Episode 8
Episode 8 of The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 begins with the Dama holding Maggie captive. Cue the big evil monologue as Dama confesses that she is using them all to create a better world. But since Negan failed her, she wants Maggie to kill him and take his place as the leader.
She points out that Maggie can get Hershel back and set herself free after killing Negan. Hershel too promises her that killing Negan will help them start over. Maggie finally agrees.
Was Benjamin ever loyal to Negan?
Negan sits by Ginny's side but she doesn't get better. Despite Bruegel's ambush, Benjamin refuses to leave as he doesn't have anywhere to go. He promises to be by Negan's side. But when Negan confronts Bruegel, Benjamin hangs out on the roof with a Burazi guard.
The guard sees through his cowardice and how he only cares about staying alive. Suddenly, several boats pop up. A New Babylon sheriff arrives and kills the guard. To save himself, Benjamin states that he is with New Babylon. In the end, he even leads them all to the methane supply.
How does Bruegel's ambush end?
Perlie learns that Bruegel sent Ginny to kill Negan. He rants about putting her in danger and unknowingly reveals that Ginny and Negan care for each other. He is further upset on learning that Bruegel has no qualms in using her to control Negan.
However, he still joins the ambush, but in disguise. Negan is one step ahead as he traps the Silk Stockings, sets the church on fire and sends walkers after them.
He is furious when he spots Perlie helping Bruegel and his men get the upper hand. Bruegel gets a flamethrower and goes after Negan. He reaches the dungeons and finds Ginny's cell. Before he can kill her, Perlie stops him. The two men scuffle till Negan and some Burazis corner them.
Maggie reaches the same time and hides as Bruegel once again tries to ally with Negan. He spins a story that Perlie is using them and Ginny. Negan has had enough. He makes the men kneel and plays his eeny, meeny, miney, mo game. While Perlie and Bruegel are confused, Maggie gets PTSD as Negan had killed Glenn the same way.
Perlie loses but Negan kills Bruegel first. Perlie uses this chance to run. As Negan goes after him, Maggie kills the Burazi guards. Perlie tries to explain that he cares for Ginny but Negan doesn't buy it. He is about to kill Perlie when Maggie stabs him in the back. Negan crawls towards Ginny while Maggie goes after him with Lucille 2.0.
Why doesn't Maggie kill Negan?
The trio stops in shock on seeing that Ginny has died and turned into a walker. Maggie gives a knife to a crying Negan who kills Walker Ginny.
Maggie and Perlie then take him to an abandoned apartment and fix his wound. Negan is upset that while trying to protect Ginny, he failed her. She died alone, just like Lucille.
Having made up her mind, Maggie goes to Hershel who is upset that she didn't kill Negan. She insists that killing is not the way forward. But unlike before, she promises to be there for him but he doesn't trust her anymore. He decides to leave her and rebuild the island alone with Dama. She understands his anger and promises to wait for him regardless. In the end, Hershel is by Dama's side as she angrily watches the New Babylon invasion.
How do Maggie, Negan and Perlie react to the invasion?
At the end of The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 8, Maggie, Negan and Perlie wonder what to do next. From the windows, they see tons of New Babylon soldiers arriving. Perlie tells them about Roksana's road not taken story. Negan and Maggie realise that they need to resolve their past together to move on. Which is neither New Babylon's old world nor the Dama's new world, but a better world.
The Episode Review
We were so close, Maggie! But we do understand where she is coming from. She stabs Negan and finally has the chance to kill him. But she doesn't feel any different; she doesn't feel better about it. She only does it to save Perlie and get back Hershel. It isn't revenge anymore since she has seen Negan's humanity over the last 2 seasons. He has redeemed himself.
But even though we are all fans of Negan now and don't want him dead, we do miss Glenn. And it was extremely satisfying watching Maggie go after him with Lucille 2.0. It also wraps up the will-they-won't-they revenge storyline between the duo since Maggie is finally free of her resentment towards Negan.
Season 2 Episode 8 also does a brilliant job of wrapping up Hershel's storyline. After two seasons of being given false promises and being let down by his mother, it is only understandable that he cannot trust her to have moved on from her obsession with Negan. It also makes it clear that his problem is not with Negan, it never has been. It is his mother's absence because of it. And now that he has found a replacement in Dama, it is time for his villain era.
All in all, the finale is crisp, tightly packed with action and emotional confrontations. However, the only letdown is Ginny's storyline which has been a disappointment this whole season. She had more depth in the previous season than in this one, where she could finally talk again. Instead of exploring her new complicated feelings for Negan, she is just a bystander with a few obligatory set-ups here and there. Doubt her death will move any viewers which is a shame, as she had a lot of potential.

And Just Like That... Sex and the City reboot will end with third season

And Just Like That..., the reboot of 90s and early noughties show Sex and the City, will come to a close after its third season, HBO has runner Michael Patrick King shared the news on Instagram, saying that as he wrote the last episode, "It became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop."Named after its heroine Carrie Bradshaw's catchphrase, the series followed its characters' lives, clothes and romances in New York in their 50s.A two-part finale is yet to air and King said he and Sarah-Jessica Parker, who plays Bradshaw, "held off announcing the news until now because we didn't want the word 'final' to overshadow the fun of watching the season". Parker, known as SJP, shared a poem and photo montage in honour of "this chapter complete" on Instagram. Her co-star Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York, posted "I am profoundly sad."The franchise, originally based on books by Candace Bushnell, has already been made into two films. But King clarified that, "The ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end," denying fans the hope of another spin-off. Viewership has progressively declined over the three seasons, according to Samba TV, a viewing data tracker. Its first episode saw 1.1 million US households tune in, with the latest generating less than half of that initial has plagued the reboot, in particular regarding its cast's diversification. Star of iconic 80s action blockbusters is unrecognizable in rare sighting... can you guess who he is?

An actor who starred in a string of iconic 1980s blockbusters was unrecognizable during a rare public sighting this week. At the peak of his fame, he was known for his collaborations with a director who went on to make two of the highest-grossing pictures of all time. In the 1990s, he acted alongside famous faces ranging from Charlie Sheen and Nicolas Cage to Angelina Jolie and Kurt Russell. He cut a distinguished figure when he surfaced in sweltering Los Angeles this Thursday - the day he celebrated his 69th birthday. The actor wore a casually stylish ensemble of a black t-shirt and matching jeans when he was glimpsed emerging from a supermarket. Can you guess who he is? He is none other than Michael Biehn, known to 1980s sci-fi fans as leading man Sgt. Kyle Reese in The Terminator and supporting character Cpl. Dwayne Hicks in Aliens. In The Terminator, Kyle Reese is a soldier in the resistance against a futuristic AI takeover, and enlists in a time-travel mission to stop Arnold Schwarzenegger's title character from murdering Linda Hamilton's Sarah Connor. Aliens saw Michael cast opposite Sigourney Weaver, as members of a space crew desperately trying to survive an onslaught by malign extraterrestrials. Both movies were helmed by James Cameron, who directed Michael again in the 1989 sci-fi thriller The Abyss, featuring him alongside Ed Harris. Michael also briefly appeared as Kyle in the director's cut of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, in a scene that was cut from the theatrical version. Born in Alabama in 1958, Michael landed his film debut with an uncredited bit part in the 1978 film Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. Three years later, he played his breakthrough part in the thriller The Fan, leading the film as murderous super-fan stalking a stage actress played by Lauren Bacall. After his sci-fi successes of the 1980s, Michael acted in the 1990s with Charlie Sheen in Navy SEALs, Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer in Tombstone, Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage in The Rock and Angelina Jolie in Mojave Moon. He cut a distinguished figure when he surfaced in sweltering Los Angeles this Thursday - the day he celebrated his 69th birthday However his career fizzled during that decade and he descended into a period of alcoholism that ended when he went on the wagon in 2008. Reflecting on his past work in a 2019 interview, he said: 'People always talk about me being an '80s star. I was not an '80s star. Bruce Willis was an '80s star. Tom Cruise was an '80s star. Schwarzenegger and Stallone. Mel Gibson. Those guys were making $20 million [a picture]. I never even got $1 million. I kind of liked it that way.' He noted: 'I have five boys and that was always important to me that I was going to be closer to them than I was to the movie business,' via The Hollywood Reporter. Michael welcomed his sons over the course of three marriages, the most recent of which is to actress Jennifer Blanc, whom he married in 2015 and is with to this day. 'The amount of movies Bruce Willis makes,' Michael said in 2019: 'I don't see how you can live a normal life where you see your kids all the time, you're taking them to school and baseball practice and you're coaching their teams. You're in their lives.' James Cameron observed: 'Maybe what held Michael back was that he didn't like playing the Hollywood game — schmoozing people and all that. For him it was all about the work. And also the path to stardom is capricious, and can turn on a single choice. Every time you take a part the road forks.' The director reflected: 'Major stardom passed him by, but that's not the point. He's done great work in many films over the years, and is well loved and respected for a few iconic characters. Who can forget Johnny Ringo in Tombstone?'
