East Hants man charged with kidnapping after child grabbed
An abduction was reported to the police at 3:20 p.m. AT on Mosher Road, according to an RCMP news release.
The RCMP said two children were riding their bicycles when a man standing at the end of a driveway flagged them down.
The man, who police said did not know the children, allegedly grabbed one of the kids by the arm, entered a nearby home with the child, exposed himself and uttered threats.
The child screamed and ran out of the home to get help.
The two children were not physically injured, police said. Their ages were not released.
A 34-year-old man from Admiral Rock has been charged with kidnapping, invitation to sexual touching, assault, uttering threats and indecent act (exposure).
Admiral Rock is a small community about 40 kilometres southwest of Truro.

Ont. man charged with impaired driving on electric skateboard

(OneWheel) A 36-year-old northwestern Ontario man is facing criminal charges after Ontario Provincial Police stopped him for allegedly operating an electric skateboard while impaired. The incident occurred Friday evening at about 10 p.m., according to police, when officers 'engaged a male operating a OneWheel electric skateboard' in the community of Balmertown. According to an OPP news release, police 'conducted a traffic stop on an erratic driver' and subsequently began an impaired driving investigation. The local man now faces two operation while impaired charges under the Criminal Code – including having a blood alcohol concentration of more than 80. Additionally, as a result, the accused's driver's licence was suspended for 90 days. The skateboarder is scheduled to appear in court in Red Lake on Sept.18 to answer to the charges. In the release, OPP reiterated to the public a reminder to 'never drive impaired.' Report impaired drivers Ontario Provincial Police are urging the public to report suspected impaired drivers. Pedestrian struck, killed by train in Langley, B.C.
Langley RCMP say the driver of a stolen semi-truck has been arrested after a kilometres-long police chase that ended with the vehicle being driven into the Fraser River. THE CANADIAN PRESS/Jason Franson Mounties are investigating after one person was struck and killed by a train Tuesday evening in Langley, B.C. Police, paramedics and firefighters responded to the scene near Crush Crescent and Glover Road at approximately 10:15 p.m., according to a statement from the Langley RCMP. ADVERTISEMENT 'Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene,' said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, in the statement Wednesday. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the fatal pedestrian collision to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
