Man falls to death from 18th floor in Wadala
The deceased, identified as Prakash Shinde, had gone to answer nature's call when he fell to his death. An Accidental Death Report has been filed by the police in the case.
An officer from RAK Marg police station said that Shinde had gone to stay at his sister's house a couple of days ago in Wadala. He was reportedly suffering from dysentery and wanted to go to the washroom. However, since it was already occupied, he came near the lift area where lift work was going on.
An official said that he defecated near the pit and while he was getting up, he lost his balance and fell into the pit. A fire brigade team was called that rescued him. He was rushed to the KEM hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
An officer said the family members did not suspect any foul play and they have filed an accidental death report in the matter.

Kolhapur: A Sangli court sent four accused of allegedly raping and abetting the suicide of a 16-year-old girl to 14 days' magisterial custody after their five-day police custody ended on Monday. The girl committed suicide in the early hours of Monday last week. Her father lodged a complaint that evening, alleging that four from the village were harassing her while she was on her way to school. He said they raped her and recorded the incident. She was threatened with the video being made public if she refused further sexual relations. A senior police official in Sangli said, "We have gathered all technical evidence, including digital video recorder of CCTV cameras. Police said a preliminary examination of the victim's cell phone revealed that the suspects were repeatedly calling her until 11.30 pm on Sunday, prompting the girl to switch off her mobile phone. Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, the Nagpur crime branch and Dhantoli police have jointly dismantled a Delhi-based chain-snatching gang responsible for many cases across India, solving 10 cases in Nagpur alone. The gang, led by Akshay Sharma (29) from East Sagarpur, Delhi, along with accomplices Rohit Kumar (27) from Dwarka and Rohan Tike from Nangal, was nabbed after an extensive investigation aided by CCTV footage under the supervision of senior inspector Mahesh Sagade and Anamika Mirzapure (Dhantoli). The gang's modus operandi involved travelling to Nagpur via the Telangana Express, stealing two-wheelers, and targeting victims for chain-snatching before fleeing back to Delhi by train. They struck multiple times in Nagpur, including four incidents in Dhantoli, two each in Sadar and Sitabuldi, and rural areas like Butibori. The breakthrough came when the crime branch, including constables Mahendra Sadmake and Kamlesh Ganer, analysed CCTV footage from Nagpur railway station, identifying the accused arriving on the Telangana Express.
