In-N-Out has now fully expanded across the West Coast.
The burger chain made its Washington State debut on Wednesday, Aug. 20, with the opening of its new restaurant in Clark County.
Washingtonians can now treat themselves to double-double burgers, animal style fries and shakes at the Ridgefield location, about 25 miles north of Portland, Oregon.
The new restaurant includes one bustling drive-thru lane, indoor seating for 73 customers and a covered patio for 28 more, according to In-N-Out. It will be managed by Clint Ford, who has worked at the chain for over 26 years, and the staff will consist of approximately 80 workers, with a starting wage of $18.75 per hour.
The California-native chain has continued to expand past its Golden State roots with new restaurants in Colorado, Texas and Idaho.

Will In-N-Out open on the East Coast?
In-N-Out President and Owner Lynsi Snyder has confirmed there are no plans to open restaurants on the East Coast, but the chain is planning to open an office in Tennessee.
"Florida has begged us and we're still saying no," Snyder said in a July 18 episode of the "Relatable" podcast. "The East Coast states, we're still saying no."

Best's Market Segment Report: European ‘Big Four' Reinsurers Maintain Their Risk Appetites

AMSTERDAM, August 21, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Europe's four largest reinsurers—Swiss Re, Munich Re, Hannover Re and SCOR—reported strong results in 2024, benefitting from good rate adequacy and continued underwriting discipline on policy terms and attachment points. According to a new AM Best report, they are also maintaining their ambitious profit targets for 2025, despite the material impact of the California wildfires in first-quarter 2025 and signs of rate softening. The Best's Market Segment Report, "The European "Big Four" Reinsurers Maintain Their Risk Appetites", is part of AM Best's look at the global reinsurance industry ahead of the Rendez-Vous de Septembre in Monte Carlo. Other reports, including AM Best's ranking of top global reinsurance groups and in-depth looks at the insurance-linked securities, Lloyd's, life/annuity, health and regional reinsurance markets, will be available during August and September. The report notes that all four reinsurers continue to benefit from business written through the hard reinsurance market, with strong pricing, terms and conditions, which allow them to maintain robust performance metrics for their property/casualty reinsurance segments. Also, with a healthy interest rate environment, improved underwriting discipline and increased demand for longevity and mortality risk protection, it is expected that life business will continue to be a source of profitability and diversification for the "Big Four". Powerball Jackpot Hits $700 Million—Here's What The Winner Could Take Home

The Powerball jackpot touched $700 million—the biggest lottery prize of 2025 so far—after no tickets matched all six numbers drawn on Wednesday night, although the eventual winner will take home a much smaller payout after paying their taxes. The Powerball jackpot rose to $700 million after Wednesday night's drawing. Los Angeles Times via Getty Images The six numbers drawn on Wednesday night were 31, 59, 62, 65, 68, and red Powerball 5. If a winner emerges in the next draw, they will have to choose between taking the $700 million spread over 30 annualized payments or a one-time lump sum cash payout of $316.3 million—usually the popular choice. If the cash payout is chosen, the winnings will drop to $240.4 million after a mandatory federal withholding of 24% is applied. The winner could then face a federal marginal rate as high as 37%, depending on their taxable income, further slashing their winnings to $199.3 million. If the winner picks the installment route, their annual payments of around $23.3 million would drop to $14.7 million if the 37% federal marginal rate is applied. The winner may also face additional taxes based on their state of residence, as some, such as New York, tax lottery winnings at 10.9%, while others, such as Texas, Florida, and California, don't. The next draw for the Powerball jackpot will take place on Saturday night. The next drawing for the Mega Millions lottery is set to take place on Friday, and the jackpot amount currently stands at $234 million. Surprising Fact The eventual winner will have to overcome astronomical odds of 1 in 292.2 million to win the Powerball jackpot. This is slightly worse than the Mega Millions jackpot, which has odds of 1-in-290.4 million. The Mega Millions used to have even worse odds than the Powerball lottery, but the competition implemented significant changes earlier this year that slightly improved the odds of winning both the jackpot and smaller prizes. The eventual winner of the Powerball jackpot will claim the biggest lottery prize of the year so far, beating out the $526.5 million prize won by a Powerball ticket buyer from California in March. The biggest Mega Millions jackpot of 2025 so far was a $349 million prize won by an Illinois resident in March. Last year's biggest lottery prize was also a Powerball jackpot worth $1.326 billion, won by an Oregon resident.
