Lewis Capaldi tickets LIVE as general sale starts

Wales Online10-07-2025
Tickets for Lewis Capaldi's upcoming arena tour are on sale today — and the 'Someone You Loved' hitmaker is returning to Wales.
The singer's new UK and Ireland Arena Tour comes after the 28-year-old star took a two-year break from music to focus on his mental health. Lewis announced he was stepping back from the spotlight shortly after a difficult performance at Glastonbury in 2023, when his set was cut short due to the symptoms of Tourette syndrome.
Lewis returned to the stage in May, performing to home crowds in Scotland. Then, in June, he delighted fans with his new single 'Survive' and made a triumphant return to Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage.
The singer-songwriter told the crowd: "My name is Lewis Capaldi and I'm [expletive] back, baby." His emotional surprise set included hits like 'Hold Me While You Wait' and 'Someone You Loved.'
Now, music lovers don't have long to wait until his next shows. Lewis's tour kicks off in Sheffield on September 7, with dates planned for Aberdeen, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff, and Dublin.
Lewis is currently scheduled to play one show in Wales, bringing his tour to the Utilita Arena in Cardiff on Saturday, September 27. He previously performed in the city in 2023 and during his 2020 tour.
The general sale kicks off today (July 10) at 9am. Tickets are on sale from Ticketmaster here.

Lewis Capaldi reveals hilarious way he makes himself fall asleep at night

Lewis Capaldi has revealed his sleeping routine and the one bizarre thing that always sends him into a 'delightful' slumber. Lewis Capaldi has revealed his highly unconventional method of getting to sleep and it's with the help of one legendary US rapper. Speaking to Apple Music ahead of the launch of their new curated playlist series, Music That Soothes Me, the beloved Scots singer said he opts to listen to some old school rap by one particular music legend when his head touches the pillow at night. ‌ That artist is Eminem, known for his very fast paced rhymes and X-rated lyrics. The Someone You Loved singer explained: 'If I'm going to fall asleep, especially on a plane, I put on Eminem because I feel like it really puts me at ease. ‌ 'I listen to a lot of the older stuff like The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show – for some reason it lulls me into a delightful little sleep. Or I'll put on some of my own demos which also really knock me out.' ‌ Lewis, who recently made his comeback to the limelight, has opened up about his first time returning to the stage as he admitted that he thought he would never perform again, The Sun reports. The 28-year-old says he is no longer taking antidepressant Sertraline after successfully defeating his demons and getting his mental health back in check. ‌ However, Lewis said he has also learned to accept that he will always have some degree of anxiety. I'm not on antidepressants any more.' ‌ Referencing his new No1 single Survive, Lewis recently told fans during a live stream: 'It was f***ing hard to get off it. "You could say I've survived getting off Sertraline but let's not get into that. This is happy stuff. I'm trying to share less.' The Hold Me While You Wait singer made his return to music last month on Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage as the festival's surprise act. ‌ Lewis had previously stepped back from singing, cancelling all performances and taking a two year break, after his Glastonbury performance in 2023 saw him struggle so badly with his Tourette's and anxiety that the crowds had to finish his songs for him. Reflecting on his meltdown on stage in 2023 on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Lewis said: "The first time did not go well. I had what the children would refer to as a bit of a menty B. A bit of a mental breakdown on stage. Nothing too serious. "I have Tourettes so I used to tic quite a lot and I still do but I used to do this thing with my shoulder and it became really uncontrollable and I had a panic attack on stage at Glastonbury and I couldn't finish the song. "It happened a couple of times at shows and stuff but I think because this one was so publicised and had so many eyes on it, it really made me think I need to go and get this sorted, I can't keep doing this to myself." However, Lewis is now back with a bang. With a UK and worldwide tour on the way this year and a brand new No.1 single, Capaldi said that his iconic Glastonbury return was "probably the best day of my life."

Lewis Capaldi says drummer was in ‘floods of tears' at secret Glastonbury set

The 28-year-old performed a 35-minute surprise performance on the Pyramid stage, having taken a two-year break from performing after his last appearance at the Somerset festival, and revealed he had to leak his own secret set after he was worried people would not turn up. Capaldi said: 'I'm not great at keeping secrets, I wanted it to be a surprise, but we had to start leaking it out a couple of weeks before because it would have been strange to come out to an empty field. 'By that weekend it was the worst-kept secret. It was genuinely the best day of my life, I loved every moment of it. 'Almost immediately, I was overcome with emotion and I started to well up, so I was like, 'get it together', but then I turned around and looked at my drummer, and he was in floods of tears. 'It was weird, I knew it was going to be fine this time around. I had nerves and butterflies, but it wasn't the same as 2023 when I was so stressed and I knew something bad was going to happen. It was spectacular.' Capaldi was speaking as part of the launch of Apple Music's Music That Soothes Me series of curated playlists, with the singer himself putting together a track list including the likes of Fontaines DC, Lana Del Rey and The 1975. The series, which features music intended to help listeners relax and unwind, also features playlists curated by Renee Rapp and Bring Me The Horizon. Speaking about how he relaxes, the Scottish singer said: 'I use music in meditation a lot – ambient music, not what I usually listen to. But when I'm going to bed, I'll listen to a lot of green noise and rain noises, especially when I'm trying to get to sleep, to soothe me. 'Slowing down and being outside helps, I like meditation, and I also go to therapy, which has really helped me with stress. 'I'm not someone who enjoys going for long walks or spending a ton of time outside, but I force myself to do it these days because the effect it has on my mood and my stress levels is just mind-blowing. 'I think for a long time I was either working or going to the pub, and these days I spend a lot more time with friends in a way that isn't just going out. 'Doing wholesome things with friends is always a nice change. Get outside, go to therapy, do some meditation and hang out with people.' The singer says he plays the 'older' work of rapper Eminem and his own demos to relax, joking that the latter 'really knocks me out'. Capaldi recently said he had the 'most incredible, surreal feeling' after his 17-date UK and Ireland comeback tour sold out. During the 2025 Glastonbury show, Capaldi performed his new track Survive, which has since gone to number one on the singles chart, and ended his performance with Someone You Loved, the track that Glastonbury crowds helped him to sing when he struggled with his Tourette symptoms in 2023. Tourette syndrome causes sudden, repetitive sounds or movements and while there is no cure, treatment can help manage the tics, according to the NHS website. Prior to the festival slot, the Glaswegian star performed a number of secret gigs and guest appearances, saying in an interview with online therapy platform BetterHelp that he felt a 'rush of adrenaline' before managing to calm himself before his first warm-up gig in Edinburgh. Capaldi has had six UK number one singles, including Before You Go, Pointless and Wish You The Best. He has also seen both of his studio albums reach number one in the UK albums chart.

Trump breaks out Sean Connery impression as he oversees made-for-TV spectacle at new Scottish golf course

President Donald Trump cut the ribbon on his new Scottish golf course – organizing a spectacle that included bagpipes, fireworks, and hitting a long drive into the first fairway before the national media. He also rolled out a bit of a Sean Connery impression, as he revisited a claim that the late 007 was instrumental in bringing his course to reality. 'I just want to thank everybody. This has been an unbelievable development. The land, they said, couldn't get zoned, it was an impossibility,' said Trump. 'And Sean Connery said: "Let the bloody bloke build his golf course,"' he said, impersonating the beloved actor. 'Once he said that, everything came into line,' said Trump, adopting some of the local lingo. A 2008 report had a more Connery expressing support for the benefits of the course, but in less insistent language, with the acting legend saying it gave a 'vote of confidence' to local tourism. Local officials later disputed Trump's claim that Connery pushed through approval. The president marched toward the first tee accompanied by a bagpipe band for the remarks on the fourth day of his trip to Scotland – just the latest display of pageantry and Trump's third performance of the trip. His team kept a crowd that included retired golf pros and soccer players waiting while the president warmed up his swing on a driving range in preparation for a ceremonial fires drive before onlookers. Before that, trump gave uncharacteristically brief remarks to dignitaries, mentioning his intervention into a border clash between Thailand and Cambodia and prospects for new trade talks with the U.S. 'I look forward to playing it today. We'll play it very quickly, and then I go back to DC and we put out fires all over the world,' Trump said. 'We did one yesterday, as you know, we stopped a war. But we stopped about five wars. So that's much more important than playing golf, as much as I like it,' Trump said, on a trip where he announced he was moving up a deadline for Russia to end its war on Ukraine or face secondary tariffs. Trump, whose foursome included son Eric and two golf pros, was the first person to ever play the course, which had been built over a period years by a team that included three architects, engineers, and groundskeepers. The new course's branding logo is 'the greatest 36 holes of golf,' after the combined two links courses on the North Sea. The new course features holes that meander through natural dunes, marshes, and agricultural areas. Every hole has a sea view, and all feature vistas of the Scottish countryside. According to Trump International Scotland, it also features 'the world's largest natural bunker' – a claim that is tough to verify and that one insider indicated might be more impressionistic. A crowd of VIPs up front included U.S. ambassador to the UK Warren Stephens, Lord Aberdeen, and sports figures including Liverpool star Robby Fowler, who once famously appeared to hit back at rival fans by pretending to snort cocaine off a soccer pitch line. A sound system drew from the Trump rally playlist with songs like 'Surfin' USA and Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' while the crowd waited. 'Not exactly A-listers,' quipped one crowd member about the collection of names. Trump had a chance to hold the record for the course, if briefly. He is the first person to play it in its entirety – although he assembled a talented foursome. Among them was Trump's son Eric, who helped oversee the project to 'to shape the dunes and build something that's truly, truly exceptional,' as he described it. There was a long saga to build the course, which required Trump to overcome local property owners and environmental opposition before he was president. He referenced it at the top of his remarks. 'Welcome. If you remember at the beginning, it wasn't quite a welcome. But it wasn't bad. But with time they've liked us more and more. And now they love us, and we love them,' as Trump told it. Trump's trip has been filled with branding opportunities, as world leaders came to his Turnberry course to tout its beauty. But describing the new course – technically named for his mother and her MacLeod clan – the president opted for simplicity. 'We have the first course, which we call the old course, and the second course, which we call the new course, because that's the best way to describe. Anything else gets too complicated. [Otherwise] they don't know which is which … and it's going to be something very special,' he said. A large billboard outside the course says 'tickets for sale now' for the upcoming Nexo championship event. The White House has brushed off ethics groups pointing to using the office to promote a private business, and have called the five-day trip a 'working visit.' The president may have been poking at environmental regulations when he talked about the course, with hulking offshore wind turbines – Trump's green energy nightmare – in the distance. 'So I just guess we're going to be hitting a couple of balls and we're going to play the round. .. These are very hard to build. And you won't see them built anymore. You'll probably never see another course built in the dunes, not dunes like this,' he said. The president was wistful at times, even mustering kind words for the press – which may have been a hint that the media pac included local and sports journalists. 'And thank you to the media, the media's been terrific, believe it or not. I didn't use the word fake news one time – not one time today. They're not fake news today. They're wonderful news,' said Trump. His brief speech was followed by a ribbon cutting with golden scissors. Some aides had trimmed it slightly shorter before Trump arrived to give it the correct length. That was followed by a brief display of red, white and blue fireworks. Then Trump hit a drive before the crowd – hitting his shot an ample distance in the center of the fairway. Eric's shot went straight, too, who with less arc. Pro golfers Rich Beem, a 2002 PGA winner, and Paul McGinley, an Irish Ryder Cup hero, appeared to hit their first shots longer, winning applause. A pair of reporters tried to get Trump talking, after he went on for more than an hour Monday at Turnberry, addressing Russia, trade, and the Jeffrey Epstein controversy. When one asked Trump for his Middle East plan, there was grumbling from the crowd at the topic, or at least the timing.
