Cabin crew suspended after passenger makes shock discovery on flight

Daily Mirror3 days ago

Michael Tjendara, from Australia, has accused flight staff from Garuda Indonesia of stealing his phone. It comes after he tracked the lost device and spotted that it had been dumped in a river
A group of cabin crew staff have been suspended after a passenger made a shocking discovery following the flight.
Michael Tjendara was heading from Jakarta, Indonesia, to Melbourne on Garuda Indonesia on June 6, when his phone was stolen. The passenger claimed that he had put the mobile in the backseat pocket before he swapped seats on flight GA716 on June 6. He later returned to his old seat and realised the phone had vanished.

After the flight, he managed to track the tech via Find My iPhone and got on the trail of what had happened to his device. Mr Tjendera shared screenshots documenting the development on Instagram. The screenshots traced his phone to a destination close to the Southbank Promenade in Melbourne, Australia.

He claimed that the phone had been dumped near the Mercure Hotel, where the entire cabin crew were thought to be staying. His phone's signal was last picked up between 3.50pm and 4.40pm before it seemed to move towards a bridge. Lastly, the device was tracked and appeared to have been dropped into the Yarra River. In response to his bizarre discovery, the passenger pleaded with local businesses to share their CCTV footage so he could find the culprit. His social media posts gained traction across Indonesia, reports Mail Online.
On Instagram, he said: "This isn't just about a phone − it's about the safety of all passengers in the future. Please help tag and share this story so the right people see it." On June 9, Garuda Indonesia's Director of Commercial and Cargo, Ade R. Susardi, revealed that the crew are at the spotlight of the investigation. He confirmed that the crew who were on duty at the time have since been suspended following the tracking allegation.
He told Indonesia Business Post: "We are in continuous communication with the concerned passenger and remain committed to supporting him throughout the follow-up process. We can confirm that upon receiving the report, all cabin crew had followed standard operating and safety procedures, including promptly coordinating with airport authorities to initiate a search."

Emmerdale 'lets slip' who's targeting Joe Tate - but it isn't Billy

Emmerdale's Joe Tate is suspicious that love rival Billy Fletcher is out to get him in a revenge storyline after realising someone was targeting him on the ITV soap There was a new mystery unfolding on Emmerdale this week, with Joe Tate the target of some worrying behaviour. The character has created multiple enemies of recent, resulting in him being shoved out of a window at Home Farm. While it was fling and now partner Dawn Taylor who confessed to the crime, plenty of other people wanted him dead. ‌ While that storyline has died down now and Joe has recovered, it seems someone else is wanting payback. Joe was left furious to find his car had been keyed this week, and then on Wednesday night there was more signs that someone was out to get him. ‌ Joe realised someone had been in his room while he was out, noticing his medication had been taken. He confided in Sam Dingle about it, and revealed that someone had moved things around, taken things that he needed, and had even opened the window. He immediately suspected Billy was to blame, but Sam was adamant he wouldn't have done it. Sam did advise him to have it out with his love rival though to put a stop to the drama. Things didn't go well though and Joe, sending accusations Billy's way, was confronted by both him and Kerry Wyatt. Not getting the desired reaction Joe took action, meeting up with his accomplice Shaun and telling him he wanted Billy to be taught a lesson. So is Billy in serious danger? Either way, fans are convinced that Billy isn't lying and is actually innocent. So if not Billy, then who is targeting Joe and why? Viewers are suspicious of two characters in particular, both of whom blame Joe for the deaths of three characters including someone close to them. Joe caused the drugging of his brother Noah Dingle, leading to him wandering out into the road on the night of the limo crash. ‌ As driver Charity Dingle swerved to avoid hitting her son Noah, she crashed onto an icy lake. The accident caused the deaths of Leyla Harding, Suzy Merton and Amy Wyatt. At the recent party where Joe was exposed for what happened that night, Amy's mother Kerry made it clear she wanted payback. Amy's husband Matty Barton was also distraught and wanted Joe to face up to his actions. So with both of them wanting Joe to pay, could it be one or both of them who are out to get him? Viewers certainly think this could be the case, naming these two characters as the likely culprits. One fan posted on social media: "So the person who is haunting Joe is either Kerry or Matty." Another viewer agreed with the theory, saying: "I think Kerry or Matty or someone from the party still wanting revenge." Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Threads.

'Liver King' influencer arrested in Texas after threatening Joe Rogan

A social media fitness influencer known as the "Liver King" was arrested on Tuesday after posting threatening messages directed to popular podcaster Joe Rogan on social media, according to police. The Austin Police Department said in a statement that they arrested Brian Johnson after learning that he was traveling to Austin, where Rogan lives, and threatening the highly influential podcaster in a series of videos he posted to Instagram. "Joe Rogan, I'm calling you out, my name's Liver King. Man to man, I'm picking a fight with you," Johnson said in a video he posted on Monday. "I have no training in jiu-jitsu, you're a black belt, you should dismantle me. But I'm picking a fight with you. Your rules, I'll come to you, whenever you're ready." In another video he posted that day, he similarly challenged Rogan to fight "man to man." "You never come across something like this, willing to die, hoping that you'll choke me out because that's a dream come true," Johnson said. Police said they contacted Rogan on Tuesday, who told them that he never previously interacted with Johnson and considered the posts to be threatening. Later that day, Johnson was apprehended at the Four Seasons Hotel and charged with terroristic threat, a class B misdemeanor, police said. Representatives for Johnson and Rogan did not immediately return requests for comment. The "Liver King's" videos promote what he describes as the "ancestral lifestyle," which includes consuming large amounts of raw meat and animal organs, particularly animal liver. His dietary techniques have been criticized by nutritionists for spreading misinformation. Johnson has never been a guest of Rogan's highly successful podcast. However, Johnson and his alleged steroid use — which Johnson initially denied and then later apologized for — were the subject of one of Rogan's podcast episodes in 2023, which has more than 8.7 million views on YouTube. A video showing Johnson being handcuffed and put into a police vehicle was posted to his Instagram account — which has more than 3 million followers — on Tuesday.

Scots prison rapper films bizarre music videos from jail cell

Several clips have been uploaded to an Instagram account in recent days of an inmate at a Scots prison in a black balaclava rapping. Bizarre footage has been posted online of a masked Edinburgh prisoner being filmed rapping in his cell. Over the past few days, several clips have been uploaded to an Instagram account of an inmate at HMP Edinburgh in a black balaclava wearing blue gloves as another prisoner films him. ‌ In a second video, the individual, dressed in grey, is joined by a second lag as they rap the lyrics of a drill song, reports Edinburgh Live. ‌ In the background a white cell door with writing on it is visible as smoke or vapour can also be seen in the air coming from an unknown item the prisoner is holding while rapping. One of the videos is captioned: " HMP freestyle - graveyard shift," as the second prisoner can be seen making gun signs with his hands. The videos, which have been uploaded as reels on Instagram, have received 100 likes each and attracted comments from over a dozen other accounts. After being approached for comment The Scottish Prison Service confirmed staff work hard to deter illicit articles being brought into prison and work tirelessly to prevent items being smuggled behind bars. An SPS spokesperson said: 'We do not comment on individuals. 'Our staff work extremely hard to tackle the introduction of illicit articles and prevent the harm they cause, and we are continuously working to reduce their availability and supply across the prison estate.' Last week, in a separate incident, we reported that two inmates at a Scots prison teamed up to launch a brutal attack on another prisoner, who was left with serious injuries. ‌ Daniel Brown, 25, and Jed Duncan, 29, targeted Alan McDonald at HMP Addiewell in West Lothian on September 29, 2023. The pair repeatedly kicked and stamped on him, as well as stabbing him several times with a homemade weapon. They appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh on Thursday June 12 to be sentenced over the frenzied attack. ‌ Both were convicted of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, permanent impairment and danger to life. Both were said to be aggressive towards a prison officer afterwards, approaching him while Duncan was still holding the blade, resulting in a further conviction of threatening or abusive behaviour for both of them. ‌ Duncan was also convicted of possessing a bladed article and defeating the ends of justice by attempting to dispose of the weapon. The duo seized McDonald and pulled him by his hair before repeatedly launching kicks at his head and body. They then dragged him to the floor and stamped on his head several times, before stabbing him in the head and neck with the homemade weapon. Brown received a six-year prison sentence, with the court ordering the term to run consecutively to the time he is already serving. He also received a non-harassment order for an indefinite period.
