FootGolf South Africa's (FGSA) rising stars, Thato Segwathle (15) and Tshiamo Moholo (16), have been crowned FootGolf junior champions at the 2025 Junior FootGolf Championship.
This prestigious event took place on June 14 at the Creek 9 Mashie Course in Roosevelt Park, coinciding with South Africa's youth month celebrations.

He also announced that details for the upcoming national championship will be unveiled soon, expanding competitive opportunities for young foot golfers across the country and the continent.
Mphake conveyed his profound gratitude to the South African Deaf Sports Federation (SADSF) for their unwavering support, which ensures the inclusion and participation of learners with hearing impairments, reflecting FGSA's commitment to accessibility and diversity in sport.
He emphasised the significance of the tournament, stating: 'This championship is more than just a game; it's a celebration of youth potential. We saw new talent, resilience, and unity. We are proud of every player who took part, and we're excited for what lies ahead for FootGolf in South Africa.'

Sporting battles at Ferdinand Primary School for Mandela Day

It was a joyous and memorable day at Ferdinand Primary School in Weenen on Thursday (July 24) as the SANDF celebrated Mandela Day with the school. The SA Army, led by Brigadier General C Buyse, partnered with generous donors to donate soccer- and netball kits to the learners. The highlight was of course the many lively matches, where soldiers and learners teamed up for friendly games of soccer and netball. Teachers and community members also joined the fun, playing alongside the children in a true spirit of unity and celebration. Although Mandela Day is officially observed worldwide on July 18, the SA Army chose to celebrate the occasion about a week later due to schools being closed on the actual date. After the games, all the participating learners were awarded medals by the army in recognition of their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Winning wasn't the main goal at these spirited games; instead the focus was on fun, togetherness and celebrating the legacy of Nelson Mandela. The SANDF's initiative brought smiles, encouragement and inspiration to both the learners and the broader community. Orlando Pirates news: Commercial win and transfer setback

Orlando Pirates' emphatic offseason just got better. Suzuki, the Japanese car manufacturer, has officially partnered with the Soweto giants as their new vehicle sponsor. 'A new chapter starts here,' Suzuki announced. 'From the streets to the stadium, we move as one.' This agreement strengthens Pirates' already formidable sponsor portfolio, which includes big names like Adidas, Aquelle, Vodacom and Carling Black Label. While the Suzuki announcement is a commercial boost, one of Pirates' long-standing targets, Fawaaz Basadien, appears set for a move to Mamelodi Sundowns. After missing training yesterday, speculation has intensified around his potential exit. In addition, concerns continue around the future of one of the club's brightest young prospects, Relebohile Mofokeng. With several foreign clubs circling, his father, Sechaba, has made no secret of his desire to see him leave the local league for Europe. 'I know God will answer my prayers,' he said. 'Take him to Barcelona? He can play. PSG? He can play. Any country — but not Saudi Arabia. Not yet.' Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
