One of the main reasons, a program director said, why they get people together in a space like this is to show them that they're not alone in their journey.
'We brought in Kate Swensen, who is a mom, advocate and author. She just had a new book come out on April 1st. She is here speaking to the folks today about what her life has been like with her son Cooper, who was diagnosed at age 3. He's now a teenager and nonverbal, so really, really relatable to the crowd and people who work and love and live with people on the spectrum,' said Joe Lang, development director for Lakeshore Community Services.

Governor, faith leaders condemn Boulder attack: ‘Violence and hate have no home in Colorado'

BOULDER, Colo. (KDVR) — Faith leaders in Boulder joined Governor Jared Polis on Pearl Street Wednesday, united in condemning Sunday's attack. Faith and political leaders of all backgrounds showed a united front in Boulder on Wednesday, making it clear, they do not want hate to win. Boulder Terror Attack: Continuing coverage 'Today, we return here. To the site where this occurred, to show and buy deeds and words that terrorism does not win. We are united as Coloradans of all faiths of all backgrounds, to make it clear that anti-semitism, that violence and hate have no home in Colorado, not today and not ever,' Polis said Wednesday morning. Faith leaders from the Jewish, Christian, Muslim and other communities came together in Boulder on Wednesday, calling out the attack on marchers on Pearl Street as an act of hate. 'The Muslim community here in Boulder and here in Colorado certainly denounces what happened here on Sunday,' said Imam Nader Elmarhoumi of the Islamic Center of Boulder. While all the leaders condemned the attack, some were not surprised. 'The whole Jewish community is reeling, shocked. That this hideous hate crime could happen right here in beautiful, downtown Boulder, Colorado. And yet we have seen this coming, we have seen this coming,' said Rabbi Marc Soloway of Congregation Bonai Shalom. 'This is not the time for pedantic analysis about the difference between anti-Zionism and antisemitism nor to talk about the horrors of a war thousands of miles away. This was a brutal, hateful, antisemitic terrorist attack against peaceful Jews in Boulder, Colorado, in 2025.' Tourist details newly obtained video of Boulder attack showing people on fire Leaders said they have seen a rise in hate speech and hateful actions towards the jewish community. They are asking Coloradans to help put an end to it. 'As the scourge of anti-Jewish and antisemitic rhetoric and sadly violence continues to rear its ugly head, we want to say enough. Hate, antisemitism, terrorism and violence have no place in Colorado and no place in the United States of America,' said Governor Jared Polis. Jewish community members are urging their friends and colleagues of different backgrounds to help call out hate when they see it in hopes of stopping more violence. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. State House members reintroduce Pennsylvania Fairness Act

(WHTM) — Two Pennsylvania lawmakers have reintroduced the Pennsylvania Fairness Act, which would prohibit discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community in the workplace and housing. House Bill 300, introduced by State Representatives Jessica Benham (D-Allegheny) and Malcolm Kenyatta (D-Philadelphia), aims to amend the PA Human Relations Act to include 'sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression' to the list of prohibited types of discrimination, according to PA House Democrats. The Pennsylvania Fairness Act has been brought up in the Commonwealth for decades and even cleared the House for the first time last year. Rep. Kenyatta is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and also considers himself religious. He says the bill found bipartisan support last year because religious organizations are exempt. Still, the state Senate has refused to consider the bill every time it's been introduced. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Russian propaganda made up personal meeting between heads of Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul – Center for Countering Disinformation

The Center for Countering Disinformation has denied reports by Russian propagandists on an alleged bilateral meeting between the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, and the Defence Minister of Ukraine, Rustem Umierov, before the talks in Istanbul. Source: Center for Countering Disinformation on Telegram Quote: "Russian propaganda has launched a campaign to discredit the Ukrainian negotiating team. Putin's aide, Vladimir Medinsky, announced an alleged 'bilateral meeting' with Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umierov before the talks in Istanbul. This information is not true". Details: It is reported that the meeting was actually held in the presence of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who acted as a mediator. "The statements about the alleged 'secret agreements' reached at this meeting are a manipulation aimed at undermining the credibility of the Ukrainian negotiating team," the Center for Countering Disinformation said. The Center also warned that Russian propaganda is preparing a two-pronged information attack against Ukrainian representatives at the talks in Istanbul. In particular, disinformation about the delegation's alleged personal ties with Russians will be spread within Ukraine. Western audiences will be told that Ukraine is "delaying the peace talks". However, it is Russia that systematically avoids ceasefire agreements. "Russia's goal is to replace reality and impose a narrative in which the aggressor poses as a peacemaker," the Center for Countering Disinformation stressed. Earlier, the Russian propaganda media outlet TASS reported that Vladimir Medinsky, the head of the Russian delegation, and Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov had held a bilateral meeting before the talks. Background: The meeting between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations lasted just over an hour and was the second after the negotiations on 16 May. Prior to the talks with the Russian delegation, Ukraine's First Deputy Foreign Minister Serhii Kyslytsia and Oleksandr Bevz, a member of the Ukrainian delegation, met with representatives of three of Ukraine's European partners – Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. Following the talks in Istanbul, the Ukrainian and Russian delegations agreed on an all-for-all prisoner exchange of seriously wounded and young servicemen. On the evening of 2 June, Russian state news agencies published the text of the Russian "memorandum of settlement", containing proposals for a ceasefire, including Ukraine's neutrality, elections and withdrawal from four oblasts.
