Gay Barbie doll designers and life partners killed in a car crash
According to an Italian publication, the older man, Egidio Ceriano, and the passenger in the couple's car died. The Daily Beast also reported that Ceriano renewed his license in 2023 and was driving on the wrong side of the road for a little over four miles.
The couple owned a company called Magnia2000, where they'd create tribute dolls to famous icons like Cher, Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga, and Sarah Jessica Parker. They worked with Mattel on different creative projects, in addition to their Madonna doll that raised money for charity. Paglino and Grossi's dolls were a part of a 2008 Vogue issue titled "The Black Barbie."
Mattel released an official statement via its Instagram, expressing its sadness over the couple's passing. "The Barbie team is heartbroken by the loss of Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, two treasured creators and Mattel collaborators who brought joy and artistry to the world of Barbie as Magnia2000,' the company wrote. "As passionate and talented designers and lifelong collectors, their spirit and love for the brand turned every creation they touched into a masterpiece."
The statement continues on a second slide, "Their generosity was boundless, creating countless dolls to be auctioned to benefit charities close to fellow collectors' hearts. Barbie is better because they loved the brand, and our beloved collector community is richer for having known them and sharing their passion. Barbie honors their memory with deep gratitude."

Before we get to today's NYT Mini crossword hints, clues and answers, here are Wednesday's: Wondering what a Smiling Face with Sunglasses might be? Not sure what Nebraska city is home to Union Pacific's headquarters? Don't worry, because I'm here to help you with extra hints and the answers for today's NYT Mini crossword. The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper's larger and long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays. Unlike its larger sibling, the NYT Mini crossword is free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you'll need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives. Here are extra hints and the official NYT Mini Crossword clues and answers for Thursday, August 7: Spoilers lie ahead, so remember to scroll slowly: NYT Mini Crossword Hints 1 Across: Alice Sebold novel The Lovely ____ 6 Across: Pictograms for iMessage 7 Across: It holds a canvas for an artist 8 Across: A defensive hockey move into the boards 9 Across: Rash, like many bad decisions 1 Down: Tree that sounds like a sandy stretch 2 Down: Version of Texas Hold'em that shares a name with a city 3 Down: Smell detectors 4 Down: VCR button that spits out a VHS 5 Down: Like fancy sheets NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers 1 Across: Parts of a museum dinosaur exhibit – BONES 6 Across: Smiling Face with Sunglasses, for one – EMOJI 7 Across: Painter's stand – EASEL 8 Across: Restaurant item often asked for by signing the air – CHECK 9 Across: Overly slapdash – HASTY NYT Mini Down Answers 1 Down: Tree with smooth gray bark – BEECH 2 Down: Nebraska city that's home to Union Pacific headquarters – OMAHA 3 Down: Features of bloodhounds that are said to be 1,000 times stronger than humans – NOSES 4 Down: Boot from a game – EJECT 5 Down: ___ smooth – SILKY It took me 0:16 to complete today's NYT Mini. Whoa, that was a fast solve! I very almost got all of the Across words without a problem, but I had to glance at the 1 Down clue and completed letters to figure out that word ended in an 'H.' That allowed me to get the word HASTY for, appropriately enough, a speedy completion. See you tomorrow for more NYT Mini fun! Make sure to follow my blog for more coverage of the NYT Mini and other word games, as well as video game news, insights and analysis. It helps me out a lot! A set of mushroom bookmarks that'll both save your spot in your book while also making you feel like you've finally achieved your cottagecore dreams. I can totally see using these in a big ol' science textbook during the school year to mark off different chapters with whimsical flair. A box of flash-frozen coffee pods you can use to whip up a delicious caffeinated bev faster than you can say "I need coffee." Plus, the coffee itself is made from recognizable bean brands you likely already love, like Counter Culture, Onyx, and Joe Coffee! A set of Disney Princess–themed playing cards to bring some magic to your daily game of Solitaire. The best part? And a Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse pumpkin throw pillow that'll look so gourd-geous on your couch, your partner won't even care when you display them in the midst of summer instead of holding out until the *Ber* months.

Real Housewives of New York alum Carole Radziwill made a shock Bravo return. She joined former friend turned enemy Andy Cohen in the clubhouse for Watch What Happens Live. It was a long time coming. And from their vibe on WWHL, it looks like their friendship is back on track. Who does Carole Radziwill keep in touch with from The Real Housewives of New York City? During her clubhouse return, Andy asked Carole about her former co-stars. 'Carole, who do you … who are you still in touch with from RHONY?' he asked. 'Dorinda [Medley] and I share a really good friend, so I do see her occasionally. But she's very busy doing her other shows. I have some tea about The Traitors, but I can't say,' Carole stated. 'And umm, actually Heather [Thomson] moved to the Berkshires, but she comes to the city, and I see her, you know, very occasionally. A couple times a year.' Carole continued, 'And then other than that, I mean, I haven't seen anyone else in eight years. Although I recently randomly bumped into Ramona [Singer] and Luann [de Lesseps] at the same party. And I had to, like, look around because I'm like, 'There's definitely cameras here,'' she added. 'Like there should have been.' When Andy asked what it was like talking to them, Carole explained her emotions. 'So, I like see them and it's sort of like 'Aww,' you know? And I don't remember. Did we hate each other? Did we not?' Carole explained. 'But Ramona was Ramona …' Then Carole launched into a spot-on Ramona impression. As for Luann? Carole hugged her former co-star. 'It's like I'm on the show again,' Carole stated. 'Like we just fall right into it.' The Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland. TELL US – ARE YOU SURPRISED THAT CAROLE WAS ON WWHL?
