12-month Comprehensive Track programme, and created 61 new jobs, with 64 per cent of participants earning more than RM10,000 per month. The impact spans 20 industries, with 80 per cent of graduates successfully registering their businesses with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), and 71 per cent of financing applicants securing the full amount requested. The upcoming Fast Track Cohort Three, scheduled from August 2025 to February 2026, will enrol 30 participants in a seven-month curriculum covering business fundamentals, environmental, social, and governance (ESG), branding, the digital economy, financial literacy and pitching.

Years after Jane Birkin famously decorated her eponymous Hermès handbag with clusters of trinkets and strands of beads, bag charms have made a big comeback. Plush Labubu keychains helped revive the Gen Z-fuelled accessorise-your-accessory trend and catapulted it into the mainstream. Now charms are showing up on elite fashion runways and dangling from the purses of celebrities. Designer handbag makers, anxious for growth during a downturn, are especially eager to get in on the phenomenon. If affluent shoppers can't be persuaded to drop thousands of dollars on a new purse, perhaps they can be enticed to spend a few hundred dollars on a branded charm for a purse they already own. Although bag charms are booming, industry analysts caution that they can only bolster luxury brands to a point. Ultimately, charms "will make up a very small portion' in sales for premium fashion labels, said Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Deborah Aitken. "Enough to keep brands active in the minds of potential shoppers, but at very limited total value.' Louis Vuitton and Loewe declined to comment on their bag charm strategies or provide sales figures. Klevisa Hendrix, a 27-year-old content creator from Los Angeles, began buying bag charms this year after seeing them on the Coach runway and now has a dozen in her growing collection.
