Man charged with multiple offences after object thrown onto court during WNBA game
According to the police affidavit, Delbert Carver, aged 23, was taken into custody by College Park, Georgia police on Saturday at 7:42 p.m. and booked into Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro.
He was released late Sunday after posting bond, which remains undisclosed. Court records show the case is currently listed as 'pending.' Carver allegedly told officers that he intended the act as a joke, hoping it would go viral.
The WNBA declined to comment on the incident but released a statement emphasising safety in arenas. The league stated that any fan who throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected, banned for at least one year in compliance with WNBA Arena Security Standards, and subject to legal action by local authorities.
The incident follows a similar disruption during a Chicago Sky game, when another sex toy was thrown onto the court in the third quarter. However, Chicago police confirmed no official report was filed in that case.
Delbert Carver now faces significant legal repercussions related to the incident as the case moves toward resolution in Clayton County courts.

GloRilla arrested on drug charges after burglars invade her Atlanta home
Rapper GloRilla, real name Gloria Woods, was arrested on felony drug charges after police discovered marijuana during a burglary investigation at her Atlanta home. The incident occurred early Sunday morning while Woods was in Indianapolis to perform at the WNBA All-Star Game. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a burglary report around 1:30 a.m. and learned that three intruders had broken into Woods' residence. A family member present at the time fired a weapon at the suspects, who fled without injury. During the investigation, officers reportedly smelled marijuana and called in a drug task force. After securing a warrant, authorities found a 'significant amount of marijuana' in plain sight inside the master bedroom closet. GloRilla turned herself in on Tuesday and was released the same day on a $22,260 bond. She now faces charges of marijuana possession and possession of a controlled substance. In a statement on X, the rapper criticized the authorities' actions: 'Instead of focusing on finding the suspects, they focus on some cannabis … Long story short, my house gets home invaded and I'm the only one that gets arrested.' CRAZY‼️ My House got Home Invaded Saturday While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA all star game & instead of Focusing on finding the Suspects , they focus on some cannabis 1. So no I wasn't busted 2. My house got robbed 3. I wasn't home Long story short my… — GloRilla 🦍 (@GloTheofficial) July 24, 2025 Her attorneys, Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, described the situation as a 'disturbing window' into misplaced law enforcement priorities. They confirmed that valuable jewelry was stolen and emphasized that Woods' relatives were traumatized. Despite an extensive search, no suspects have been apprehended. The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement confirming recovery of forensic evidence. Sheriff Ron Freeman maintained that both the burglary and the drug discovery are being taken seriously, stating, 'We must uphold the law in all aspects of this case.'

Texas man charged with stalking WNBA's Caitlin Clark, behaves erratically in court
Michael Thomas Lewis, 55, of Texas, has been charged with stalking WNBA player Caitlin Clark. He is accused of repeatedly harassing Clark from December 16, 2024, to January 11, 2025. The Marion County prosecutor's office filed a Level 5 felony charge, which could lead to a prison sentence of 1 to 6 years. Prosecutors allege Lewis sent sexually violent messages, causing Clark to feel threatened and unsafe. Court documents reveal that Lewis sent at least 14 disturbing messages. Some of these were explicit, with one claiming he had driven by Clark's home three times a day. Another stated, 'I'm getting tickets, I'm sitting behind the bench.' The FBI traced some of these messages to a hotel near Clark's team's home venue, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and to a library in downtown Indianapolis. In court, Lewis behaved erratically, reportedly laughing and joking at times. He shouted 'guilty as charged' as he sat down in the courtroom. During questioning, Lewis claimed he was on vacation and that the relationship was imaginary. However, prosecutors argue his messages were threatening. Clark, who won the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award, told authorities she altered her public schedule due to safety concerns. As part of the legal proceedings, the court issued a no-contact order against Lewis, prohibiting him from contacting Clark by any means, including phone calls, social media, or through third parties. Lewis was also ordered to stay at least 500 feet from both Gainbridge Fieldhouse and Hinkle Fieldhouse, where Clark's team practices. Authorities are requiring him to provide contact details for GPS monitoring. Lewis was held on a $50,000 bond, with the condition that he remain in Indiana unless granted permission to leave. If he posts bond, he will be monitored with an ankle bracelet. The court warned that violating the no-contact or stay-away orders could result in his bond being revoked. Lewis faces up to 6 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted. The prosecutor's office noted that Lewis traveled from Texas to Indianapolis with the intent of being close to Clark, which led them to seek a higher-than-standard bond. A not guilty plea was entered on Lewis' behalf, and Judge Angela Davis instructed him to remain silent in jail and only communicate with his attorney. Lewis' next court appearance is scheduled for March 31, 2025.
