Jana Sena Party to offer special prayers at six Shanmukha Temples for safety of armed forces
One MLA accompanied by a team of party workers will offer the prayers at Shanmukha (Subrahmanya) shrines in Tiruttani, Tiruchendur, Palani, Tirupparankundram, Swamimalai, and Pazhamudircholai. In addition, prayers will also be offered at the Kukke Subrahmanya and Ghati Subrahmanya temples in Karnataka, Mopidevi and Bikkavolu Subrahmanya temples in Andhra Pradesh, Sri Durga Malleswara temple on Indrakeeladri, and Sri Puruhutika Devi temple in Pithapuram. Special prayers will also be held at Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple in Arasavalli, Srikakulam district on Sunday.
The party also decided to conduct prayers at various temples across the state for the welfare of the army and the people in war-affected regions like Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Haryana.
JSP president and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Friday said as Operation Sindoor intensifies, every Indian national's moral support is vital. He requested the people to pray and seek strength and blessings for the armed forces, fighting the enemy on the borders, and our national leadership-led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The armed forces possess superior might and technological prowess capable of containing enemy forces and protecting the nation. Now, is the time for the whole country to unite and pray for their safety, he said.
He also encouraged people of other faiths to pray in their respective places of worship — Christians in churches and Muslims in mosques — for the nation and its protectors.

NEW DELHI: The Monsoon session of Parliament, the fifth one of the 18th Lok Sabha which saw unprecedented protests over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in poll-bound Bihar, came to a close on Thursday with the presiding officers of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha expressing anguish over the continuous and planned disruptions leading to the total washout. As both Houses were adjourned sine die on Thursday in what was one of the frostiest Monsoon sessions, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in his concluding address said that the public has great expectations from the representatives, and therefore, they should utilise their time in the House for serious and meaningful discussions on issues of public interest and important legislations. While the productivity of the Lok Sabha was pegged at 31%, the Rajya Sabha saw 39%. Out of total 120 hours, the Lok Sabha held discussions only for 37 hours. In the Rajya Sabha, discussions took place for 41 Hours 15 minutes only. The session was marked by continuous disruptions on SIR, the abrupt resignation of Jagdeep Dhanakhar from Vice-President post, an ugly scuffle between the NDA and INDIA members and the impeachment proceedings of High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma among others. The highlight of the session, a two-day special debate on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor saw high-voltage debates. Except for the 16-hour debate, the House failed to transact any business in the month-long session, which began July 21.

Advocate files police complaint against Rahul Mamkoottathil
KOCHI: Amid ongoing allegations against MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil, a formal complaint was filed against him at the Ernakulam central police station on Thursday evening. The complaint was filed by advocate Shinto Sebastian, who called for criminal proceedings against Rahul in the wake of alleged abortion claims through the media. Moreover, he also filed a complaint with the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights alleging that Rahul coerced a woman into undergoing an abortion. The complaint stated that a recently surfaced phone conversation between Rahul and the woman suggests he subjected her to both mental and physical abuse. It claims that multiple serious offences have been committed, falling under several grave sections of the law. The complainant highlighted that forcing someone to undergo an abortion is a punishable offence under Indian law and urged the authorities to register a case and initiate legal proceedings against the culprit. It was also stated that, given Rahul's political influence, he is likely to destroy crucial digital evidence. In response, Kochi city police stated that the complaint lacks clarity and that they are examining the legal aspects before proceeding further. 'We received a written complaint on Thursday evening. However, it lacks clarity, particularly because the woman involved has not filed any formal complaint so far,' said the SHO of Ernakulam Central police station.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the suspension on social media platform X, writing that the presence of foreign drivers was 'endangering American lives and undercutting the livelihoods of American truckers.' 'The increasing number of foreign drivers operating large tractor-trailer trucks on US roads is endangering American lives and undercutting the livelihoods of American truckers,' Rubio said. The decision followed the case of Harjinder Singh, a driver from India, who was charged with killing three people while making an illegal U-turn on a Florida highway. Federal officials said Singh had entered the country illegally from Mexico and failed an English test after the crash, according to news agency AFP. The case has now created a political spat between the Trump administration and California Governor Gavin Newsom, each accusing the other of responsibility. In June, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy issued a directive that truck drivers must speak English. Truck drivers are required to pass a test for a commercial license, which includes a test of the drivers are proficient in English on basic skills such as road signs. In the past couple of months, the US has taken steps to enforce the requirement that truckers speak and read English proficiently. The Transportation Department said the aim is to improve road safety following incidents in which drivers' inability to read signs or speak English may have contributed to traffic deaths.
