A woman on a solo holiday in Japan was horrified to find a man hiding under her hotel bed.
Natalisi Taksisi said she booked the trip because she thought Japan was 'a very safe country', but despite this the intruder was able to gain access to her room.
Even more sinister, authorities found a power bank and USB cable under the bed – and she says she hasn't been offered any compensation from the hotel after the scary experience.
On the second day of her trip Natalisi, who lives in Thailand, returned to her hotel room after a day of sightseeing.
She had paid £449 for three nights in the hotel, and said it 'looked legit'.
'After a day of sightseeing, I came back around 7.30pm, unlocked my room like usual, took off my clothes, and lay down on the bed,' Natalisi said.
'Then I noticed a weird smell.
'At first I thought it was coming from my hair or the bed sheets, but then I realised it was coming from under the bed.
'When I leaned over to check, I saw a pair of eyes staring at me.
'I saw a man under my bed, and I started to scream and jumped to my feet.
'The man climbed out from under the bed and stared at me for three seconds.
'Those seconds felt like my life was over.'
Natalisi immediately called for help and hotel staff called the police – but she says hotel staff told her it would be a struggle to identify the intruder as there are no CCTV cameras inside the building.
Despite moving to a new hotel that same night, she remained 'constantly on edge' throughout the rest of her trip.
'I kept asking the hotel, 'How did it happen?', and they didn't have any answer for me,' Natalisi said.
'Feeling scared and unsafe, I moved to another hotel and demanded a full refund. More Trending
'The next days of my trip were a nightmare.
'I couldn't sleep, and I was constantly on edge, checking every corner of my room.
'I'm left wondering how someone could get into my room, how someone knew that I was alone in my room.
'And how can the hotel not take responsibility for such a severe breach of safety?'

Moment light aircraft crashes into Sydney golf course

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Dramatic footage showed the moment a light aircraft crash-landed onto a golf course in Sydney. Both the pilot and the one passenger on board miraculously survived the crash at the Mona Vale Golf Course on the Northern Beaches on Sunday. The Piper Cherokee was captured flopping towards the ground during an emergency landing, sending parts of the aircraft flying as it hit the green at around 2pm local time. Onlookers rushed to check the status of the instructor and student on board, who were both able to escape the wreckage relatively unharmed. Both men, thought to be in their 50s, had minor injuries and were treated on the scene by paramedics. Flight records show the plane had left Camden and was destined for Wollangong before making the sudden landing. Pictures of the crashed jet show its starboard or right wing severely damaged, while the landing gear appeared to have come off. Keanu Turnewitsch was enjoying a round of golf with his friend when he saw a 'nice big shadow' cast over the green, before hearing a crunching sound. He told ABC news: 'All the ambulances and everything started coming past and sirens for 20, 30 minutes.' Another witness said the aircraft 'just fell from the sky', adding: 'It was crazy, we literally just heard this noise, and then all of a sudden it went bang.' It comes after a light aircraft was found crashed in a field in Staffordshire. More Trending The plane, with a broken a wing and tail was discovered in Cotes Heath near Stone on August 8. No injuries had been reported, with the plane having made an emergency landing. A spokesperson for the Air Accidents Investigation Branch said: 'An accident involving a light aircraft was reported to the AAIB on 8 August. Moment ‘one of worst drivers ever' sends two cars flying in high-speed chase

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A man described as one of the worst drivers ever seen collided with two vehicles as he led police on a high-speed pursuit. Officers needed to reach speeds of more than 100mph to catch up with Marlon Henriques after he failed to stop in Wiltshire. Henriques, driving a Volkswagen Arteon taken from a housemate, was seen overtaking two vehicles on solid white lines after police attempted to pull him over for driving at 56mph in a 30mph zone in Bulford. After officers turned on their lights and sirens, he overtook a vehicle on the brow of a hill and nearly collided with an oncoming Army truck. Henriques performed several more dangerous overtakes in an effort to escape as he approached his home town of Tidworth. He then drove at around 85mph in a 30mph zone, going through a red light on Pennings Road towards the A338. Having driven around the Sidbury Circular Road, he joined the A338 by mounting a pavement to drive round a vehicle waiting at the junction. Henriques, 30, then veered onto a dirt road on Salisbury Plain before exiting back onto a road. He then travelled back towards Tidworth before the pursuit ended when a stinger device punctured two of the car's nearside tyres. Henriques then collided with the rear of a white Citroen panel van, flipping it into the roadside, before hitting the back of an unmarked armed police response vehicle that was ahead of the pursuit. Officers in the car can be heard saying 'it's going to hit us' before leaping out and shouting 'get out now!' at the suspect. He was detained and arrested before being charged with aggravated taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance, and remanded in custody. The defendant pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 22 months' imprisonment at Salisbury Crown Court on Thursday. He was also disqualified from driving for four years and 11 months. After the sentencing, roads policing officer PC Webster said: 'Henriques' driving is some of the worst I have seen. More Trending 'He put numerous lives in danger through his speeding and reckless overtaking, regularly driving through red lights and the wrong way around roundabouts. 'Stopping him involved excellent collaborative work between the Roads Policing Unit, neighbourhood and response officers, and I'm pleased he has now been sentenced. 'This incident took place during the middle of the day, and I want to thank all members of the public for their assistance and patience when dealing with this matter.' Police helicopter swoops scarily close to ground in motorbike chase

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A police helicopter swept perilously close to the ground while pursuing a motorbike in Merseyside. Footage of the chase showed the low-flying helicopter speeding towards a motorbike less than a metre above the road. The hour-long pursuit was a 'legitimate policing task in support of public safety', the National Police Air Service (NPAS) said. A man was later arrested for dangerous driving, taking a vehicle without consent, driving while disqualified, failing to stop, driving without insurance, and conspiring to cause a public nuisance. Officers arrested a second suspect for theft of a motor vehicle and assisting an offender. NPAS Chief Operating Officer Chief Supt Fiona Gaffney said the short clip did not provide full context of Wednesday's operation. She said: 'At around 2.30pm, our air crew was deployed to assist Merseyside Police after reports of a man riding a scrambler bike dangerously near Carr Mill Dam. 'The rider mounted pavements, sped through residential areas, and narrowly missed a pedestrian. 'A second male later joined him on the bike and together they continued to evade police, travelling across roads and fields. 'Our crew tracked the motorcyclist for over an hour, providing continuous updates to ground officers.' Chief Supt Gaffney explained that the crew had been attempting to land in a safe location, but decided to abort the landing after the suspect continued to flee, and accelerated in 'an accepted take-off manoeuvre'. More Trending After internally reviewing the aircraft footage, radio logs, and its operational decision-making, NPAS said it was satisfied that the crew had acted appropriately, carried out a dynamic risk assessment, and operated within all regulations. It said in a statement: 'The fast-paced and unpredictable nature of vehicle pursuits can require crews to make rapid decisions to ensure public safety. 'We have robust procedures in place to support these decisions and safety remains our highest priority. 'We continue to work closely with the Civil Aviation Authority to ensure all relevant standards and procedures are upheld. We thank the public for their concern and engagement and we remain committed to transparency and professionalism in all our operations.'
