GloRilla arrested on drug charges after burglars invade her Atlanta home

Express Tribune24-07-2025
Rapper GloRilla, real name Gloria Woods, was arrested on felony drug charges after police discovered marijuana during a burglary investigation at her Atlanta home. The incident occurred early Sunday morning while Woods was in Indianapolis to perform at the WNBA All-Star Game.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a burglary report around 1:30 a.m. and learned that three intruders had broken into Woods' residence. A family member present at the time fired a weapon at the suspects, who fled without injury. During the investigation, officers reportedly smelled marijuana and called in a drug task force.
After securing a warrant, authorities found a 'significant amount of marijuana' in plain sight inside the master bedroom closet. GloRilla turned herself in on Tuesday and was released the same day on a $22,260 bond. She now faces charges of marijuana possession and possession of a controlled substance.
In a statement on X, the rapper criticized the authorities' actions: 'Instead of focusing on finding the suspects, they focus on some cannabis … Long story short, my house gets home invaded and I'm the only one that gets arrested.'

Her attorneys, Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, described the situation as a 'disturbing window' into misplaced law enforcement priorities. They confirmed that valuable jewelry was stolen and emphasized that Woods' relatives were traumatized.
Despite an extensive search, no suspects have been apprehended. The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement confirming recovery of forensic evidence.
Sheriff Ron Freeman maintained that both the burglary and the drug discovery are being taken seriously, stating, 'We must uphold the law in all aspects of this case.'

Man charged with multiple offences after object thrown onto court during WNBA game

A man arrested after a sex toy was thrown onto the court during a Golden State Valkyries game against the Atlanta Dream has been charged with disorderly conduct, public indecency and criminal trespass. According to the police affidavit, Delbert Carver, aged 23, was taken into custody by College Park, Georgia police on Saturday at 7:42 p.m. and booked into Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro. He was released late Sunday after posting bond, which remains undisclosed. Court records show the case is currently listed as 'pending.' Carver allegedly told officers that he intended the act as a joke, hoping it would go viral. The WNBA declined to comment on the incident but released a statement emphasising safety in arenas. The league stated that any fan who throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected, banned for at least one year in compliance with WNBA Arena Security Standards, and subject to legal action by local authorities. The incident follows a similar disruption during a Chicago Sky game, when another sex toy was thrown onto the court in the third quarter. However, Chicago police confirmed no official report was filed in that case. Delbert Carver now faces significant legal repercussions related to the incident as the case moves toward resolution in Clayton County courts.

GloRilla turns mugshot into merch at ‘1st Annual Glo Bash' event

Rising Memphis rapper GloRilla has embraced controversy and turned it into a bold branding move. At tonight's long-awaited GloRilla & Friends: 1st Annual Glo Bash—held in her hometown of Memphis—she is selling T‑shirts featuring her own mugshot as part of the official merchandise lineup. The merch rollout comes just days after GloRilla (born Gloria Hallelujah Woods) was arrested on July 22 in Forsyth County, Georgia, on felony drug charges. Police responding to a burglary at her residence reportedly found a large amount of marijuana and a Schedule I controlled substance in plain view. Woods, who was in Indianapolis performing at the WNBA All‑Star Game at the time, turned herself in and was released on $22,260 bond. Despite the legal battle, the show has gone on. Authorities confirmed the concert at FedExForum would proceed as planned. Fans have described the mugshot T‑shirts as "iconic," applauding the rapper's ability to reclaim the narrative in real time. This isn't the first time GloRilla has leaned into bold self-expression. The Glorious tour, which wrapped in July and featured guest stars like Muni Long and Rob49, cemented her reputation for fearless personal branding. Now, by turning her most viral downside into concert merch, she continues to blur lines between controversy and empowerment. As she headlines her first annual 'Glo Bash,' fans will no doubt be watching closely—both for the show and the statement-making fashion.
